lastparadisephuket Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 We have heard 3 rumours (only rumours) that when attempting a visa run through the Andaman Club you are sent back to Immigration Central to stamp out before you can get on the boat to the Andaman Club ( no overstay or any other issue). This has been reported only in the past three or 4 days. Has any one else experienced the same thing?
El Taco Loco Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Correct. You get stamped out, then do the long walk to the boat. 20 minutes later you are at the hotel, turn in your passport to the Burmese cops, pick it up when leaving... then walk back to the building... They will look for the burma stamp, so careful.
ParadiseLost Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Could anyone comment on the latest status, please?
donna Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 you could always call club andaman and they will tell you no problem.
ParadiseLost Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Doh... Ermm, yep I will most definitely do that. Thanks for stating the obvious!
H2oDunc Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Hi just to confirm things at the Andaman Club. Went over there a couple of days ago. It was the first time using the club as I normally just get a longtail over to Victoria point and have a wander about. At the Andaman club pier they have their own immagration office. You are stamped out of Thailand there, walk along the pier to the boat and are taken to the Andaman club. You are then stamped into Burma and have one hour to enjoy the club. On the return to the boat you are given back your passport staped out of Burma then back to the Andaman pier. You then get stamped back into Thailand with either a 30 day or 90 day depending on your visa. All in all a painless way of doing it and all for 850 baht. Hope this clears things up

Hope this clears things up Do you get some sort of a tourist visa from Burma when you visit the Andaman Club, or do they really just stamp your passport? I'm wondering because it was mentioned that Burmese immigration keep your passport while you're there...
Mosha Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I'm not sure if it's allowed to leave the island. Although they do usually ask how long you are staying, it's a max of 4 days I believe. There are also restrictions as to how far from the border you are allowed to go without a correct visa.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to leave the island and in fact I don't want to go to Burma at all unless I have to, given the situation there. I was just curious if they issue a visa although they keep your passport, or if they just put some stamps in your passport to satisfy Thai immigration (!) when you want to get stamped in again in Thailand.

Hope this clears things up Is the 850B broken down to 500B for Burma "Visa" and 350 for the R/T boat ride or is it just the fee they are charging to get to the Club? Can you pay them $10USD and 350B(685B) instead? Do the ferries run every hour? What is the last boat back to the Andaman Pier? This will be my first visa run from BKK to Burma. I will be taking an overnight bus from BKK that I believe arrives at some ungodly hour in the morning. How far is the Andaman Pier from the bus station? Do you think it's possible to make a visa run and catch a ferry to Koh Chang Noi the same day or stay in Ranong for the night? Sorry for the many questions, I usually go to Cambodia, but wanted to check out the Andaman side over the holidays. Thanks for the help Ray
rcys Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Hello, Does anyone know if there is a similar requirement for a onward ticket out of Thailand within 30 days at the Andaman Club or Victory Point? ie a plane ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of reentry? Thanks
lopburi3 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 It is always a requirement - but currently it is not normally enforced at those locations.
rcys Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 It is always a requirement - but currently it is not normally enforced at those locations. Thanks Lopburi, can you please tell me how you know that this is not the "normal" process at the Andaman club or VP? I really don't want to get stuck in Burma.
lopburi3 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 From four years of reading every post made here? Nobody can provide you a guarantee.
LivinLOS Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Ask at the exit point of Thailand if your worried.. I would think they would be making it clear if they were to start to implement it tho.
