Noisiest bird, newly arrived in CM: What is it?
homeseeker replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I live in Bangkok. Recently a loud bird noise was coming from my balcony and I went to look and there outside my balcony on a tree a yellow colored bird making the loud sound! What bird is this? Is it rare? (excuse poor quality of photo.) -
"The facts now seem to suggest that, unless the tax form is changed significantly and the financial reporting requirements increased, it will not be necessary for the average retiree in Thailand to file a tax return." This quote is from a global moderator who posts on here but the quote is in the business section.

Thanks, the helpful replies. I was at CW today to get my 1 year retirement Visa. So, after getting that I applied for my re-entry permit. Same floor different section. After getting my Visa renewal I went to the photocopy downstairs to get copy my new renewal for re-entry purposes. Added that to my reentry app but the copy of my new Visa stamp returned to me when I went to apply. So is it the case at CW a copy of new Visa not required to get re-entry stamp? Incidentally I noticed the 90 day report section busy despite online available.

Recently seeing a lot of ads for around the world cruises registration to go in Bangkok. 310,000 baht per person : 3 sharing a cabin. Does anyone have experience of similar cruises? Worth going?

If you are older and spend a lot of time in the sun there is a risk of getting Actenic keratosis. I had this condition on my head and needed treatment. If untreated it can develop into skin cancer. Now i try to avoid the sun and if outside in the day I wear a hat and other protective clothing.

I really do regret that the thread I created is being characterized in the way you say. It was never my intention. I simply wanted to know if anyone applying after 3 January this year for retirement extension at CW was asked by immigration anything about tax or tax returns or about filing of TM 30. My extension application is due soon so forewarned is forearmed. ( I agree there is some hysteria and gross misinformation on other threads eg re taxes in particular for retirees). Anyway: If a moderator considers I am scare mongering or disguising my thread as something that is not, then please remove and delete the whole of this thread immediately. Have a nice day!

I will be going to renew my retirement visa at CW (Bangkok) sometime this month. Anyone who has on or from 3 January onwards did such a renewal would you kindly confirm if anything said about future tax( eg tax return) or about TM 30 or anything else which is new as opposed to before the new year. Thank you very much!

Taxation of Ex-Pats pensions etc.
homeseeker replied to LittleBear57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Be appreciative if a knowledgeable person can assist me. I am long time stayer in Thailand (retirement visa 800 k bank method) with pension etc income. Pension and Income etc. subject to double taxation agreement. Currently arranging my affairs to ensure I can avoid (not evade) reaching the threshold if it is the case that I may be liable to personal income tax from 1 January 2024. How much income for the year 2024 can I bring into Thailand as shown on my bank statement so I cannot be said to be liable to pay tax? (and I assume no necessity to file a tax return). Thanks very much for any input. -
And please Asiannow pick up the speed!

Aha! The real reason why the Thai government want to screw foreigners out of money we have already paid tax on= Thai government to give 10,000-baht digital wallet to citizens despite criticism | Thaiger (thethaiger.com) " distribute a 10,000-baht digital wallet to every Thai citizen over the age of 16"
