  1. You must simply burn more calories than you take in. Eat 5 to 6 small meals every day. Eat foods that promote weight loss such as high fiber foods (they fill you up so you dont over eat), cut out sugar, drink lots of water and green tea, exercise but add strength training which will add muscle and increase your metabolism which will increase the calories your body burns. Dont eat a meal over 400 calories. I lost 35 pounds in 6 months (195 to 160).

  2. Wow if fluency in English is going to be the test then based on my last trip to London there is going to be a huge deportation of British citizens, and I don't mean those from other countries. I also don't agree that Thais have nothing to offer. In the US I have met many Thais who started and operate very successful businesses. If formal education was the benchmark then Richard Branson would have been in trouble! It has also been my experience that Thais pick up our language very quickly once emersed in it. Something that cannot be said for most expats hanging out in Thailand, including myself!

  3. My Thai girlfriend and I are going on a cruise on the Star Virgo out of Singapore next month for 5 days. I am American. I am not sure whether we need visas for the countries we will visit. We are only visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. I dont think we need to get visas before hand from the respective consulates but I'm not sure. Anyone been through this before who can give me a little guidance? We each have passports from our respective countries. Thanks!

  4. It;s not only single women get a hard time, my husband (Thai) got bailed up and they wanted to know what he was doing there, had he come to work, where was he staying etc, They weren't letting him through and didn't believe he was on a holiday. I had already cleared the passport desk and had to come back to say he was my husband and we were in Singapore for a short holiday. All smiles and apologies then.

That's why unless they specifically stop you, it is better to walk up to counter together and give officer both passports at the same time.

That's what my Thai g/f and I did last month when we visited Singapore for a few days. Not a word and we went right through. No problem.

  5. My girl just got a new puppy last week and she was very worried that he had a cough. She could not understand why the dog was sick because she said "I tenderness him so much." Hilarious! When she had a sore throat a week or so ago she says to me "my sound no good." Never a dull moment. You gotta love 'em.
