  1. It's on the public road and is parked the 'wrong way' which is technically a road offence in Thailand. I guess no one has made any complaint about it.

P.S. it's way beyond economic salvage.

It would be some challenge to try and repair it I have often wondered the story behind it

Ideal car for the ropey roads of Patong.

It will still be sat rusting in another 5 years

  2. Tuk-tuk drivers from Issan ?? Are you sure about that? In all my years here I`ve never once met a tuk-tuk driver from Issan. They are all from Phuket,South Thailand and mostly muslims.Same with the MB-taxi drivers on the island......southern-Thais all of them.

"One tuk-tuk driver responded, “Tell Chalerm that in Phuket we no longer have rice fields. We just have tuk-tuks. This is the only way we can make a living.”"

If this is true then I can empathize.

Bullshit, most of the tuk tuk drivers are not locals but from essan and i doubt they ever had two baht to rub together. If their locals all they have is their beloved tuk tuk cause they sold their land and had fun for a year or two (i know a few thai's that this is true for).

    Bring in the military

I am sure - would you like to meet some?

I`ve met plenty and my thai language skills are basic, but I can hear the the difference between a southerner and one from Issan.

Perhaps your Thai language skills are at a level to distinguish between regions, brushnig up on your English reading skills maybe useful? YOU mentioned no Tuk tuk dirver are from the Issan I asked if you would like to meet some?

Are you seriously falling for this by suggesting that driving a tuk tuk or taxi at 5 to 10x the price of any other place in Thailand is the only way for a person in Phuket to earn a living?

I could, having never been there as i live in BKK. I could see the other side too hence my conditional empathy.

Come to see for yourself, 1 year ago I was in the same position & could not understand the level of the problem, now I fully understand. Everytime I see one broken down or crashed a have a little smile.

As i said, drink whisky today & lets not worry for tomorrow

  6. The problem are they use to earn 2000-3000 baht and more a day.

Use to live like a king and maybe have lot of private exepenses as big luxuryhouse and luxury’s cars we don’t know about.

Now Karon-Kata has more than 400 tuk tuk]s. I fell SO sorry for the Tuk Tuk' s because they only demand to live same life as before.

  7. I have no hope any longer of finding anything but pimps and ho's at clubs here in Phuket--whether they pretend to be otherwise it's boils down to the essential sexual entertainment with some thumpy thump electronic music and alcoholism

or fat rotten old men with their obsequious Thaii partners and it's just loserville galore if you want quality entertainment here. I'm sure people will think I'm very rude for saying so. I would like someone to prove otherwise, I would like to find some place that isn't about these types of relationships with this type of music and that kind of addiction...

"Yes, I've been to Phuket, was in Patong, Phuket is horrible".

I hear the same rubbish every day - oh its horrible, ok then take a trip to the East? No too far to travel!

Sure, send this guy to The Catch, where the hi-so's take their ho s

    :)
