Opening a Krungsri account for faster Wise transfers
I too use Bangkok Bank for my Wise transfers that are now taking 3 or 4 days to complete a transaction, not really a big issue but can be annoying. Been with the bank 20 years and no problems other than this. I asked Wise why this was happening and their response was that some banks was slowing the process although I notice that Wise holds onto the money for nearly 12 hours before sending to the bank. I decided last week to reopen a Kasikorn account that I closed a couple of years ago due to a security issue. The bank refused my application although I had all the usual required documentation stating I now needed a work permit and tax documents, I am retired so don’t have these, the bank staff apologised saying the new rules are causing a lot of difficulties for them. They suggested I went next door to the SCB bank which I did, very pleasant staff, they photocopied all my documents and said due to new rules they would have to check with their head office. Two days ago I received a phone call from SCB saying my new account had been approved and to call in to complete the details. I just felt it may be safer and easier to have two current accounts with different banks however I am not sure how quickly transfers through Wise will be completed, I will soon find out. -

Science Three Years to the Brink: Climate Scientists Warn of Imminent 1.5C Breach
Most people in China and India can't read English, so, yes, they don't care about my "silly" book. However, IMO, the people who are doing the most harm to the environment do read English and should care about my book, but, unfortunately, extending your comment above, I believe most of them don't care about my book, either, and do think it is "silly" to worry about things like destroying the Earth's biosphere. They think they're so smart that soon they'll invent some new, whiz-bang technology that will provide them with unlimited non-polluting power. They already have names for that, such as "green" and "renewable." There will never be a technology that produces "green" or "renewable" power. That's just a dream of theirs that makes them feel comfortable while they are destroying life and living conditions on this planet. -
