Bandersnatch said:- I drive my EV on excess solar power after I have powered my house and charged my solar batteries. I charge my EV from its dedicated panels and no battery is needed for that inverter*, whilst the house battery is charging from its own dedicated panels. *Dont trust the Queenswing inverter company claim that no battery is needed. I bet you love driving your EV too? Who cares much what they look like. and yes I took a picture at a supermarket park, not at Starbucks, but because 2 other EV parked beside mine.

You beat me to it John. Amazing the priorities people have in life. Oh well each to their own. Is there a warning for tourists printed on entry to L.O.S.? Maybe the Chinese tourist though it would be a "chick magnet" and he attracted more than he bargained for. . "A fool and their money are soon parted".

There are sooo many good curved designs for protective sunglasses and am surpised a doctor would first suggest just a hat which is better for protecting the ears and face but not the eyes. How about a decent pair of polaroids? Just for a smile, did you see pics of the 2 lady chinese? tourists who chose woven rice cooking baskets for a hat and were walking in a soi market place and oblivious about all the pics being taken.

Dont be so short sighted. The day is coming when I.C.E. cars will also be likewise because fuel will be really short from barricades of certain fuel ships supplying certain nations by you know who. But then food shortages will be catastrophic too.

British tourist’s lost wallet returned by Thai hotel worker
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Quite often things "happen in mysterious ways" needing skeptics to eat their own words, so even if this was fake news, lets hope if ever Oz999 is guilty of being a "fool" and is the receiver of a similar heartwarming gesture, there will be a another glimmer of hope for humanity and goodness knows we need this more than ever. B.T.W. what a different outcome to the recent ASAEN NOW article about the empty wallet found in the street and that good samaritan was temporarily in hot water. -
Stay with it DUNROAMIN, even though petrol stations will inevitably have less bowsers and more E.V. chargers meaning all the more for the E.V. owners who might need it, (not me) and all the less for the likes of you. Again: please stay with it DUNROAMIN.

Let the adamant non-involved detractors ignorantly argue on as usual. My E.V. suits me really fine. 9000km now in 11 months, no petrol bills, no power bills, charging off grid at home, 24 dedicated older solar panels and no house battery involved, but two backup sources are available, no I.C.E. idling like in Bkk traffic, no stop/start petrol guzzling, no concerns about guzzling in upcountry hills etc etc. Think about it you I.C.E fans; only about 18% of your petrol bill is useful. My E.V. battery will probably last 2 more years than the 8 year/100,000km warranty, but DKDC "dont know dont care" because I'll not be driving then. OMG who knows the potentially scary future then anyway? Mostly careful to slowly charge at 6A to 15A to about the recommended 80%. In the mean time its absolutely beautiful to drive, never ceases to amaze, and the cooling air con only subtracts 14 km from the range.

Well said. No-one will probably read this dead discussion now but my Thai sister in law goes one better:- "get real, because when you are hungry, everything is arroy". delicious. For me Thai food is still the best.

Thai man demands responsibility for explosion after fridge repair
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Ah yes RocketDog that is more plausable. Methane is an odorless, colorless, flammable gas. and its density is about half that of air and had there been a vent it might not have been there in the tank, so it had been leaking into the kitched for yonks just waiting for someone to braze over that gap. What bad luck. . . (The flammability limit of the gas is a concentration in air from 5 to 15%.) So the householders actually may never have smelt H2S, and the fridge technician may have only smelt and blamed H2S after the disruptive explosion but the real culprit could have been CH4 methane. -
Don't Miss This Great Piano Trio Jazz - from Osaka!
Jing Joe replied to siftasam's topic in Chiang Mai
Siftasam, please fast track me to your best suggested links to two songs on your list because as you say:- Osaka Jazz Channel on You Tube. It's a large channel, #1. the photographers song:- "Some day my prints will come". #2. that Thai astronaut song:- "Fry me to the moon" I'd only heard of two kinds of music before:- Country, and Western and because you say "Now you has Jazz", so please open our ears to the stuff you like. -
Thai man demands responsibility for explosion after fridge repair
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Agree Brian. And the brazing equipment was on the tank lid, the hissing was probably the expanding start of burning of the H2S in the tank, which got too much so then half that lid lifted in the following fiery explosion. Its a wonder a small stinky leak hadnt been detected before but "H2S is slightly denser than air", and "Hydrogen sulfide (also known as H2S, sewer gas, swamp gas, stink damp, and sour damp) is a colorless gas known for its pungent "rotten egg" odor at low concentrations. It is extremely flammable and highly toxic." So if no vent, the toilet was flushed, a slight buildup of tank pressure pushing H2S slightly upward, through a gap in the cover, no floor coverings there, bad timing, the brazing tech got burnt, and the rest was history except for the ongoing blame dispute. Sounds feasible to me but at the start the story had so many incongruencies. -
Thai woman arrested for selling her masturbation videos online
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
So she for this supposed "immoral" act in trying to make a living, and her arrest led to even one day in that prison for example, where someone we know spent only hours when it should be what... 8 years?, we know what wouldn't happen if she too feigned a medical reason to be transferred to a hospital. What used to be the L.O.S. :- maybe change the S to S.S. (sickening stupidity?) OMG Thailand, whats happening? -
Danish man on trial for theft in Bangkok Airport

