"the PR must tell the BKK police station 'I'm moving to CM to live" My police station is in village sticks and its a painful renewal process with limited English and almost no awareness of PR's, first time they sent me to three other police stations before going back to original one, then had to source a book for them and then a stamp as they did not have one. Not to mention it needed the big bosses signature which took a couple of appointments. Last time I renewed, initially it was a point blank "no we do not do that here, go to immigration office at the border", luckily same police officer from before was able to be contacted and arranged another day for big boss signing again. Both times needed a live call with CW PR department. Chances of them understanding they need to do anything if I tell them I am moving are very very low. I'd hope if new place they could deal with that step missing or it will be very time consuming. It should also really allow registration of living in rented apartment otherwise its just made up and finding someone who will let you register on their books. I have two registered addresses, one for PR and one for BOI and suspect multiple people in this situation.

Interesting game yesterday. Rangers at times were abysmal, slack passing, losing the ball and we still only had two shots on target. Not a good showing by either side but a draw seemed reasonable given the lack of chances we created. Hart nearly messed up with the hard press but made up for it with a great save, better teams doing a hard press is something we will struggle with in my view. CCV best player out there, new guy Johnston at right back also had a good game even if it was a tough one to throw him into.

Stupid me! I lent a lot of money to a Thai woman.
Bangel72 replied to gingerandtabby's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I've said to myself before, this one is different but of course I was wrong and I often repeat mistakes and laugh about it later when I'm calm and free of those that will steal. Was it an interest free loan or did you charge interest? Thai's normally charge interest and its a fairly horrific downward spiral to lose friends and destroy lives. Did you have an agreement, is it legal? Even mentioning to her family that she owes you money could be breaking the law, the lending laws and associated debt collection rules are quite strong even if they are never enforced. What is her financial situation currently? What I've witnessed a few times is the borrowing gets them in debt so they borrow more to pay the debt, there is no out and then people become threatening just like potentially you are becoming here and that makes their situation worse, do you want her to steal from someone else to give back something to you because that's what often happens. A court may agree she repay you but it would likely be on a means basis so they will look at her official earnings. Your sense of right and wrong will often not match a solid proportion of the thinking here, lying and stealing are often seen as small things and not the total break down of trust that it is for some people. If its purely a con and they are in a good financial position having a jolly with what they have stolen from you then that's different but legally you will need agreements. I will not lend any more, I'll give now and again but lending is just not worth the risk. Consider walking away, by sharing here you may perhaps just prevent others from going down this same well trodden path of destruction. -
Very happy to see that goal go in. Had it not and had Aberdeen been given credit for that style of play could have been damaging for Scottish football. If your three nil up in second leg in Europe, perhaps I can see a chance of that being useful but they don't become better footballers because of it. Here they are at home in a league game playing anti football.

Being asked to notorise a UK degree.
Bangel72 replied to Deserted's topic in Teaching in Thailand Forum
Years back one of the little law offices in thailand would notorise a thai and UK copy of it. So basically just a signature from a legal person with a random stamp. Even heard of people self notorising things, "I sign this is real". Sounds a bit absurd and in UK it means something different and this may no longer be accepted but worth a check, sometimes it is just a case of they want someone to sign it as real so they can tick a box. -
I'd rather the did something to get the prices down, huge profits being made at the moment, almost as if price fixing in dispensaries currently even though new crops should be out. Controlled pricing and taxing like cigarettes might provide options to limit the tourist focused market, *edit fair point on the tax aspect in the previous comment that i had not considered. I was offered an 800 baht medical certificate but it only lasted a month and they also wanted me to spend 5k on oils when I just wanted it for my medicinal flowers. Those certificates could be another lucrative business.

