I'm in the bank now
Told them I was disappointed that the bank statements I was sent that I paid £5 for were just printed out and I could have done it myself
However my wife's taken them back to her country so I need it done again with the stamp.
Their colour printer is broken, only printing in black and white. 6 months bank statements double sided about 9 pieces of paper... They said they have to charge £5 again. So I paid
They stamped them and the stamp is with black ink so it looks like they were printed with the stamp already on. The inconsistency of the stamp with ink smeared so on some you can't even see what it says, hopefully they'll be convinced they're genuine.
And you never guess what. After paying £5 they wouldn't even give me an a4 envelope. They just pretended not to have any
Finally.. I asked how much extra it was to have statements sent to my house again (as I opted out to help the environment and all that...)
They said there is no fee !!!! So it's free to send official copies in the post ! But £5 to Print retrospectively in black and white on shitty quality paper. Amazing
It's time to change to a real bank rather than the piggy bank you've got at the moment. Time to name and shame them

Nowadays it's sensible to read your post, then preview it,then write something else.
And this is exactly the attitude that allowed Adolf to take his country to war.

We will be (are) seeing more blue plate, left drive cars ...so traffic is getting "interesting".
The cars are far better behaved than the Chinese on motorbikes and push bikes. I am amazed at how many of them seem to think that it's ok to ride on the wrong side of the road straight into oncoming traffic. And how many of them just wander out onto the roads on foot without looking. I mean the Thais are pretty bad at road-sense but the Chinese are far worse.

Lucky he had insurance. Don't travel without it.
I book all our return flights on a Platinum Westpac credit card, it covers all our insurance needs and is included when you book the flight. (no extra cost)
Check your cards as most cover travel insurance as stated above. But it must be on a return flight booking from OZ.
Caution: Don't just trust the marketing blurb. Make sure you know exactly what your credit card insurance covers.
- Does it cover everyone on the booked trip or just the primary card holder? Many just cover one person regardless of how many you booked and paid for.
- Have you got all of the policy wording so you know exactly what you are covered for?
- Do you have a 24/7 contact number to call in an emergency? Some things may require pre-approval.
- Do you have a policy number to quote?
- Do you know the limits of your cover?
Don't be a dill - make sure you know before you go.

So 7 countries out of 196 recognize a third gender and some how my view is the odd one out, don't make me laugh. Exactly who's views are twisted I'm wondering........
The point I was making is that people like you have no compassion or empathy. You're probably a christian or some other religious hater. I wonder why morons like you are so interested in other peoples bedroom activities. Possibly because you are scared your own repressed sexuality might come out

Pointless exercise, there are only two genders male and female. A man who dresses as a chicken doesn't magically become a chicken does he, he's still just a man dressed as a chicken.
I would try to enlighten you but stupid ignorant is always stupid ignorant no matter how you try to educate it. Your ignorance is breathtakingly stupid. You clearly have never met anyone who was born one gender but is not at all comfortable with that gender. You clearly have no compassion. You are part of the reason why people feel compelled to legally define the rights of the third gender.

She was stupid. Things worked out the way nature intended.
Now, if the kid had shot himself …..
What if you were standing in front of them and he shot you or a loved one ? We can play this game all day, but I find it hard to believe that things are really that bad in the Midwest that you need to carry a loaded firearm for a trip to the shops - saddened to hear otherwise.
.
I am not so naive as to believe a perfect world is possible through legislation.
Australia is not perfect but it's a lot closer to perfect than the USA. There is strong legislative gun control but of course the criminals always manage to get guns. Despite that, the last time there was a shooting in a school, or a cinema, or in a shopping mall by non-criminals was NEVER !!!!!!

They have had recent car accidents and plane accidents. I move that we ban these vehicles of death also.
Cars and planes are necessary - guns are not! Unless of course you are an American in which case you can't function without the having the ability to kill someone close to you. So much for her self-protection.
Totally stupid woman. I feel sorry for the kid.

"nut rage"
perfect expression
"nutter rage" is more like it. Self-important bitch who inconvenienced hundreds for her little hissy fit. Personally I am glad the Koreans have such a strong sense of honour and now she is gone from being able to make problems for the airline.

Agh inking just a little common sense I would say it is n up or down gear movement, ie going up a hill click the - minus and will knock it down 1 gear, wanting to pass another car quickly, put your foot down and click the minus, click the + to go up 1 gear.
"common sense" is not very common!

Interesting to see the guy on the platform merrily enjoying himself while a family man lies sliced in half nearby... Thainess?
So you're not allowed to smile within 50m of a body?
I think anyone who has empathy in such a situation would not be smiling. It's an absolute tragedy losing a husband/father like that on holiday and in such a way.
So very sad and NO I'm not smiling RIP
Does binjalin realise that Buddhists view death differently to christians? Yes Dave, it is Thainess.
Have you considered the possibility that your view of the world is not the only way to view death?
I have been to a few Thai funerals and have seen even the closest of family (to the deceased) smiling and sometimes even laughing as they remember their loved ones. Do you realise that they consider their time on earth to be a brief stopover on their journey to paradise? Would they not be justified in being happy that their loved ones are now in paradise and have escaped the pain and struggle of this world?
I think that anyone who has empathy (unlike binjalin who has shown no empathy) might consider that how others behave is totally appropriate to their culture. Not everyone in the world thinks like you. Open your mind and show some real empathy.
And even if binjalin wants to be closed-minded and think everyone should be judged by their own western christian standards, are you aware that it has been proven by psychologists and psychiatrists that laughing or smiling can be a nervous reaction to stress?

