  1. Good! You can't negotiate with anarchist criminals who have been shown remarkable tolerance thus far. Their criminal mob have held the Country to ransom for long enough and their concern for human life is hypocritically one sided stemming only from the desire of their leaders to get an amnesty so they can go off and spend Thaksin's millions.

Where do you get such garbage? They want democratically elected governments to be left alone to rule without the elitist army backed thugs removing them from power and then slaughtering them in the streets when they protest. It's the government who are the criminals.

The reds have nothing whatsoever to do with democracy, they were offered elections on November 14th but preferred to engage in murder, arson and theft because this was what their deity Thaksin wanted. Look at their actions not their weasel words, they deserve all they get and I hope it comes soon.

Where do you get such garbage? they were offered elections on Nov 14th on conditions. Conditions that would have been delayed and delayed, because they are too busy, they have a holiday booked, read the manual on all the excuses. The same as the pad members delay upon delay but, speed up the cases on the opposition. The election would have happened in 2555. And yes both sides are equal in everything they do and have done. Point out 1 wrong from 1 side, if you look hard enough the other side are doing the same. The generals in all parties are trained soldiers, how do they resolve conflict? Maybe if the former members of the armed services and police force were removed from politics, would it be different? Against the culture questions need to be asked.

Another question comes to mind is the court that is hearing the cases of Thaksin and the democrat party in the region of the red city and are they closed and cannot work at the moment to delay Thaksin's cases.

  2. I have been following this very closely. What concessions have the Govt made?

How about moving the election to Novermber 15? It was rejected. :)

Read my previous post again: Nov 15 This concession was offered with many conditions attached. A roadmap to uniting Thailand was and still is a great idea, but posting conditions after the many delays, defaults of court cases on one side ,and the speeding up of cases on another side. Even you would have to agree it is sceptical Nov15 would happen.

  3. I'm shocked at the continuous support of military intervention in lieu of peace talks I see here on this forum... has everyone forgot that people are dying?

What will it take for calmer heads to prevail?! A 10 year old boy has been killed and his mother is experiencing grief very few have experienced before... all in the name of democracy? I wonder if the mother even understands the meaning?... the child surely did not! What happens when a 1 year old, 2 year old or 3 old life is snuffed out? ... as a result of pure arrogance on behalf of both sides!

I say everyone needs to step back, take a deep breath, swallow their pride and sit down face to face. If that takes weeks, or even months, so be it! A real leader is defined when he/she openly admits the decision is/was incorrect and then revising his/her course.

You are obviously new to this situation. It has been going on for over two months now. Time after time the red shirts have shown that they are only willing to talk and there talk is demands. The Government has tried to talk with them to no avail. The Government has made major concessions to no avail. If you had been following this you would know the red shirts have made no concesions. Over two months and they still insist my way or the highway.

You ask what will it take for calmer heads to prevail. The answer is the death of the leaders and the cutting off of funds to the protesters.

You obviously have no more concern for the people the red shirts are hurting with there ego maniac policy than they do.

Point of fact are you one of them you sound like it. That is what they want leave us alone we want to do what we want to do and we don't care about Thailand.

I have been following this very closely. What concessions have the Govt made? The government have made NO CONCESSIONS. Yes they offered many things with conditions if if if but of course the conditions will never be met, probable excuses e.g. too busy, had to go overseas, etc.etc. ( I am sure if you go and buy a yellow manual, you will find all the excuses you need).

Yes I agree a ceasefire is required! And Talking. Firstly they should talk about Thaksin return and face any charges that are real. As should Abhisit, Suthep Thug, etc. I am talking about charging any criminals for things prior to apr2010, and I suggest all these charges be brought in front of an international judge. Then they can start on april 2010. If this is done swiftly Thailand will be unified in a very short time. By using international judges they cannot blame one side or the other. Whoever ordered the Army to go near the protesters needs to be tried in The Hague. The army have nothing to do with this and have no rights to be involved.

