  1. oh I thought you were genuinely interested in getting a better understanding of crypto but it sounds like you might be a hater. but if you're legit then watch some interviews with Michael Saylor and/or Alex Mashinsky. at 1.75x because they talk slowly LOL
  2. depends on who you entrust with your funds. eg. in the case of Celsius (CEO, Alex Mashinsky) they do "sec lending". just like JP Morgan does but they give back 80% of the profits to the lenders. other providers use DeFi to earn yield for their customers, eg. Yield App
  3. ooh now you've got me fired up! how dare you say that about my preciousss ????
  4. yes indeed and there's new ones coming out every day. heck you can create your own token in about 2 minutes (supposedly) but most of those tokens don't have their own blockchain and so run on existing networks like Ethereum, Tron, Solana etc it's those networks that are disrupting the status quo. hopefully for the good of humanity; that's the core belief of most crypto CEOs. check out the work that Charles Hoskinson of Cardano is doing in Africa.
  5. well that's a whole 'nother can of worms. I'm not currently living in Thailand so I don't know what your options are if you want to stay tax-free. maybe try the 7-11? ????
  6. short-term profits are for traders. if you're not a trader then just hodl and ride out the short term price dumps. BTC will hit new ATHs in the next few months and $100k by the end of the year or early 2022.
  7. with windows that don't open, garbage food and they won't let you exercise. and maybe you catch the virus anyway because of poor airflow or whatever caused those in-hotel transmissions. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, not even the grumpiest TVFers. oops, AseanNowers ????
  8. "Banks are not your friend" - Alex Mashinsky, Celsius CEO and inventor of VoIP.
  9. mate there's so much more to crypto and the blockchain than just Bitcoin. i think you need to do a bit more reading before you dismiss the impact that this disruptive technology is going to have on the world in the very near future.
  10. bring on the Bitcoin standard! sorry, been watching too much Michael Saylor and Alex Mashinsky lately ????
  11. nice. I'm Platy level with Celsius so I'm loving those 0.75% loans so I can hold onto my BTC until next year when it mewns! ????????????????
  12. this is a decent resource for starters. but bear in mind that US citizens get a raw deal because of SEC being behind the times and so they can't avail themselves of a lot of the good rates that are out there... https://www.stakingrewards.com
  13. will also try to get a Wirex card before I leave as a backup in case anything happens to my preciousss Rosie ♥️
  14. ha ha thanks mate but I'm already a CdC cardholder. Rose Gold ftw! now all that I need is for them to roll out AU cards before I move to Thailand in late November so I don't have to stuff around getting the fam to DHL it to me.
  15. Dorsey's just rolled that out on Twitter but I don't know too much more than that. I've never used the Lightning network because none of the exchanges I use support it yet. heck, most of the exchanges I use only support ERC20 for USDT transfers even though there a few cheaper alternatives like Tron. I'm looking at you crypto.com. ps. I'm big on crypto, it's my obsession now #crypto4life ????
  16. i hope it will be easier because of that reason but who knows with bureaucracy. the NSW Premier announced today that she is looking at 1 December as a possible date to open up the prison gates but only if ScoMo says yes. I don't think it will be a full opening up either, probably only to 'safe' countries. I'm looking to get out before then to hopefully enjoy cheaper flights and less crowded aircraft. I imagine once the inmates are unchained they'll be making a mad rush to the airports to get on whatever is flying. I don't suppose they'll really give a rat's where they're going as long as it's not Australia! ????
  17. thanks for the info mate, really appreciated. I owe you a couple of iced teas ???? as for you having to apply twice, my sister said the same thing about a mate of hers that wants to relocate to Croatia. took him three attempts with the same info. I reckon there's a lot of jealous people processing the exemption applications.
  18. g'day ozfararang. do you mind telling us about the travel exemption process? did you get the TR from Perth consulate first or did you tell Customs that you'd apply for it if exemption was approved? also what did you say on the stat dec, anything complicated or just a simple "I intend to leave the country for more than three months from this date ..."?
  19. g'day Jack. that's what i thought too but i'm planning on buying or renting a cheapie onward ticket just in case (i also want to come in on TR and convert to non-O in country).
  20. ha ha i was thinking that too but was too gutless to ask. other dudes have said they've used that service successfully so i guess the embassy or consulate doesn't really give a rat's as long as you've ticked the box.