Good one and how about another one "Found it before it was lost"? Both hardly applicable here. -
Danish man on trial for theft in Bangkok Airport
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Whether it's lawful or not in Thailand, the words above sadly seem inapplicable given so much high level corruption "seems to be" happening lately in L.O.S. Developed countries have an "innocent until proven guilty" policy but AboutThaim's g.f. luckily dodged jail? when she handed in an emptied wallet to the p.p. Mmmm.. the Dane quickly went to the disabled toilet and they are more likely to be vacant, isolated and quickly locked. The Dane has Done his Dash? -
Danish man on trial for theft in Bangkok Airport
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Regardless, a discarded wallet would be a pretty sure sign its been emptied of cash like the near miss with the p.p. as AbouThiam shared with us about his g.f. , but then how about the many heart warming posts where several Thai taxi drivers have actively sought out their last passengers to return their dropped cash in the taxi? Decisions decisions. -

Of the thousands of languages, and our thousands of years on this planet, oh dear, looks like the same old trait.. dishonesty. Thai jail ahead? oh dear. -

"When in Thailand do as the Thais do" :- eat Thai? My preference is always Thai but when I'm in Oz I too could ask "where can you get good Thai"? and my wife is not happy there's no small egg plant in Green curry chicken and many dishes dont have "proper" ingredients. Have you tried Thai "black eggs"? Khai lu khai. otherwise know as "son in law testicles"? Delicious. Fair dinkum mate. Police officer fatally stabbed while calming drug addict in Nakhon Phanom
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
So sad and will anyone ever know if that drug addict started on Cannabis which still has a cloud over it as a potential psychological gateway drug? What has Thailand done? watch this space. From this National Institute of Drug Abuse reputable website https://nida.nih.gov/publications/drugfacts/cannabis-marijuana comes this:- Research suggests that between 9 and 30 percent of those who use marijuana may develop some degree of marijuana use disorder.25 People who begin using marijuana before age 18 are four to seven times more likely than adults to develop a marijuana use disorder.26 -

Correction>>> Does anyone else see a parallel coming through? how some Yanks believe they have the MORAL right to carry guns and so the world looks on at all the individual and mass U.S.A. shootings, and the minority of individuals on this 7 page topic who believe they have the legal/MORAL right to have "unpredictable" killer Pit Bulls? about which many countries are banning. and also their being proud of their 2 dogs thats can judge a book by its cover re "they hate badly dressed men, rubbish collectors and anyone else who looks “dirty” which is just so sick. -

Brutal Pit Bull Attack Shocks Community; Victim Succumbs to Injuries
Jing Joe replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Rai News
Mmm TroubleandGrumpy, unfortunately that wisdom to move, still left the newcomers and existing village to be at a "huge risk and that it was just a matter of time before the dog did hurt one of the kids.". so as Boondoman wisely said above, "blame the owners", and it will be a case of "not if but when", someones throat is fatally mauled again. Oh well, Mai pen rai, dont worry, doesnt matter, owners put dogs before kids, but won't it be only a matter of time before your mate's new safe haven will have a new neighbourhood dog? Hope not. Gomangosteen discretely shared how a dangerous dog "went on a holiday". "Relocation" also describes it. We'll surely read about the next tragic death in Asean Now, neighbourhoods will be "deeply shocked" again, and the debate will start all over again.