If the reds want peace talks, and don't want to be killed, then they need to pull back. They aren't interested. They set up stages further out from their central location. They keep pushing at the army. The army set themselves up OUTSIDE the red blockades, and the reds pushed out further. That isn't a sign that they want peace.

They NEVER wanted anything they claimed they wanted....

Why do some still believe they want peace, they want elections, blah blah blah....

They want chaos to pave the way to their master...Paycheck will be given then only

  5. Seat on Human Rights Council a saving grace for Thailand

    By Kavi Chongkittavorn

    The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's election to the UN Human Rights Council last week saved the country from sinking deeper into the abyss. The hard-won seat, which came at the height of street tensions and battles, showed that the country still enjoyed a good reservoir of support among the international community. Scoring the second highest votes of 182 after Maldives at 185, they did better than the other 12 countries, including Spain, Switzerland and Poland

Sorry! What is the point here. There were 4 seats for asia and only 4 nominations. So, Thailand and the other 3 countries that nominated originally 5 but Iran withdrew were elected. Well Done.

  6. One more prediction ... There will be a strong move by the army at dawn to move the illegal mob out. Not sure what but they need to go into phase II pretty quick here since there is only 1 more "holiday" left.

This of course assumes there was communications about the Holiday and the military doesn't think these 2-days were for them to get rest.

My guess is that the government and military wants to use as much time as possible to evacuate innocents and to create enough safe houses as possible. They need to be fully prepared in terms of hospitalization as well. They must have had good reasons to not move in today. I'm hoping that the final push will be massive. They're going to really have to put the foot down to get these people off the road. Quite obviously they are no longer under anyone's control. Random drugged up mobs running amok throughout the city with no leadership, ruining the lives of the people who live in those areas, absolutely detestable.

Does the Thai military have attack helicopters like the Apache? Would be incredibly useful in this case. After two groups of insurgents get wiped off the street with beer bottle sized bullets I'm sure their friends will decide to go home.

The Army can deploy their bomb detectors and airships, that will help immensely. And the medical rebates hopefully will be repaid to the people.

  7. Nice pics.

It's such a shame that so many posters on Thai Visa call for bloodshed.

It's very strange that these people calling for bloodshed are not banned.

    I wonder why ?

is it i wonder that they don't know what it is like to live under a dictatorship and democracy is for the rich only or may be they are communists. the reds are the people there are a lot more than the yellow belly's who took power by taking it not winning it. and the reds they have nothing more to lose this will be a big problem for the government who are traitors to there own people apaist should stand down he has lost it .

this is killing the king as he loves his people in the north as well as the rest of Thailand. stop the killing now. all yellows should be ashamed of them selfs, you have all gone mad with power. when will it end.

stop the bloody war now!!!!! before its to late.

The red out number the yellows only because they are getting paid by thaksin.in which i hope thaksin is brought up on charges for all this terrorism hes causes.I hope dubia sees this a releases him into thai custody to face multiple counts of murder

YES AGREED, THAKSIN MAY WELL BE A PERSON WHO DOES NOT VALUE HUMAN LIFE...3000 DEAD DURING HIS STEWARDSHIP OF DRUG WAR (MANY SAID TO BE INNOCENT) AND 87 PROTESTERS IN THE SOUTH SUFFOCATED ON THE WAY TO A DETENTION CENTER ARE TWO OF THE INCIDENTS I RECALL.

Couldn't agree more Thaksin towed people out to sea to leave them to die(at least 300 drown over 200 missing but news media thailand always play the figures down when concerning Thailand more than likely triple), then he sent 4500 people into Lao to be killed after other governments have offered them resettlement(about 3000 unaccounted for) OVER 5000 innocent people add to the 2000 from the drug war(some innocent, some guilty). He also aided over 15000 deaths last year in Thailand. Majority unnecessary. Human rights????