Most hotels will not have a cannabis policy in place so you would just follow the normal smoking rules for that hotel. If its okay to smoke and someone complains about the smell, then its just like a noise complaint you apologize and work out a compromise. Some condo's ban smoking on balcony's, that's a condo decision an not a law, its usually in contract. Still some dispensaries on sukhumvit offering street level smoking areas, they cannot sell beer but there's a few with separating tables to the bar next door and you can then enjoy a beer with your smoke, multiple police were walking by on Saturday and no eyelids batted. Multiple bars also have areas for weed smoking, upstairs balcony for example, safer to ask the staff if its okay. This one may change quickly under new guidelines but its likely still related to general smoking in public laws and not cannabis ones. General smoking laws are rarely enforced unless someone complains, it may end up the same for cannabis. Soi 22 had some late night stop and search for drugs recently, carrying remains legal so could have been opportunistic tourist thing or they were looking for meth/yaba pills as there is a bit of a crack down in aftermath of the horrific events of last month. The people I know were not carrying either so not sure what would have happened either way. The problem with the stop and search is potentially vapes which are illegal but loads of people use and carry them, pattaya were fining people about a year ago but I have not heard of cases in bangkok.

Someone else mentioned this, but also curious to whether there is a legal age requirement for someone to be the primary owner of land. I've been told when I enquired before that my son was not old enough but curious to what the real situation is. On the Thai part, I'm fairly sure its a case of yes they are Thai and makes no difference if one of the parents is not.

Its halloween and you dress up as a monster, but not real monsters. Closeness to time and trauma play significant factors but its usually the media at fault and not the individual by changing the context by exposing it to an audience it was not intended. Lets say there was a school shooting perhaps 18 months ago and the shooter had some iconic features that would make for a highly recognisable costume. For anyone who lost anyone in that made up scenario most can see how it would be traumatic to see someone dressing up as that shooter and for sure doing it in that city or state, the horror. Perhaps you can think of things closer to home that you'd go yep too soon for that costume. Media here has taken something from a country far away and shown it in the places where Dahmer brutally killed a lot of people, those families will never forget and the media has now caused them trauma again as they did at the time, for them the idea of dressing up as this monster remains horrific and rightly so, at the time someone was publishing comics <deleted>. For others its distant, not within their world, in the past and perhaps even glorified by media and recent shows and there is no connection to the actual horror so in a far away place perhaps there's no harm to be seen, its "just" an iconic look of a monster for halloween and nothing more. Nothing to see here until the media and the stirrers come in.

Yep, also guilty of abusing the linesman. Even after GG's goal I was expecting to see him on screen.

These away games perhaps need a touch more thought on getting the ball back in play quickly. At home we have a big advantage that the ball boys are trained for this and have been doing a great job but at away games this speed is just not possible. Focus on when ball is in play and move it forward, if we start doing ballboys job it gets messy but I support the all out attack approach knowing we will lose a few goals in Europe and maybe now again on the end of a complete tanking. It is a reminder though that this is a longer plan than one or two seasons and that I agree with, youngish team should get better every year and compete maybe in two years time. For decades we have struggled in Europe and we were not getting better as a team. Last year and now we are a better team and that for me is what I'd like to see year on year. Carter and to a lesser extent starfelt are big factors though. Cal replacement will be interesting today, was he not banned anyway before the injury.

Most smokers I have spoken with including first timers seem very sensible, they know it will potentially elevate their thinking to a higher level and are not sure how they will react so they aim to start in a safe environment, small doses with trusted friends. Others drugs including alcohol can diminish that sensibility so new users will get caught unware and often panic rather than have a wee sit down and a glass of water. A lot of hospital reports will likely fit this category. Then you have the rare cases where people may have a tendency towards schizophrenia but are not aware of it, this is in my view a bigger risk group as elevated thinking can potentially trigger and bring out dormant issues. The view seems to be it does not cause the issues but it can act as a catalyst where they already exist. FYI I am not a doctor or a scientist. On rare occasions when I mix and maybe over do I trip on my medical weed. I understand this is usually not the norm, I have always heavily lucid dreamed so fairly comfortable with an awareness some things are not real so if I'm tripping I'm usually aware and flow with the trip, time travel, feeling like we had the same conversation a 1000 times or just watching the person in front of you transmorph into someone else till you are second guessing who the original is. Perhaps I should get some mental tests. Either way I can understand why someone might be freaked out a bit by tripping in general but then it comes back to safe environment, being sensible and relaxing and going with the flow. If in doubt go for some mental health checks in advance, my view is its not a good mix for those with schizophrenia until further research on this is done. It could in fact be a great early sign, allowing treatment before deteriation.

