I agree, Thai children should be kept from all international influences. Otherwise the entire country will be at risk of knowing something new.

How to build an ethical democratic government in an amoral society, without freedom of press and little to no knowledge of world history or political science?
This is the question.

At least now I know that I won't have to visit Australia.

You have to just ignore it, like crowd noise when you are trying to talk. Hopefully some breakthrough is coming our way soon.

That's about the price of a 2x4 for a tree

That's an impressive sawk you have.

Looks like you are having fun. Don't worry so much about the leaks in the concrete rings, they will self heal after a few weeks. I am not sure of how it works, but minerals build up and the leaks stop. Most of it will stop in about 4 days. Sometimes it starts again. I have one set of rings that has been up for almost 5 years, it still leaks occasionally for a few days.
I think you are probably ready to go, the only problem I see is the drainage hole could have been larger, that last couple of inches of water takes forever to get out with a small pipe. I retro fitted my tanks with 2 inch drains in the floor and in the last one I put a 3 inch. all of my tank are sloped as well, but only slightly.
Looking good though.

I think your builder just knew how much of his arm was 50 centimeters, which is a sawk. But I assume that before it was standardized, arm length was everyone's measuring tape.
I have on occasion needed to buy wood and found it very unusual that they had trouble understanding if I ordered in meters, but if you ask for it in sawk there is no problem. I guess the saw mill guys have trouble dividing by 2. I couldn't a three meter board, but no problem getting 6 sawk.

Here's hoping we'll have some 10+ mornings in the near future.

"Chatchai also cited a Thai Meteorological Department report that the chilly weather would last until mid-February 2014 and said the department, while tackling the cold spell, was also planning to tackle the drought particularly in the North and Northeast"
Good to see they are tackling the cold spell and they will have it handled about the time that cold season traditionally ends. Then they can get started on making it hot for hot season. The drought will probably take until rainy season to get fixed though.

Eat some cruciferous veggies in the daytime and you will have the fuel you need for a dutch oven. Just don't let too much escape too soon and don't lift the covers unless it's an emergency.

maybe a gutter, but definitely no curbs.

So many choices and breakfast is so horribly misunderstood in this country. I like the version of Canadian breakfast that people here are saying is Canadian, but I also like the one pictured. English breakfast is quite fine too. Breakfast burritos should definitely be on the list, but North America really needs about 5 entries to be fair. We are a breakfast continent eh?
My all time favorite is yesterdays pizza though. I have a secret two step technique to reheating that actually makes most pizzas better than the day before.

Bt1,800/sqm for 10cm thick concrete without landfill. Make sure you engage a road contractor to build it, and not a building contractor.
That is truly insane. if the driveway is 3 meters wide that is 600 square meters, and according to you it should be 1,080,000 baht.
I suspect you are paying a special farang price for your projects.
The other poster's 480 per square seems much closer to the mark.

There is a brand new Home Pro and it is very nice. It is on the road to Thoeng on the south end of town. There is also a Thai Watsadu being built and it will be open soon I hope. Other than than that there are other smaller shops, some of which I like, but I don't know their names. Home mart across from Central has got a pretty good tile selection.

What kind of soap needs to be in the fridge? I suppose she put it in a drinking cup too!
Because she had to premix it, I assume it was more than just dish soap.

Merry Christmas to all CRTV members. The most polite regional sub forum on TV, probably.
Have a Happy New Year too.
