  1. One can make unsubstantiated and agenized innuendo about funding all one likes, and denigrate those participating, but one cannot avoid the fact this is going to be a massive citizen movement corroberating electoral results, and repudiating the coupists. If this doesn't give some people pause, they are living in La La land, or ostriching to the extreme.

This gathering is about seeing Thaksin. Not everyone who voted for Pheu Thai voted because of Yingluck's connection to Thaksin. Many would have voted for the populist policies, but have no interest in Thaksin himself. Also, I'm sure there are many Red Shirts who are truly pro-democracy and hence voted against the "coupists", but do not support Thaksin, so would not attend this event. (Is Sombat and his group going?). So whenever you try to connect Red Shirt gatherings with electoral results you are making false implications, because things are not as straightforward as you try to put it.

Not according to the Democrats who implied throughout the election campaign a vote for PTP was a vote for Thaksin

And it wasn't? Then you deny Thaksin is running this country through his proxy PM sister?

  2. Maybe anyone wanting to learn about Thai politics first hand and also needing to do a visa run should sign-up for this package. Be sure to dress red.

I might go and wear yellow, but second thoughts... um... no.

Ever stood at the Kop end, wearing a Man U vest?

Me neither, cos we pis**d all over the git, and filled his wellies.

The reds wouldn't pi** on a yellow, they'd kill him.

    -mel.

That's exactly why Pib advised to dress red.

  3. What is blindingly obvious is that the world is controlled to a large extent by money......what is also blindingly obvious is that there are people of limited intelligence and awareness that appear to hold the rather laughable view that all the problems and issues in Thailand have developed and occured subject to the influence of one man only

This is the truest statement I have ever read on Thaivisa.

apologies for removing rest but all i keep getting is number of quotes exceeded so no choice

but one very very dangerous man who is quite capable of being a mugabwie or Saddam and those megalomaniacs did more harm to general people than most of those only concerned with stealing and wealth. The only question is weather Taksin is just a robber baron or a megalomaniac hell bent on if need be destroying this country to satisfy his ego. I can live with former but hate it but later would seriously impact my family's ability to be safe. Time will tell but those who think their is no risk of this country falling into total ruin as Zimbabwe Cambodia and rest have done are misguided to say least

Saddam was put in place by whom?

Another misrepresentation is that Thaksin controls the red shirt movement. In my opinion they will not blindly follow a route that would destroy Thailand, you underestimate their ability to adapt....and for sure we have seen their ability to influence!

This is one of the most nieve statements I have read in a while. "Another misrepresentation is that Thaksin controls the red shirt movement". If you have a Thai satellite tune into the red shirt channel and have a look. He absolutely controls them absolutely through his minions.

  4. Looking at the posts on Thaivisa I see there is an Issan forum, and of course many farangs have married Issan ladies.

On my trips home to Ban Phai in Khon Kaen province, I've noticed an increasing number of farangs over the years, so it's plain that many live in areas with red shirts supporters.

Calgaryll must be one in 100,00 farangs, and yet he is only one of 2 or three that regularly support Thaksin on Thaivisa.

Could it be he's missed something important?

All very valid points concluding with a strong possibility.

    .

I humbly disagree this is a strong possibility or any possibility at all. Analyze his posting mannerisms and content. The exaggerations and direct contridictions of facts indicate he is a troll and enjoys flaming to get responses which he is very good at. MHO.

  5. pimay.

I spend a fair amount of time in Isaan and I hear and acknowledge what you say concerning the indoctrination from the Red Shirt political commissars.

However when one scratches the surface a little more one does see that there are more sane people who know that Thaksin is unable to walk on water than there are idiots who believe Thaksin can walk on water.

However sometimes in life it is better to say nothing so so as to ensure a peaceful existence and have no fear of that knock on the door when the police arrive to tell you that you are a drug dealer or an addict in need of treatment.

Indeed those who have accepted the pill of indoctrination cannot see the truth nor ever will even if the Buddha walked up to them and told them Thaksin is a crook..

Rather like some of the Thaksin idolaters in this collection of T.V.forums, it can't be true as Thaksin told me his version of the truth.

Spot on. Of course here in Udon Thani it is a red shirt hot bed. Although as you say not everyone believes everything they are told by these Thaksin minions. I learned a long time ago who I can speak openly with about this and who not to speak with. Especially after the local red thugs torched the city hall.

  6. Interestingly the comment concerning Thaksin paying the I.M.F. loan off personally is taken as gospel certainly in Isaan by a large number of the locals.

G.K. you really should try to get out more and mix with the grassroots in Thai society , you may well find it an educational experience, not all Thai people adore your hero Thaksin I assure you.