Tough game to watch. A bit to close to the form from two years ago, lots of possession but too much passing around and wayward crosses. Team rotation an obvious flag, we will need to rotate but I'd be more comfortable doing it at home and after we go a couple of goals up. I think this was evident in the break speed, often they did not know where a player would be running into space so the ball went back a lot and that slowed things down to cant get past parked bus level. We have shown even with a parked bus we can rip a new hole in it but it needs the rapid pace and a wee touch of magic, both lacking today. Fitted into St mirrens game plan which was a simple disrupt gameplay and counter, any team can follow that game play so if we don't turn up then we know what to expect. CCV missed. Lets see after the break, get the players putting the ball in the net.

If you pay direct into the hospital bank account its more likely to be legit. This is often harder than it sounds, my kids school fees for example do not go into an official school account for some reason. Lying and making up stories to get money from farang is a bit of a game for some, they do not see it as wrong in any way as farang can afford it. Downside is when some emergency does actually happen they have cried wolf too many times, hope that's not the case here.

Read up on the effects before you try and try in the company of a friend. For first timers it can be a new unknown experience that their body and mind is not used to, you see a couple of hospital panic cases when this happens and maybe some of those just need a drink of water and a wee lie down. Do the research first though so you can tell the difference. Cookies are available online but best to get a first hand trusted review first. Smoke for me does ease joint and muscle pain, cookies more for fun though.

Bangkok to have "different looking Zebras" - but will people stop?
Bangel72 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
As far as I can tell, they only stop if someone is already crossing the road. No stopping for people standing at the side waiting for them to stop. -
Could also do with an explanation on the aircon comments above? Is that just in the grow tent the airflow and filter? Or are we talking about general room aircon aswell, the latter would be a blocker due to cost?

As word of caution. I went cheap on the lights 1k and ended up with skinny tall mf that I don't expect to survive or yield anything. Also should have found blue light for seeding stage to make them a bit stronger. Then I learned about something called lumins and my 1k light is has about 7k lumins up fairly close, likely too low for veg state. I've enjoyed the learning process but I also could have done with and could still do with someone recommending an entry level set up that will yield decent flower. On lazada every product has stuck a sticker on themselves and started selling as cannabis product and they are not suitable at all. Mine will likely move to balcony as soon I think they strong enough, local seeds so okay for this experiment and learning phase.

To grab a random stranger if that was the case is pretty wrong either way, seems a bit odd though, guess no idea of details and without those hard to judge if it just needs a slap or more serious than that. Its fairly common for the guys to be grabbed randomly and sometimes drunken people are really stupid and think everyone is in on that game, potentially an idiot who will learn a lesson and not an evil molester as some suggesting. If in a red light district every gentle slap of the <deleted> was prosecuted, guessing the police would be fairly busy but it also risks it becoming the next big scam and also potentially putting a lot of business models in the red light districts out of action at the same time so lose lose. If this was a malignant aggressive assault then absolutely no defending that, touching random people is also not cool and in no way am I suggesting otherwise by suggesting perspective. A drunken idiot in a red light district getting charged with sexual assault and the harm that could cause him if it was in his head just a playful action could do more harm than good despite the rights and wrongs of the case. This for me is why names have not been published but likely fees being agreed.

Great to see the fans behind Ange and the team at the end. A 3 year build with continued backing is where I see it. Two tough away CL games ahead.

I believe most hospitals hold regular sessions, not quite AA but they usually have some meetup groups. I made the mistake of pushing someone to go before, sort of get help or get out scenario, that bypassed their desire to stop and willpower to do so, so the sessions did not work for them and they have now gone but still no doubt drink. They may even prescribe pills that make him feel really bad when he takes alcohol but that too is a choice. If you have a dependent addict it impacts you and everyone around you, its not nice but sometimes you need to cut loose.

Quick question on tm6 form. Pre-covid they always stapled it into my passport on arrival, last month they didn't so now I do not have one and BOI is wanting it. Anyone else noticed a change on this front, could have just been oversight on immigration on arrival and I may need to apply for a replacement. Thinking about it they may have actually given me a separate arrival card when I left so I used that which meant I did not get a new one.

Bangkok police was checking for weed
Bangel72 replied to problemfarang's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Its being very openly sold every couple of hundred meters on Sukhumvit and making very brisk trade. Never seen police randomly stop and search anyone unless they are acting a bit doolally, which may have been the case here.
