Weekend US Mass Shootings Kill 9, Injure 60

At least nine mass-casualty shootings took place over the weekend across the United States, authorities said, leaving nine people dead and at least 60 wounded.

The incidents occurred in eight states, including Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Arizona, Tennessee and Minnesota. Police said the shootings involved gatherings at restaurants and nightlife venues, as well as events in public parks and entertainment districts.

Denver nightclub parking lot

In Denver, a shooting early on Monday left one person dead and eight others injured, Denver Police said.

Police said all of the injured were taken to hospital. Officers believe the victims were in serious but stable condition.

Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said the attack happened at around 1am in the parking lot of the Ultra Lounge in south-east Denver. Evidence at the scene indicated at least two weapons were fired, Thomas said.

No suspects had been identified by Monday. Police said it was not clear whether victims were bystanders or part of the confrontation. Thomas said detectives were examining whether the shooting followed an earlier dispute between two groups at another location.

Oklahoma City party shooting

In Oklahoma City, police said a shooting broke out at a restaurant in the early hours of Sunday, killing two people and injuring three others.

Officers responded after a report of gunfire shortly before 12.35am during a party at the Dos Cinco restaurant in the city’s Capitol Hill district. A preliminary investigation indicated an altercation during the event escalated into a gunfight, police said.

No arrests were announced. The restaurant said it had posted security screenings at the entrance and that firearms were somehow brought inside, and said it had provided surveillance footage to investigators.

Tennessee park, and Arizona entertainment district

In Jackson, Tennessee, sheriff’s officials said gunfire erupted on Sunday night at Savannah Williams Park, where more than 100 people were gathered.

Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser said deputies were called to the park at about 11pm. Two people were found dead, and a third died at hospital. Wiser said nine other people were wounded.

He said investigators initially believed the shootings were gang-related and were reviewing video from cameras in the park. Wiser said witnesses indicated the gunfire occurred in two different locations, with one involving a rifle fired multiple times at victims from a vehicle.

In Tucson, Arizona, nine people were critically injured in the early hours of Sunday after a gunman opened fire in a busy downtown entertainment area, according to Tucson Police. Officers shot and stopped the suspect.

The shooting occurred at about 2am local time, a police spokesperson said. Police said a conflict between two groups was believed to have led to the attack, rather than an active shooter situation, and investigators were considering whether it was gang-related. Officers heard gunfire during foot patrol and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon before firing when he refused, police said.

Minneapolis, Baltimore, Asheville and Delaware

In Minneapolis, police said back-to-back mass shootings on Sunday combined left one person dead and 14 injured.

The first incident occurred around 8.20pm outside a business in the Steven Square neighbourhood. Police said a 28-year-old man died after being taken to hospital, while four other men were also hospitalised with gunshot wounds.

A second shooting happened around 12.27am outside an event centre in south-west Minneapolis, police said. Nine people were injured, including seven men and two women. Police said preliminary findings indicated both incidents followed an altercation involving crowds outside the Reign Event Center, but investigators found no evidence linking the two shootings. No arrests were made.

In Baltimore, police were looking for two gunmen after six people aged 17 to 21 were shot on Sunday night in the Mt. Winans neighbourhood. Police said the victims were gathered under a tree when the suspects arrived in a car, got out and opened fire. None of the injuries were life-threatening, and the motive remained under investigation.

In Asheville, North Carolina, police said two people were killed and seven others wounded after a shooting early on Sunday in a parking lot near downtown. Police said evidence suggested it may have been linked to an earlier incident involving gun violence, and no arrests were announced.

In Newark, Delaware, Delaware State Police said a shooting outside a Waffle House early Saturday injured four people, including three teenagers. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening. Officers said no arrests had been announced.

Are you trying to be funny? It’s not working. Why don’t you take a Valium and take the rest of the day off?

Well, lets break it down, who committing or getting murdered ...

... gang bangers, trash taking out the trash. that's a win

... murders usually committed by known assailant, means one of, is a bad person, and the other, has no respect for the law. another win, especially if caught & convicet, we call that a win win

Sadly, those committing the murders, are reproducing too fast. Or attrition itself, would reduce the murder and serious crime rate. So yea, let them continue to kill each other.

