  1. Might help if the article explained what the constitutional amendments are and how they benefit Thaksin before everyone jumps to conclusions.
  2. The article is by Suella Braverman, a former government minister, who has bravely stood up for the victims throughout this sordid affair. Unlike the cowardly media, she has the courage to call them what they are - Pakistani men.
  3. Didn't he make enough money from the last one?
  4. Completely agree. The people there have accepted a deal - limited democracy, press freedom, political parties etc. - in exchange for a very high standard of living and sound government. Nothing wrong with that.... and it works.
  5. I agree that the Singapore model is a good one (as long as those doing the 'guiding' remain competent, benevolent and uncorrupted). But the whole point is that they don't do 'free, independent elections' as anyone who's lived there for any length of time can testify. Same party in power for sixty years.
  6. Isn't that an oxymoron? If it's decided by free, independent elections it's a democracy.
  7. Hungary, which has long faced criticism for its strict stance on migration, issued a scathing statement regarding Germany's new border measures. "Funny how a few years—and a migration crisis—can change minds, isn’t it?" remarked Hungarian government spokesperson Zoltan Kovacs, pointing to the irony of Germany now adopting stricter border policies similar to those it once criticized. Typical EU hypocrisy. The EU’s Dublin Regulation is a dead duck, witness the huge numbers seeking asylum in the UK having passed through half a dozen safe countries to get there.
  8. The event underscored the deadly risks that many migrants face as they seek new opportunities in try to illegally force their way into Europe.
  9. They will do, or be forced to admit the dreaded 'hard right' parties into power. The rise of the NR in France and the Afd in Germany is not an accident. It's the people expressing their frustration at the elites ignoring the majority view on immigration for far too long.
  10. It will come, when the uniparty elites are forced to start listening to the people instead of imposing their own warped views of what society should be.
  11. Your posting history speaks otherwise. Hoist on your own petard? I could accuse you of being left wing but I wouldn't because I respect other people's opinions, even if I disagree with them.
  12. So it's a hate crime now to be 'right wing' is it?
  13. Same mindset as doing the lottery.
  14. When political BS gets smacked in the face by reality.
  15. First they came for the misogynists...........
  16. I think he was talking about sponsors who put political correctness ahead of profit by withdrawing advertising from X at the demand of woke 'activists'. He should be congratulated for not kowtowing to the baying mob and defending free speech at great personal cost.
  17. "Musk is more inclined to support politicians who align with his worldview, further amplifying their influence through his platform." Just like The Guardian then. But under their double standards only they have the right to decide what's acceptable as free speech.
  18. Even worse, an independent politician not afraid to speak her mind and criticise the deep state. We can't be having that.
  19. It's neither Right nor Left. It's pro-establishment, elitist and will never go against the line imposed on it by the government of the day. Witness the level of propaganda it pumped out during the 'pandemic' and continues to do on Ukraine, Gaza and any other major issue. Don't rock the boat is the mantra. It long since ceased to be a serious news organisation, you'd have to go back to the days of Martin Bell to find any sign of proper journalism. The license fee should be abolished and it should be privately funded like any other media outlet.
  20. So it's your taste in music that makes him "riff-raff"? Many would say his body of work is at least the equal of Handel's.
  21. Riff-raff? Well that's a snobbish view of the greatest rock star of all time (also a long-standing member of MCC and a national treasure).
  22. They don't actually. It all depends on how you interpret the research.
