You are wrong. The UK is welcoming Americans, as long as they quarantine.
Utterly ridiculous beyond any sane human being level of sanity.
The whole UK response has been scarily woeful. Late to lockdown because of a sense of British entitlement that their scientists knew better. But then backtracked and realised they messed up, despite James Bond seeing what was going on in Wuhan and Italy.
No Masks needed, but then yeah you need them. Constructions workers still working during a pandemic. A very light lockdown. Protests in the middle of a pandemic. Goverment advisors flaunting the rules of lockdown.
This is what happens you elect clowns. For all the mocking of Thai leaders, they have no messed up horrendously like Trump and Boris.
So peoples stupidity in not following guidelines are down to the Presidents and Prime Ministers of countries is this what you are saying ?
Your saying late to lockdown for the UK variuos countries have different thoughts and policies some wait to see how things progress in other countries before making an advised decision.
Im a construction worker and have worked all the way through the pandemic and am still working thats my choice not the governments. I will continue to work as ive as much chance of dieing from being run over by a bus or attacked and stabbed by a terrorist. Me continuing to work is nothing to do with the govrnment.
Absolute <deleted> people have been warned and you cant blame governments for that the people reap what they sew.

If an effective vaccine is developed and available I think what we will see is proof of vaccinatoon being required to board an airplane or enter a foreign country.
The Flu kills millions of people lol there are Flu injections but we dont have to show proof of having these. Totally ludicrous. Look at other pandemics H1N1 virus over 60 million contracted that in america compared to the mere 4.5 million that now have Covid19 and there were no such bans in place when that was going on. Definetley something not right somewhere.

I’m sure there are many things that should be illegal, I suspect you would think of many more things than I, but that doesn’t answer my question.
The reason I ask is simply this, if it is not actually ‘illegal’ to cross the English Channel, then on what basis can the new ‘Commander’ intervene in anyone doing something that is not ‘illegal’.
Checking their passports.......if they aint got any turn em around....lol
UK isnt part of EU so it is illegal.
Would be the equivelant of crossing the mekong from thailand to laos. Probably not ilegel as long as you have paperwork.

The UK seems to be the same the actual travel ban on the FCO website has been lifted so for most of Thailand its safe to travel there its just getting there thats the actual problem. Also with the FCO lifting the ban insurance policies are more easily acquired.

The EU just wants to prevent that criminals pirates smuggling substandard products duty-free into the EU. That's not difficult to understand.
LOL biggest crock post i've read yet. EU can't do anything to secure any of their borders in Europe in regard's to smuggling, Immigration and anything else that affects so called EU border's. That is what is not difficult to understand. Too many people have opinions about hings that do not directly affect them.
Maybe they should get their own border's sorted without bothering about other borders.
No matter what happens with Brexit it will never be an acceptable agreement on any side.
Britain has gone it alone before and im sure it can do again. Blow up the channel tunnel will be the 1st good start. Then EU wont need to worry about that border. Put a hard border back in Ireland that's problem solved there. Not as if these borders were not in place before and not as if they cannot be put back in place.

You buy the bus ticket at a counter at the entrance to the bridge, then get your Laos visa sorted for 1500 baht or 35 USD before clearing Thai Immigration. The bus takes you across the bridge for 50 baht and after clearing Laos immigration you can get a tuk tuk to the Thai consulate for 100 baht. I left my pickup at the covered parking on the left hand side car park at the bridge - it was 150 baht for 36 hours.
Have they changed the process as when I recently did my trip you get your Laos visa on the Lao side not before you clear Thai Immigration ?

Wife had a bike shipped from Udon to Banpong near Bangkok for father a few years ago was no major problems. Did have couple extra scratches and bumps but to be expected.
Easy enough process.

so a stamp there costs more than a visa at the embassy....
border officials must be happy
Dont really see how a stamp at Phu Nam Ron costs more than visa at embassy. For me i live near border so why would i pay the expense of travelling to bangkok to get visa i dont need for the below costs which aint cheaper....
Same-day visas cost 1260 baht. Next-day visas cost about 1000 baht. Three day visas cost about 810 baht - cheapest option. It was not always easy to get the same-day-visa and that you need good reason to support the urgency. Normally Staff at the Myanmar Visa section are open to your argument. Moreover a proof of means to get out of the country e.g round trip ticket is needed.

Tried to find out earlier in month but no 1 could really confirm about Phu Nam Ron for Visa run.
Just an FYI buisness seems to be as usual no problems, no myanmar visa required same details as the runs i made before valid Thai Visa in passport. (Non Im O)
Slight change in cost but its liveable extra 50 baht lol so still under 1k for the run. There is a visa company that has office there and they can be cotacted to find out situation. Which is what i eventually did. Don't know rules on posting any details of relevant company but can easily be found on google search for ThreeDawai.
Thanks All

Thanks for quick reply Joe.
If anyone has tried can they let me know and give confirmation. My run due towards end of month so looks like it may be back to bangkok and phoipet. (Gutted)
Kind Regards

Totally agree with the OP here and also would like to say that there is no consistency in the way that Visa's are isued from Bangkok UK Embassy.
This is from my own past experience. When i initially married my wife we filled in paperwork for a 2 year Visa for her. This was done myself and after initial problems of getting the visa Agency to even accept the Visa application, which eventually they did. Gladly and with no problems the visa was issued.
I was in the Force's at the time and my wife visited 2 time's within the duration of the 2 year Visa.
There were no problem's and no overstay of any kind.
Eventually it came time to renew the visa so again we went through the rigmarole of the paperwork required. Again i did everything myself sending all the relevant paperwork needed. Basically thought this would be a formality and the visa would be issued no problem. How wrong i was.
I was still in the military and earning more money than the first application that was accepted.
The application was refused by the Embassy due to lack of fund's on my part. You can imagine my dismay when the wife in tear's was telling me this on the telephone. I had just returned from a tour and was looking forward to seeing her in the UK.
We appealed and the appeal was refused. I was totally disgusted as to how they can give a visa initially and then suddenly refuse for some crappy reason which was inaccurate.
In the end i decided to contact my local MP who took up the case for me and to cut a long story short within a week apologie's and visa was issued.
There is no credibility in the way Visa's are issued from the Embassy in Bangkok. My wife was reduced to tears by embassy staff being rude on the phone to her and i actually think that someone was having a bad day and refused the visa. Or even that there is a limit on the number of visa's given and our applicaton was over the limit that day.
We have not applied for a Visa since but dare say we will 1 day but god only know's what will happen then.

Hull don't reply to emails.
Phone them if you want to discuss your specific case.
They may sound a bit crusty - that is because they are from Yorkshire. They are more helpful in the flesh but helpful enough on the phone.
I got my Non-Imm O on 5th July based on an over 50 with monthly income of over GBP 1,200.
Since August Hull cannot issue Non-Imm O's, they have to go to London. Apply to Hull but don't expect the normal same day turnround.
You sure about this i had no problem getting my Non imm O Visa in the usual 30 minute turn around at start of august (from Hull with correct paperwork)?

So what actually happens with the E-Visa does it get stuck into your passport like a normal visa so taking up a whole page or do you only receive the entry and exit stamps in passport ?
