  1. There have been so many similar reports over several years now so here comes another 6 sympathetic pages over this latest tragedy . 😂 🎵 When will they ever learn? 🎵
  2. STOP PRESS. From Australia today, but too late for Mr Lek R.I.P. Queensland dog owners are being warned to keep their pets on a tight leash as tough new laws come into effect from today. On-the-spot fines have more than doubled from $322 to $806 for owners who fail to control their dogs in a public place. That includes dogs in off-leash areas, which the owner must be able to control using voice command. In fatal attacks, owners face fines up to $108,000 and even possible jail time. The laws have been introduced by the state government, but will be enforced by local councils. The overhaul of Queensland's animal management legislation also includes a ban on five restricted breeds, such as the American pit bull terrier.
  3. GLITCH. Dont know why my post appeared many times, but every time the "submit reply" tab was clicked it disappeared then resurfaced, and seemed like it just wasnt processing, until checking later and was shocked. Sorry for any irritation it caused. Hope it doesnt happenagain this post, or to you good folks out there. Phew, it worked no problem.
  4. A broader picture of two curses to society that many have raised:- Had alcohol prohibition way back in the USA continued, policing would have increased and droad deaths might have decreased but instead, addictions continued anyway like road and other deaths and increased policing needed. Thailand's allowing of cannabis could have fast tracked many into a dowfall to heavier drugs but now the horse has bolted and attempts to reverse the trade will surely send it underground, suggestive of more policing and all that entails in the L.O.S. Both scenarious above might have had political motivations both getting into and out of them, but there's the unfortunate percentage of those with addictive natures or depression etc, etc, who more easily fell into the drug pit, and cannabis was a "gateway" for them. (Contraversial subject involving many who will be in denial). Regardless, this developing Thailand debacle pales into insignifance compared to the world's scary challenge shaping up.
  5. Seems like this has opened a can of varied worms with lots more good information thanks. Just remembered that about 8 years ago the overseas suppliers had to collect Goods and Sales Tax (GST) at the point of sale and probably passed that to the Australian Gov because thats where the goods were going to. Messy. Havent seen this since then, dont know, dont care.
  6. I just heard about a tax that gets collected on items on delivery by post into Thailand from overseas if it is estimated the value to be over 1000 baht. Is this new? Any clues about this please? What about declarations of gift, merchandise, etc etc. Do parcels get opened for valuation? How does one escape it, and is it a rort?
  7. still kicking Posted 8 hours ago "So has many posters on AN." said Still Kicking ! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hey Gottfrid, you later asked Still Kicking... "And what exactly do you mean with that very stupid comment ?" Connecting the related pair of quotes above, STILL KICKING in bad English "stupidly" infers that many posters on A.N. need to be put down, and he hasnt replied, but If the cap fits HE should wear it, HE needs to be put down, or needs a "muzzle". mmmmn and had the dog been wearing one, that dear child would not be injured. Folks, watch this space on A.N. for the next child attack, and NO dont reply about what the owner promised about a chain. As time goes bye, Mai pen rai in the land of Thai. This topic rages on like all the other tragic soi dog stories we've had that barely serve any purpose except..... can someone find that dog and bait it before it kills? Youve got its picture. Mmmmn someone mentioned "Wokers"..... One P.B.? dog "apologized" at a funeral, to its owner it killed, so dare we ask did the latest dog give permission about that picture? Get real folks ! A mauled child laying in its small coffin is unforgivable, unforgettable.
  8. Yup, justice in the shape of a meaty treat laced with one powderd Paracetmol. Maybe 2 to be sure to be sure.
  9. OK then, it seems like the P.B. breed have a reputation/requirment for needing to be trained NOT to savage pople. Too bad !! That dog is deadly. Paracetemol.
  10. Yes your'e probably right. I was only quoting Sambum about sleeping same bed as owner. "Dog kills even its owner in unpredictabe unacceptable behavour" was the theme. Again>> One Paractemol works wonders. Regardless, the whole affair was much argued here and the anti P.B. dog protesters (OR mongrel dogs for that matter) won the useless/futile debate re the poor owner who lost his life, and the latest dear 5yo girl could have lost hers like 3+ other dog stories here. Who is next in that soi? same dog? or any soi? What's it going to take for the pro P.B. owners here to rethink? The death of a dear one?, We wont hear from them again, re their own loss of life.
