When I came here I had the mad notion of investing in property. I thought if I bought a few condos they would give me some income and something for the mrs to inherit. I can't think I have ever met a happy condo owner here, except the ones pretending to be happy when they are trying to sell it to you. My son has a condo on Miami Beach, West Ave side with great views of Miami Bay and Star Island, but the <deleted> he has to put up with is nobodies business. And the condo fees go up and up as the service goes down and down. So not for me.....I'm buying up land.

When my dad opened a bank account for me I was about 7. A savings account for may non existent spare pocket money. When I got to uni and heard about the fiilthy horrid things the whites to =to the blacks in South Africa and that Barclays was doing something there (not quite sure what, probably;y lending money to the white government), I immediately closed by Barclays account and opened a Bat West account and never looked back for the past 53 years.

I can't get it to work either. But neither can I get any app from US banks to work either. Maybe I am too stupid to get them to work. I used to transfer money for living expenses from Vanguard (a very large investment company sun the US) every January (I'll not do it this year for obvious reasons) and I have to telephone them at ungodly hours and wait hours on the phone to get to talk to someone. I asked them why I could never hook up and the technician said it was because there are too many scams in Thailand. I was told the same by other regular banks in the US. I did ask for a way around it, like a special code for Thai accounts but they refused.