Don't blame the tourists when this happens time and again. In a civilized country the rail road company would be held responsible and this "avoidable" accident would be prevented. Is there not even a semblance of decency here?
Yet another person who does not know what civilised means? Just because a country is different to yours does not mean it is not civilised.
And from your comments regarding liability, I am guessing you are from the USA where the concept of personal responsibility is long gone and people are too stupid to take care of themselves. I do blame the tourists for being careless and placing themselves into dangerous situations. At least he wasn't shot while at the store or watching a movie. - Now THAT level of random shootings due to the USA's stupid obsession with guns is uncivilised.

Tourists don't come here because it is a civilised country.....they come here because it is different from home.
Thailand does not have the same standards. It is not civilised. If you want civilised you can take the train in Holland. You will see many exciting things, like the rear walls of many factories and houses.
I take offence that you state Thailand is not a civilised country. Just because it is different to your own country does NOT mean it is not civilised. I really tire of stupid and ignorant comments like this. Do you even know what the word 'civilised' actually means?

Do you realise that in the minds of Buddhists, our time on earth is just a brief stopover on the way to paradise. I have been to a few Thai funerals and witnessed even the closest relatives happy that their loved one is now in paradise and that their suffering on this earth is over.
People should stop judging people by the standards of your own particular religion and culture and open your mind to other possibilities.

No, it's for semi auto shifting, up each time for one gear and down each time to down shift.. it's Tip-Tronic style, put it in that position and you have to up shift and down shift manually, it will over-ride you though if you fail to shift and shift up or down as an auto, but only after some time it realizes your not shifting it.
Fink that is what I said..........
Actually no it's not the same as you said transam.
You said "Dunno, but looks like manual gear shift as you don't have gears marked on the shifter run........."
Dunno isn't the same as what WarpSpeed said.
Fink thats a ma&pa and girls thought..............
Clearly you have little understanding of English. Dunno means you are not sure but venturing a guess.
Also a fink is not related to the act of thinking, nor to ageist or misogynistic slurs.
finkfɪŋk/NORTH AMERICANinformalnoun- 1.an unpleasant or contemptible person.
-
verb- 1.inform on (someone) to the authorities."there was no shortage of people willing to fink on their neighbours"
2.fail to do something promised or expected."administration officials had finked out"It can also mean A rat, a snitch, an informer, a stoolie. The very lowest form of human scum- 1

The cop should have gone for the double. Not just the crocs.
The law also says "Top: a collar shirt (either long or short-sleeved). Shirt must be tucked in trousers or skirt."
Not only has his shirt not got a collar, it's not tucked into his jeans.

In Vietnam they decided that wearing helmets would be compulsory so they enacted a new law.. it was a success.
http://www.who.int/violence_injury_prevention/road_traffic/countrywork/20_12_2007/en/
The main difference being that Vietnam is a communist country and people are conditioned to obey authority whereas Thailand's famous "mai pen rai" attitude prevails. Also, I suspect the police in Vietnam are rather more dilligent.
Even if they could get 100% of Thais wearing helmets, I doubt a high percentage would be wearing them correctly fastened or wearing a proper helmet. What I mean is, most helmets are pretty basic plastic shells and would offer little protection in the case of a head hitting something.
Yesterday, I saw two people on a bike wearing construction site helmets. OMG!

You really should look at yourself OP. Blaming students means you're not facing reality....that in all likelihood you probably suck as a teacher.
I tend to agree with aircooledflat4, above. It might be objective to accommodate this young girl's educational needs and reflect on your methodology. From your description, one may deduct that she is trying to reach out to you for help, because she might not be accessing learning, based on your teaching method. Reflect.
OMG - these two apologists for bad conduct are a large part of the poor attitudes of young people. They try to deflect responsibility for a bad student behaviour to the teacher. It seems they are totally ignorant of the fact that the Thai system will not allow a student to fail a class. THAT is the problem, not the teacher. Morons!

The sooner that civilians are allowed to carry arms the better what is needed is a Thai NRA, no more punch ups.
I hope you are joking. Does Thailand really need to become the messed up place that USA is?

Well it seems according to news received that Uber is under pressure in Europe to cease their operations and now India too.
Got to be something adrift somewhwer to pronpt these actions
The thing that is adrift and is prompting these actions is obvious. The government is missing out on the fees that it rips off licenced drivers. Do you really think that paying the government for a piece of paper automatically makes them a better and safer driver? If you ever took a taxi in Melbourne, Sydney or anywhere in Thailand then you'd see my point. Paying money is what the government wants. Uber drivers own their cars and the cars are new so they are less likely to drive in a crazy manner like many licenced taxi drivers do.

In reality there is a huge business opportunity here for local Thais. At the weekend I purchased some collapsible lightweight loungers from a guy selling them on the main highway near Talang. Tourists do not want to buy, so renting such chairs and umbrellas close to the beach which tourists then take to the beach themselves would seem a good business opportunity to me.
Exactly correct. And to protect himself from theft, he could "sell" them to tourists for their replacement value and "buy" them back at a reduced value, the difference being the rental. That method would save him stuffing around with rental forms, collecting ID and suffering losses from theft or damage.

how long before they can revoke citizenship?
That'd get a few of our recent imports worried.
"...refuse visas to NON-citizens..." Sheesh, either you're trying to stir the pot or can't understand English or you are just plain stupid!

OMG. I often wonder how some people manage to get through a whole week.

ED visa about to require 5 days/week, 2 hours/day.
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Point 1 is stupid. When I was in Thailand for 11 months, I lived with my partner and the rental agreement was only in his name even though I usually paid the rent.
