  1. Many thx your very helpful posting, So just to be clear. After i move to Pattaya within 24 hours I will get copy of TM 30 confirmation online from the Agent. ( no need visit immigration) When my 90 day report is due in June or july I will attempt to do it on line and if unsuccessful (likely) I will go to Jomtien immigration with 1-5 in the photo. Correct? Ps if the agent can do TM30 on line and gives me written confirmation then in my mind that satisfies the requirement of TM 30 without me needing to go to immigration unless and until I need to do my 90 day report and its not accepted on line.
  2. Ah so just to be clear. The agent will do the TM 30 for me and give paper confirming it. As my 90 days from BKK is not due until July I do not need to do my 90 day report until it is due in July and I do that in Pattaya? Is that right or am I confusing myself?
  3. Thanks your help Dr Jack54 Yes permanent change of address, Next annual extension in January/Feb 2025
  4. In a week or more I will move to Pattaya from BKK. The owner's agent (of the Pattaya property which I will rent) promises he will do the TM 30 for me on the App and give me a copy of the TM 30 confirmation. My current 90 report I have been doing for a few years online CW. I next report my 90 day in early July so can I still do it online even though I will then be living in Pattaya? Or do I need to go in person to Pattaya Immigration and do my 90 day report there? If so apart from the TM 30 confirmation, any other documents I need at Pattaya immigration? Any clarification and explanation would be helpful. Thank you.
  5. Yes agree call 1333 and ask the bank. I have a similar cartoon type ATM card though there is a MC symbol on it. I use it for withdrawals and can use it to pay traders etc Also you can ask for Visa and Mastercard from BB which function as proper credit cards. You will need to deposit a sum in the bank to secure such cards.
  6. Moderator, please combine this thread or close it as story running elsewhere

  8. I live in Bangkok. Recently a loud bird noise was coming from my balcony and I went to look and there outside my balcony on a tree a yellow colored bird making the loud sound! What bird is this? Is it rare? (excuse poor quality of photo.)
  9. "The facts now seem to suggest that, unless the tax form is changed significantly and the financial reporting requirements increased, it will not be necessary for the average retiree in Thailand to file a tax return." This quote is from a global moderator who posts on here but the quote is in the business section.
  10. Thanks, the helpful replies. I was at CW today to get my 1 year retirement Visa. So, after getting that I applied for my re-entry permit. Same floor different section. After getting my Visa renewal I went to the photocopy downstairs to get copy my new renewal for re-entry purposes. Added that to my reentry app but the copy of my new Visa stamp returned to me when I went to apply. So is it the case at CW a copy of new Visa not required to get re-entry stamp? Incidentally I noticed the 90 day report section busy despite online available.
  11. I will be going to CW soon so can anyone kindly update documents that are required? Many thanks
  12. Yes well very good advice from someone who ought to know. Thank you
  13. Recently seeing a lot of ads for around the world cruises registration to go in Bangkok. 310,000 baht per person : 3 sharing a cabin. Does anyone have experience of similar cruises? Worth going?
  14. Over the years I have heard Thais make insulting remarks about Indians. So if there is some truth in those remarks maybe the same applies to the lyrics etc in the song!
  15. If you are no longer a customer you are in my view under no obligation to give them any information.
  16. Drumbuie: Many thx for taking the time and effort to tell us your experience. Most helpful!
  17. Applied on line at CW early morning: 08/01/24 Approved evening of _______________; 08/01/24 .
  18. If you are older and spend a lot of time in the sun there is a risk of getting Actenic keratosis. I had this condition on my head and needed treatment. If untreated it can develop into skin cancer. Now i try to avoid the sun and if outside in the day I wear a hat and other protective clothing.
  19. I really do regret that the thread I created is being characterized in the way you say. It was never my intention. I simply wanted to know if anyone applying after 3 January this year for retirement extension at CW was asked by immigration anything about tax or tax returns or about filing of TM 30. My extension application is due soon so forewarned is forearmed. ( I agree there is some hysteria and gross misinformation on other threads eg re taxes in particular for retirees). Anyway: If a moderator considers I am scare mongering or disguising my thread as something that is not, then please remove and delete the whole of this thread immediately. Have a nice day!
  20. I will be going to renew my retirement visa at CW (Bangkok) sometime this month. Anyone who has on or from 3 January onwards did such a renewal would you kindly confirm if anything said about future tax( eg tax return) or about TM 30 or anything else which is new as opposed to before the new year. Thank you very much!
  21. Be appreciative if a knowledgeable person can assist me. I am long time stayer in Thailand (retirement visa 800 k bank method) with pension etc income. Pension and Income etc. subject to double taxation agreement. Currently arranging my affairs to ensure I can avoid (not evade) reaching the threshold if it is the case that I may be liable to personal income tax from 1 January 2024. How much income for the year 2024 can I bring into Thailand as shown on my bank statement so I cannot be said to be liable to pay tax? (and I assume no necessity to file a tax return). Thanks very much for any input.
  22. Good news re CW: Submitted : 24 October Approved: 31 October ( and for those who do not know we have a 15 day window -if you apply at earliest date - but also another 7 days according to what Immigration told me directly on the phone).