However I feel it only right to inform you there is precious little in the way of barstool talk from foreign frothers in Isaan so you may find yourself at a loose end with an extremely limited social circle..

Fair enough. We both know that ignorance is everywhere.

Somewhat condescending remark concerning how you seem to feel and view the ordinary Thai people and the way they perceive things isn't it ?

Think as you may but this belief is not due to ignorance in the sense you are referring to. They have been told this repeatedly by the red thug mob leaders and of course they believe anything that comes out of their mouth.

And if you ever have the pleasure to meet a believer just try to change their mind. They will quickly tell you it is true because their leaders said so.

  7. Reconciliation will only be achieved when Thaksin is granted a full amnesty posthumously.

Funny you should say this, I was with an ardent yellow the other day, and he basically said that an event such as that would be the only way for things to have any chance of calming down.

Probably why you haven't seen Thaksin here in Thailand yet????

And why Panlop is calling the shots on his return.

Anybody got that photo handly of Panlop, Seh Daeng and Thaksin? Think it was taken in Dubai, not long before the red riots and militant attacks of 2010.

Photo taken in Dubai Feb 3, 2010. Clockwise from top left: Gen Panlop Pinmanee, Thaksin, Major Gen Kattiya Sawasdiphol, Suporn Attawong, and Arisman Pongruangrong.

  8. Why stop with this fellow? He may have followed some of the thinking/practices of other wealthy members of govt. In fact the salaries drawn by many of the beauicrats could not pay or even finance the assits they have declared.

The past decade seems to have revealed the many politicans who are creating oppurnities for personal financial gain with taxpayer monies. Its almost as if they were trying to outdo those individuals/companies who have robbed/scammed the worlds investors of billions, while the former would appear exempt from any legal consquences. What is really depressing is that there seems no chance of any repayment (even partial) for the billions stolen via "corruption" by so called public servants.

Would that include the owner of a million dollar pink Bentley aquired on a policeman's salary who is now DPM?

  9. "Abhisit called on the court to clarify its work process to the public to ensure transparency. He said Thaksin's action not only ruins the credibility of the justice system, but also adds more fuel to the unsettled political conflict".

Elections have essentially settled political conflict, with political disagreements continuing, as is the case in all Democracies.

you believe that you believe anything

He doesn't actually believe anything he posts. He is only trolling.

  10. Opposition Leader Slams Thaksin for Tampering with Court

BANGKOK: -- The Opposition leader slams Thaksin Shinawatra for tampering the judicial system after the ousted former prime minister said his people are talking with the judges to help out in court cases against the red shirts.

Opposition Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva accused deposed and self-exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of attempting to interfere with the judicial system after the latter made blatant remarks during his phone call to red-shirt supporters at a rally in Surin Province.

The ex-premier said he has assigned Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Natthawut Saikua and Pheu Thai Party list MP Jatuporn Phromphan to talk to the judges for help with court cases against red shirts. Thaksin also said he would come home soon.

Abhisit called on the court to clarify its work process to the public to ensure transparency. He said Thaksin's action not only ruins the credibility of the justice system, but also adds more fuel to the unsettled political conflict.

The Opposition leader also submitted an open letter to a group of researchers at the King Prachadipok's Institute asking them to withdraw its research report from the consideration of the House Committee on National Reconciliation.

He claimed that the committee is trying to use national reconciliation as a pretext in order to wipe a slate clean for the convicted former prime minister without providing any solutions to the ongoing political problems to Thai society.

Abhisit said if the amnesty bill is passed to absolve a convicted person of his crime, it means whoever in power could point right or wrong at will, which is not a democracy.

Meanwhile, Jatuporn claimed Thaksin did not intend to disrespect the judicial system, but he meant to say that he would return to Thailand once he is convinced that the system is fair to him and not subjected to political influence.

The Pheu Thai MP said the ex-premier is assessing the situation and he might set his return date soon.

He confirmed that Thaksin will be in Laos and Cambodia during Songkran holidays.

An activity reportedly will be held in Cambodia to welcome red-shirt supporters from Thailand who will attend the bathing ritual for their patron.

Can you imagine how a conversation between Nattahawut, Jatuporn and a judge might sound? Be advised that we don't condone violence, but 10,000 red shirts are on their way to burn down your house.

And that's right after they soak it with pig blood.

  11. "There are a lot of substitution players because the real players have been given a red card. So, when the real players can come back into the game, it will be a dream team that will make the team stronger."

He used the correct term "players". It is only a game to them. See who can become the richest within the time frame they have. And of course we all know this is at the expense of the tax payers. They have no regard about the well being of the Thai people. They just do what needs to be done to give a good appearance.

Dream team? It's according to who is dreaming.
