  1. I'm gonna go out on a limb there and posit that the amounts they write off are far exceeds by the amounts they overcharge farang in the great government-sanctioned multi-tier pricing system. som nam naa and all that. ????
  2. this is factully incorrect ser because you can't get a b***job at Sizzler.
  3. that age, he should really know better. unless he's got the dreaded dementia and then all is forgiven.
  4. because China has it's hooks into the Bodja big time. plus I very much doubt that they could find this on this own so I very much suspect it's party of China's Belt and Road project.
  5. from what I've read it's been trending that way for some time so why is this a surprise to you?
  6. I'll hazard a guess and say that the airlines will fight this. well I hope they do anyway as that's a lot of IT work to rejig their booking engines.
  7. I usually only go one stop so I stand in the doorway and don't get to see such videos. all I ever really take notice of are the station announcements because the voicever chick pronounces them correctly. at least I assume she does as she rolls her rrrrrs ????
  8. gotcha. that would be quite annoying. unless it was a cute girl. pretty privilege ????
  9. ser, why are hot food bags an "annoyance"? I don't catch the BTS very often and when I do I've yet to encounter such outrageous behaviour.
  10. serious question ... what's wrong with Dilmah tea? I'm a coffee drinker and therefore a complete tea noob but I don't mind the occasional cup of Dilmah (two bags, no milk, no sugar)
  11. I used Maneerat back in December on the recommendation of a mate who has been here a while who got the recommend from another mate who's been here even longer. very happy with their service and they speak English very well. ps. Nan at the front desk is fantastic, a bit easier to understand than the guy in the middle desk.
  12. You do not need to put 800k in a Thai bank account getting sweet FA interest. Easy to find at least 5% yield in an investment portfolio unless you are... I'll leave the rest to your vivid imagination ????????????
  13. or man up and pay the farang tax, it's only a few bucks..
  14. dual pricing has been around forever and is here to stay. build a bridge and get over it already.
  15. I wouldn't be too sure about that given the way they're treated by their overlords.
  16. yes, you can still enter visa-exempt for initial 30 day permission to stay and then extend at immi for another 30 days. however you will most likely still need insurance for COVID as this has been a mandatory requirement for some time now and is hanging around like a bad smell. but it's a fluid situation so who knows what changes they'll make before your trip. insurance doesn't need to be from the Thai providers, those policies are considered worthless by the aseannow hive mind ????. but you can use a foreign policy if they'll give you a Travel Certificate confirming that they provide COVID coverage for X dollars. Thailand Pass will accept such a document, or a letter from the insurer, according to other posters. and yes, Thailand Pass is about to be updated for the 1 May 2022 changes so no point trying to do anything there at the moment.
  17. ps. based on what I've been reading on other posts, and from my own experience in Dec 2021 converting from visa exempt to non-O at Jomtien, immi don't check for COVID insurance for the "length of the stay". ask your usual insurer if they'll provide a letter as noted above, if not shop around. that's assuming they'll provide coverage for Thailand, there's at least one post mentioning that their regular insurer has dropped coverage because of excessive claims.
  18. this is correct. also other posters have said they've been approved for a Thailand Pass after buying travel insurance from their usual home-country / non-Thai provider. then they get a letter from the comfort that clearly states that it covers COVID and the amount of the coverage.
