  1. i was attending to a ASEAN ministers meeting that was schedule the next day and was at the meeting area to finalize some matters in the night. while attending to my work, out of the corner of my eye, i spotted a thai guy that stands more than 6'4 wearing a long track pants, sandals, baseball cap and a t-shirt. ask a thai guy beside me if that guy plays basketball for thailand coz of the height, he said that's the Thailand Finance Minister - Khun Korn. Surprised me, as often i seen ministers comes with their bodyguards or entourage everywhere they go but he was all alone and looking around to see if everything was on schedule for the next day event.

Not too sure of his political agenda or sides, but personally i find him a down-to-earth type of guy that try not to get attention when it is not required.

    Anyway - congrats Khun Korn

  2. saw this online, hope it helps -

Remove lipstick from fabric with denatured alcohol and dishwashing detergent. The alcohol will take care of the color pigments, and the dishwashing detergent will neutralize the oils.

not too sure it would work coz you had washed it first.

    good luck

  3. another one -

my extension ends 4th July 2010 (multiple entry), I will be clearing my 30 days annual leave in Jan, will be travelling around SEA. The Co. HR will inform the Labor Dept to cancel my WP by 1st Feb 2010. I will be applying for a new non-o (marriage) in KL on the 2nd Feb as i will start to apply for a new work permit once i come back to Thailand on 4th Feb onwards.

Question - do i have to show any documents to the embassy that states my extension has been canceled (work permit ends) when applying for my non-o?

  4. 7. Tuk Tuk drivers that will take you anywhere in Bangkok for 20 bhat per hour: These guys are in front of Robinsons at Sukhumvit Soi 19. Before you ever get in a tuktuk at that price you better have a real good agreement with the driver.

No matter what price you agreed upon before getting on the tuk tuk, the price will change once you reached the destination. best to avoid tuk tuk at all times and take the meter taxi instead.

  5. Op,

    1. buy a USB EDGE (with SIM card slot) - cost around THB 1500 - THB 2500

    2. buy a mobile SIM card (Dtac or AIS) that has GPRS service (Prepaid or others)

    3. call the mobile service provider (Dtac or AIS) to activate your GPRS

    4. make sure you have enough credit (for prepaid) to activate your GPRS

    5. place the SIM card into the USB EDGE slot

    6. place the CD that comes with the USB EDGE into your notebook/netbook and install

    7. plug the USB EDGE into your notebook/netbook

    8. a program that you had install from the CD will run the USB EDGE

    9. click connect from the program

    10. all set to surf the net

Note: make sure the SIM card that you use is not for calling purpose as the USB EDGE is not a phone but some (China made) can received / send SMS

    Hope that helps :)

  6. Sorry to hear about your friend, wish him a speedy recovery and get the matter solved ASAP.

A Thai gal comes forth and states she saw a female inside the clubhouse near the reception on her hand phone and say something to the effect "he's coming out now."

Normally there would be a security camera at the reception or even camera as people enters the building. Try to see if your friend recognize the mysterious lady that gave the cue for the attack. For one, she sound like she "knows" your friend.
