Yeah we have it but it's pretty bad sometimes. It came back on this evening, almost completely black water coming out of the taps, then it went off again an hour later and is still off :o

Does anyone know what the problem is with the government water?

The problem is partly due to inadequate water reserves and infrastructure neglect, and partly due to user ignorance.

For an example of the latter problem, take a look at the criminal way water is left running all day onto the road by the clothes shop opposite the toy shop near Centrepoint in Thongsala. There has to be a better way to keep the road dust down.

We can't be on rationed water again? Not with the amount of rain we have had lately?

I really must get around to installing a storage tank with a stop cock up in the roof and switch the domestic supply over to gravity fed from the tank at some stage.

Dig your own well if possible, buy a solarpump, get a 500 l tank and you will have clean water everyday. Watershortage will be more and more on Phangan.

I'm in a rented house so that isn't really an option unless I can cut a deal with the owner.

Cut the rent by 20 %! I know thats not possible.... but it would be fair.

Samui or KPN, the local government has to understand that compared to the price the service is to bad.
