BREAKING NEWS! Iran potentially triggers World War 3
jvs replied to george's topic in The War in Israel
No matter who is pro or against what has just happened ,every one knows Israel will retaliate! and it will be brutal. ww3?i have no idea but certainly it will have consequences for the rest of the world. Is Israel going to force a war with Iran knowing the US will help them?Maybe they are thinking it is better to do it now, before China attacks Taiwan? It could be a real mess, lets hope there are some people in charge who can and will avoid another WW. -

Charges laid against fraudulent immigration agent in Thailand
jvs replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is not about fraud to make a visa for Thailand,it is for Thai people to go to work overseas. Not the kind of agent that is usually talked about here.- 16 replies

Why should your suitcase be more important then other peoples things? Do you pay for the locker right above your seat? I have never been on a flight where there was not enough room to store my stuff. Some one elses stuff is not yours to handle i think?

What can/should be done about the yaba crisis in Thailand?
jvs replied to jvs's topic in General Topics
No it is now a lot cheaper! I hear some are sold for 20 baht a tablet. Any one can afford to get hooked but after that your life(and those around you)are changed forever, and not in a good way. -

Just in the Thai news, yaba addict kills 12 year old because he was jealous because the boy had some money and he wanted it to buy pills. Lots of people with an addiction and no income. -

Well good for you! However can you compare that pill you took with the poison they are selling now? Nice anecdote but not much to do with the topic,as you said ,just passing through. -
Foreigner's Shocking Behavior On Soi 4 Sparks Outrage in Bangkok [videos]

When you let over 30 million people from all over the world loose in your country you can also expect a bunch of weirdos like this guy. Why make such a big deal over it? -
Ok,if that is true then that is great, thanks. There is so much info and i found this on You tube maybe better to stop reading too much. How to prove it comes from previous savings?

The house next door to us is for sale and we are interested to buy it but if i have to pay around 30% tax on ten million baht to buy a house that means the house just got very expensive. No deal! IMO this tax law will kill the house and condo market for foreigners. I am just waiting how all of this will turn out and i have not burned my bridges and there is always a few other countries not too far away. Some people have called me ignorant for taking a wait and see approach but this country has done some flip flops before on other major issues. When a lot of expats leave here because of this then some one will wake up. If i have to pay some tax on my income i can live with that but paying again on my savings? Not fair i say!

Very popular song in parts of the US now. -
Buying second hand here in stores is not really a good idea. They are asking new price for junk and hardly worth it. Yes there are some places on Facebook ."Ban Chang buy and sell" is one of them. There must be loads of stuff for sale in Pattaya also, not so far away.

How many people commit crimes because of drinking coffee? Young men asking for coffee money and because grandma is not giving it ,he kills her? No,i do not believe coffee is a major threat to Thai society. -

What can/should be done about the yaba crisis in Thailand?
jvs replied to jvs's topic in General Topics
Really ?You are wrong!Did i suggest stronger punishment? It was more of a question to get people involved in this topic. Is your brain working? I am all for freedom of certain drugs but getting children on this deadly drug is terrible! I know stronger punishment does not help .lots of countries have tried and are still trying to win. Not looking for an argument, just wanting to have dialogue but you seem to be looking for something else. Have a nice day. -

What can/should be done about the yaba crisis in Thailand?

There is already a voice in the government that has said upto 5 tablets will be simple possession and no jail time. I certainly would not want here what they had in the Philippines during the past few years. That is also not the answer. If adults abuse drugs that is one thing but getting ten year old kids hooked on this stuff is terrible! -
I am reading and watching a lot of info about what yaba is doing to Thailand. I believe it is turning into a real crisis and people are effected for the rest of their lives and not in a good way. Stronger punishment?More understanding and more open dialogue? Using this stuff is very dangerous and can not/should not even be compared to the use of alcohol or ganja. A lost generation? Some people even proposing to let people off the hook when they carry no more then five pills. It is cheaper than alcohol and available any where. Is the government fishing behind the net? I think a lot of this stuff comes from a country to the west and the profits are used for the war there. I have been told that once you get hooked it is very hard to go clean again. Any ideas out there?

Wildlife trafficker nabbed with protected macaques in Narathiwat
jvs replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
There are protected species that should be protected and then there are pests. These monkeys are pests! The amount of damage they do all over Thailand runs in the big numbers. Maybe not a bad idea to teach them to help people? They are far more agile then any dog and are motivated by food. -