  11. SAMBUM said>> A few years ago, a Pit Bull that use to sleep in the same bed as his "master" suddenly turned in the middle of the night and bit him to death, It probably had a bad dream. Dogs do dream. But how about the nightmares that poor little girl, (and her relatives) could have for the rest of their lives. Mmmm. been there, had that.
  12. Here we go again. This topic has reared its ugly head too many times, it will do again and again, each time with 7+ pages of bickering, and the dog gets to live. Someone above wrote>> If that was my daughter it would be dead as soon as I could get near it. How any father could let it live is beyond me. How anyone could possibly want to keep a dog that has done that is beyond me. Oh yeah, me too. P.B.? If it looks like one, if it behaves like one then its near enough. Lace a tempting meaty treat with a crushed paracetemol and be sure just that mongrel gets it. No dog (or owner) should get away with this and especially attacking a dear little child. 😭 SMEW wrote> "Lucky little girl, (not killed) but will be scarred and face disfigured for life... " Oh yeah, AND scarred emotionally.
  13. Oh yes! and he had Ketamine too. Eventually Thailand will regret the legalization of other drugs. The beginning of the end! and the resulting super-sophisticated feel-good sales promotion of THC in this website has a lot to answer for, both now and future addictions to advanced drugs. Expect their counter justifications to follow. Authorative quote just re THC > "The effects of THC-infused edibles can make you feel sleepy and lightheaded, reducing reaction time in the process. This increases the risk of serious accidents. Generally speaking, you should not consume edibles unless you're certain you don't have to work or drive anywhere for the rest of the day." Goodbye folks.
  14. Under drugs and alcohol he hit cars and by the grace of God no one was run over. Another article today someone killed a cop. Re your "nonsense scenario", how would you react to him shooting a gun, hit or miss, down a soi full of people? wouldnt you hope he didnt kill you or someone dear to you? It's not nonsense, it IS constantly happening in the U.S.A. Goodbye!
  15. There are some humane admirable peaceful resolutions suggested but given the need in dire cases of a downright dangerous agressive dog that might even have rabies, a deadly solution is a crushed paracetemol in a small minced meat or tin fish serving. But the risk of the wrong dog or cat consuming it, or being watched, could make it the mission impossible.
  16. Mmmm maybe leave them be? "The Americans havent spoken English for years", and so much spelling they have changed, there is no spell check. Even if so, it would trend towards the bastardised versions coming out of the the U.S. Its a dead giveaway of poster's nationalities and its surprising how many are U.S. & anti Trump. Just saying, and this Aussie dislikes him intensely.
  17. AND her face was blurred. There's the old story about the naked airline hostess who accidentally got viewed by crew when coming out of a shower room and only had a small garment with her. So with some quick thinking she used it to hide her.........wait for it...... her identity. She hid her face. 😀 Mmmm this news item has attracted many posters, like the historical forbidden fruit?
  18. Yup Fred, by whatever means we are here, by what else?. Mmmmn Is God a showoff? 😉 We can choose to give thanks for every breath we take, every view we see, to enjoy this beautiful planet, in gravity and fresh air; just two basics we can't see yet believe in, the miracle of life re babies and the love we can show to each other in our brief stopover here. Call this naive but could it auger better than some posters choose to live, love hate the thought of being God-provided? so believe what you want without irrelevant condemnations. Call it God the creator or whatever we choose, and is described well in the video "indescribable".
  19. Seems like they think they dont need to. 😛
  20. Yes cdemundo, agree, live and let live, and I wonder if if crossbones is just a little bit of a mischevious likeable character by asking here and not Googling where is a Bkk C of E.? so maybe with just their few added stirry words, do they like baiting/watching the entertaining lions to come out in this forum? 😁.
  21. Oh Scorecard thats sad to hear and is NOT what Christianity is about but was human failings and the military dictatorship. I'ts about peace patience kindness compassion forgiveness LOVE etc etc, so regardless wherever you are "at", and unlike the military chaplain, is mere forgiveness a starting point? Are the above principles worthy? Would even the venemous detractors here want it any other way? People and even religious organizations will let you down, and they did.
  22. BFC said... Christ Church at the corner of Sathorn Road and Convent Road is your best bet. Banana and custard after the service a speciality. 😉
  23. Sadly according to a reply on P2 he did die.
