Too bad you did not try to exchange your US license, that way you do not have to take the written test. There are also agencies who will take some of your money and provide you with a DL. Relax, take it easy! Adjust to the culture. While driving here you will be absolutely amazed and worried at the same time but this is how it works over here.Someone driving in against the traffic?Nobody panics, you just move over a bit so they can pass. Sabai, sabai.

Try again and remember you are in Thailand,if you find this frustrating already you are not ready to live here. Common sense is not normal here but then again ,this is Thailand and we have to accept a lot of things are different then where we are from. Thailand will change you and not the other way around. Next time just say you do not really understand the questions and smile a lot and ask for a bit of help. (Wear a suit)

Anyone been bitten by a Thai scorpion? Is it the same as bee sting?
jvs replied to advancebooking's topic in General Topics
A few years ago i was stung by a scorpion, twice in about five seconds. It hurt like hxll and the pain lasted for a few hours but my head kept pulsating for 3 days after! A scorpion crawled into my helmet and when i put it on it felt like being hit with a hammer. Before i could take my helmet off he hit me again! I think being stung on top of the head must be one of the worst places to be stung. It was almost White in color. -
I think it will be better to dig in at home,we have a garden, fish, a deep water well and a roof to stay under. I think a go bag is more for conspiracy minded people. When the shxt really hits the fan the locals will come and get everything any ways. Some people watch too many movies.

I have a 135 cc Yamaha Spark with a few modifications. Different swing arm, disc brake in the back and replaced the handle bar,can sit up much straighter now and no more back pain. Also semi off road tires, rides really well. Pipes and a good luggage rack,i can take a lot of stuff if needed. -
How to plan an unforgettable motorbike road trip in Thailand

I have made a lot of bike trips in Thailand, both South and North and across. I used to have a big bike but now use a small bike. So much more to see on the smaller bike, going slower is both safer and an all round better experience. Also a lot cheaper and a small bike can be repaired by almost any mechanic in any small village. -

Tent, sleeping bag and other items that can be rolled up. It keeps the weight down lower on the bike and it is simple but very strong! Mostly because i like to do things by myself and always trying to improve, now i bought another bike to be able to go more off road.

Usually a nice breeze but i do not go in the summer at all!Winter is great and you may even need an extra blanket.

I do like going just somewhere alone and camp on any beach. Sand is never a problem once you accept that a beach is made of sand. Luckily i never have to ride far to find a place to camp.

I like camping on a beach somewhere, always for free.

All of this pro and con about transgender has a lot to do with where we grew up and what was our culture. Personally i see nothing wrong with (all) genders changing in the same room. If you are worried about your child seeing a nude person from the opposite sex then i see that as a lack in upbringing. See countries like Sweden and Finland where nudity is far more accepted then in the USA. Kids over there see their parents and other people nude in the saunas all the time. Children are raised to accept it as normal and won't even look up when they see a nude person. That is the way it should be i think. Do you really think that kids these days have not seen nude people? The internet is full of it ! The thing is, the world is changing,a lot. We need to adjust because the "good old days" are gone and never will come back. I hear people all the time saying they want things back the way they were say 50 years ago. They are lying! That is why in my opinion conservative thinking is doomed, you don't have to like it but we all have to deal with things we don't like right?
