  1. I used to see maniy people rushing for the passenger boats just by the bridge after World Trade Centre and before the Amari Watergate & Pratunam junction.

I have wanted to experience these small river canals trip. Last time I tried to ask where they go but the workers don't speak English and the service stopped after that at around 6 pm.

Anyone know where those boats can go ? Any interesting places to go that I can make use of them ?

    Thanks.

  2. Can anyone introduce me some OUTSTANDING cheap LOCAL food places that locals favour in Chinag Mai ?

I have visited CM many times and I only know those few night stalls and a few shops but I am sure there are some really good food that existed for years that the locals know but not mentioned in guidebooks, is there any ?

I heard about this stall in a shop in Prapokklao Rd in Sripum that opens from 5 pm to 5 am selling pork soup or something. Its seems the food is very good and the stall owner will always remember you when he sees you again, anyone know where is the exact location ?

There is also a Kuaytiew sukhotai at si suan plaza soi(where is this ?) anyone knows ? Is it good ?

I have passed by several times near the moat and saw a large restaurant selling something like a buffet style or grilled/or steamboat, is it a famous place ? I wish to eat there this trip but forgot which part of CM, can anyone who knows describe it ?

  3. I am sure there are places that perform with live band but I am not into such noisy songs.

I like to watch people sing sentimental songs or some oldies, any such place ?

I know there is some performances at the Kad Suan Keaw food court at the lower floor, how is it there ? Anyone been ?

I have seen in Bangkok at night where one or 2 guys will rotate to sing with a guitar in a simple eating place, is there any such place in Chiang Mai ?

  4. I am suprised no one mention the White Buddhist Temple !!

This is the only temple that is very different from others in Thailand and definitely should not be missed. Not having seen it as a tourist is like visited Bangkok without visiting the Grand Palace.

Basically CR is a boring place, but I like the location of the bus station which is right in the centre of town and the night market is also right there.

  5. rather I would skip those nighttrips and do it in 2 days-that would be much easier on the body-and if not-you loose day 2 in Cmai as you can only sleep then.

day 1-early bus out to either Kmp pet or Tak-check in HTL-lve luggage, peruse town.

day 2-get up rearly-leave luggage at busstation in the other town-see it and take a bus to Cmai late afternn.

Thank you to all of you.

I will probably take you advice but I may cut my time in BKK and Chinag Mai and make a trip to Mae Sot since I am close there. I wonder if there are many day bus from BKK to Kamphaeng Phet ?

Those websites given above are only in Thai or doesn't show bus time for Tak to Chiang Mai, can some help to check for me from the transport.co.th site ?

  6. Anyone know whether there is any overnight bus from Bangkok to Kamphaeng Phet or Tak to Chiang Mai ?

Since Kamphaeng Phet and Tak are quite small, I am thinking of seeing them in the same day, arriving at night or early morning at KP and take a evening bus or late night bus to Chiang Mai.

Is this possible, anyone know the bus times from BKK to KP and Tak to CM ?

    Thank you.
