Free health insurance is only for Thais and permanent residents. Quite frankly I can't see any beneifit of having a yellow housebook and it it is certainly not "coveted" by any expat who has been here long enough to know that it gives no avantage over those who dont have one.

It has the advantage of never needing to go and obtain a certificate of residence, so that is definitely one more advantage than zero. Perhaps I haven't been here long enough to understand though!

When you have a yellow book you also get a Thai ID number which is in the system,

Open your book. Top of the first page, 4 numbers then a dash then 6 numbers. If the first number of the 6 is not a 5 or 6 your stuffed. That's what I was told. I have a 0, and that's what it means.

Absolutely. I bought my used bike from a dealership, and went to the DLT with them and their expediter. We did all of the paperwork there, and it took another 6 weeks before I received the Greenbook in the mail with my name in it. I can't imagine how some say that it is done in minutes. They must have great connections at the DLT. One other thing. The engine & the frame have a serial number. Make sure they match the number in the Greenbook.

CM do it in 24hrs.

Book in first day, collect book next day.

If you don't want to collect, they will post it to you.

If the bike is already registered in Chiang Mai it will take 24 Hrs ,if it is registered in another town it will take longer to get the book am I right on this point.

I had a few problems with 365 yesterday so contacted the support and they gave me a new link to download updated software. This seems to have fixed the problems as everything is now working fine.

Just a quick note, the buyer's job may be available for a foreigner and might come with a visa and work permit.

The buyers job is a very difficult one I would think a farang would have no chance at places like Muang Mai market of being able to buy Thai herbs and vegetables unless he could speak Thai . With the large quantities that they would be required to buy.

I think the only long term solution to this is to work with the guy . Any other way will only cause long term problems for your business.

1,500 to 2,000 is a good average price to pay for a waterproof jacket and trousers that does the job of keeping the water out.

Most of the time it is not taken correctly anyway. Either the arm band is put on to tight or loose .They do not understand when you show them the correct fitting.

That is in most cases but not all that I have experienced here.

It is all a matter of what people think is value for money , or what value they put on their time.

In my opinion 6,500 to Assist Thai Visa to do 4 - 90 day reports and a annual extension is value for money . Other people might not?. 6,500 baht is such a small amount of money that I for one am quite happy to use the service provided by them.

I wish someone would change tourist info. Chiang Mai is not the second largest city in Thailand neither by population nor size. It is the second largest province but that is different than city.
