I eat out less and less. In Thai areas, the food is cheap but low/inconsistent quality. No draft beer. Smaller portions. In tourist areas, you are surrounded by bogans and chavs. I went for breakfast at a well known Sukhumvit sports bar last Sunday and a fight broke out at 9am. I kid you not. I tend to use delivery services or get the girlfriend to cook. -

Thais don't attack people with that ferocity for no reason. I've met enough arrogant farang idiots in Pattaya to assume he deserved it. If I had to guess, he's one of those Nordic biker types who forgot he didn't have 6 of his swaggering goons with him before acting like he owned the gaff.

How is it unrelated to the thread when we are discussing unwelcoming cities? Of course LA offers a rotten greeting, it's full of bitter self loathing sneering Liberals like yourself. Was the taxi driver one of them? No idea... But it's quite possible his desperation was caused by being taxed to oblivion by the doomsday cult for daring to drive a car or earn an honest living.
