ENGLISH WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN NAKLUA CONDO

An English woman, Mrs. Lilian Olga Bailey (71),was found dead in the room of her Naklua condo in the early evening of 23 March, 2008, following a swim. Foul play is not suspected.

Following a report received at 6.20 pm, Police Lieutenant Colonel Tawatchai Sutsakorn and his rescue team went to a room on the 2nd Floor of PP.House, in Soi Naklua to find the dead body of Mrs. Lilian, dressed in a blue swimming suit, lying on her side, on the floor between the bed and the TV.

She was bleeding from a 10 cm. long wound on the back of her head, but there was no evidence of any disturbance or anything untoward.

Questioned her tearful husband, whose name has been withheld, police learnt that they had rented the room three months ago and on the day of the incident, he had gone out while his wife said she was going for a swim off Wong Amat Beach.

On returning to their room, he found the body of his wife lying on the floor, dead. He presumed that she must have fallen over and struck her head on the floor, causing her death.

Police will send her body to the morgue for further examination and will later arrange for the British Embassy to collect her body, probably for repatriation.

Why would they not want to name the husband? Is this a sudden change in media/police policy? :o Such courtesy is almost unheard of.

An unfortunate event for the poor family.

RIP.

It appears it was not her husband and her 'companion' is named in report below.

British Female Found Deceased.

At around 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon police from Pattaya Soi 9 Station along with Sawang Boriboon Volunteers were called to a guesthouse in Naklua after receiving reports of a foreign fatality at the location.

In one of the rented rooms police and volunteers found the body of 72-year-old British national Olga Lillian Bailey. The deceased was found lying in a pool of dried blood and police suspect she had been dead for up to five hours.

Her male companion, William Charles, also aged 71, told officers he had gone out earlier in the day with his friends. When he returned he found Olga on the floor of the room.

Embassy officials have been informed and the body has been sent to Bangkok for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.