Don't join a gang, and don't wrong or piss people off, and you are unlikely to get murdered. Stats already make it astronomical enough, so don't engage in that lifestyle, and no worries.

Just MSM pushing the doom & gloom. Murders & violent crimes, continually drop, year after year, with few exceptions.

Added advice ... stay away from Dem controlled metro areas, as they account for majority of murders, both in highest count & per capita. Chicago, NYC, LA, Philly

From AI ...

The United States, loosening gun restrictions and expanding civilian access to high-powered firearms has been driven primarily by the Republican Party, often with strong backing from groups like the National Rifle Association.

The Republican Party is to blame for the easy ability to do mass shooting crimes, DUH

What an absolute, out of control, sh!tshow the United States has become. And clearly the downward spiral is picking up pace.

I still vividly recall the Texas Bell Tower sniper shooting in Texas.

He was a Marine, Whitman, I mean.

At the time, these mass shooting were a rare occurrence.

These days, they have become just...."old hat"...

Whitman was one of the great pioneers of this activity...

What is it about American culture?

Disenchantment with the American Dream?

The only way this will ever end is when someone lights-off a nuke in Manhattan...probably....maybe....

Wait and see......

One nut case shooting innocent victims is a bit different than bang bangers shooting up a neighborhood, or event, of rival gangs, over turf or whatever silly thing it may be.

Equate it to mass shootings of mafia faction during prohibition, or their own turf wars, and not much different. Except they learned keeping a civil low profile is a lot more profitable.

Gun lobbying and left controlled MSM also wasn't an issue, trying to push their agenda. Less reporting, as reading the news, was click for profit via adverts. So reporting was as profitable.

Gang bangers haven't matured yet, and have no appreciation or respect for anyone's life. Can't aim for sh!t, so often a lot of colateral damage. Oh well, life goes on, or not.

Well, I, personally, hope that life will go on.

However, I also think that, one day, someone is going to up the anti and set off a nuke.

Or, perhaps a bio-weapon.

It seems surprising that this has not thus far happened.

Perhaps, but not for sure, AI tools might make better-weapon manufacture, in the basement, more feasible.

Wait and see...maybe...

I agree, white people are a scourge on the planet, and it's time to end white supremacy. Do you belive there is a final solution for white people?

Anybody who doubts that America is number one should take a look at the statistics. #1 in mass killings. America was founded upon violence and America absolutely adores its violence. The utter and complete on refusal to reform gun control laws is proof of that.

America is a nation broken in 100 different ways. And it is indeed broken beyond repair.

Hurtin' for certain but not beyond repair. It WILL take a monumental call for US citizens to wake the hell up, grow a spine, put down the extreme political correctness and call out the real issues. And VOTE for pity's sake! Too many people sitting on the sidelines waiting for the cavalry to come to the rescue.

Pretty sure Whitman had a brain tumor that drove him over the edge, according to med records so long ago.

My severe emo disturbed students were often crips or bloods gang bangers. Out of case load around 18, averaged one dead per year as result of guns. Turf wars, sure, but also big deal with 'he disrespected me so I had to shoot him".

Often times innocent victims, like baby in crib killed when bullet went thru outside wall for example near my school. Had one fellow teacher who remarked "I hope I'm the target of a driveby, if it comes to that, because they never hit what they are shooting at"... Like posturing with pistol turning it horizontal cool look versus vertical so maybe can aim and hit target?

Right about lack of maturity. My goal was to do my best to get them into their twenties when maybe a little sense might appear. The sad thing is they had lots of potential, if could put into gear. I genuinely liked the majority of them... a few nasty types beyond my reach...

This may be true.

However, my question is: Did you appoint a designated driver?

Also, some people in these places, I have noticed, require two stools to sit on.

I am not sure how healthy that is.

What's wrong with a little gunplay in the streets? That's what makes America great (again!). After all, 'Murricans do it in the streets in other countries, what's wrong with home?

If America banned weapons, only criminals would have nerf guns.
