To me the census registration is good news in that it means she probably is one of those that were counted as stateless persons and is one of the many waiting for Thai citizenship. Is it jsut a peice of paper or is it a book?

That means also she is not considered a migrant worker as somebody posted earlier.

You need to try and get some information about the application process for the Travel Document that is number one on my list. There is a phone number given on the webpage for it try and call them.

It lists a Certificate of Alien as one of the documents needed that may be all she needs but you have to find out what it is and how to get it.

If you were to have a child together the child might have your nationality. That might be of soem benefit. But as said before, for the question if it will make it easier for your wife to come to SG you will have to go to a lawyer in SG, with knowledge of immigration law.

If Singapore is like most countries your child would be eligible to be a citizen of Singapore. It could speed things up but I can't give a real solid answer to that question.

Get the two documents, ID card and census registration, translated and see if either gives a clue as to her status in Thailand; stateless, refugee, migrant worker or illegal alien etc. Or you could ask the local Amphur as was suggested previously.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 103 posts into this topic and we are just now learning about the yellow house book. What other surprises does winson1742 have for us? I question whether or not winson1742 even knows the full story. Is he being manipulated by the GF, can he possibly be a troll?

The yellow book means she is registered with the government nd should make it easier for you two to get married in Thailand. It also means that she is not a Thai national.

The yellow Tabien Baan was issued about 10 years ago.

The ID Card is for a Non Thai.

I suggest you both go to the distrcit office where she is registered and inquire about getting married if that is what you want to do. Ask them what is needed besides an affirmation to marry from you that you can get from your embassy.

If you get married it will make it much easier to get her a visa to Singapore or even permanent residence before leaving.

You would still need to get her the travel document that we have discussed before. She will need it to leave the country.

What is the family relationship of this "cousin"? How can this "cousin" own property if she isn't Thai? Is your GF a blood relative of her "cousin", a Thai? If your GF blood line (DNA) can be established as being Thai, from the "cousin" who should be Thai because she owns property, then you are all set. Or am I missing something, like the "cousin" was naturalized. Somewhere there should be a Thai in the family history.

A yellow house book does not require land ownership to get it is merely an alien regsitration book.

It's even on my list of things to do. Lots for foreigners have them. It's even a pinned topic on the housing forum.

Its item one on my list. The email I gave you is to get formation on it. You need to confirm what's needed and get an application form.

Alien is just another name for a foreigner. As I said I plan on getting one but just have not done it yet.

It shows your address, date of birth, Maritial status, parents names and can list other family members also.

Winston, don't forget to also contact a SG based lawyer. When Thailand will allow her to travel, it doesn't mean that SG will allow her to enter. You have to exlore both sides.
