They should announce today a 10 day country lockdown covering the entire New Year weekend.
Not really going to be a lockdown when regional governors still have the say so to new year parties and bars / clubs still able to open to midnight...so its going to be kind of a lockdown but not really a lockdown in the sense of the words used.

Well I for one am not amused. Another long weekend causing the schools to be closed and my daughter to be home for another day each month. They are already being limited to two weeks break between terms. Also I am tired of having my free time taken up due to all the days off when I must care for her.
If your tired of having your free time taken away by watching your daughter maybe you should put her up for adoption then you wouldnt have to worry about your responsibilities.....what a parent lol kids are a bit like puppies not only for xmas........

Does this mean COVID in Thailand is the is the fault of the police because Thai people cannot refrain from gambling.
No but as gambling is illegal in Thailand it means he he hasnt been doing his job for one reason or another so thats the fault of the police. The gambling dens probablly havent helped due to other issues like social distancing and wearing of masks.

No, I think you will find that they have agreed to BUY a large amount of the vaccine before they get the manufacturing rights. If I'm wrong someone will let me know.
As above and i think you will find it is the Astra zenca vaccine from Oxford which they have ordered and are then looking at producing.

If you want to go a bit further afield but not to much i suggest Southern Big Bikes at the start of Patong. If you are heading from the Kata side its at the top of the hill.
Bang the owner speaks excellent english and when i used him never had any problems.
If you google Southern Big Bikes all details are there. They can also do pick up i believe if required.
Hope this helps.

You said it was 100,000 a month in another post. Why dont you practice what you preach stop the B/S posts and actually quote factual information ?
Your quick enough to jump on other peoples posts and give them a hard time why dont you prcatice what you preach and stop B/S ing ?

Sorry to stick a pin your bubble and burst it, but Thailand has been testing for months. They can produce 100,000 test kits locally a month.
Even in our home countries, not everybody gets tested. Thus, some get sick, end up at the hospital where they do testing, and....yup, you got it. I think....
So wheres all the reults if Thailand has been testing so wide sopread as you are saying ?
Personally i think you just like to see your name in lights and keep posting with no evididence.
Just because they can produce 100,000 kits locally a month means absolutely nothing as its clearly obvious they are not testing.

Thailand has been doing testing for months. One reason they found these cases.
Sorry to stick a pin in your bubble and burst it the only reason these people were found is because the old lady was very ill and went to hospital. Then they tested her. They are / were not going out doing objective testing. But you keep yourself believeing it will all be ok.

Dont forget Thai's returning or repatriating do not require to get a PCR test before flying. So the inherent problems is many of these could already have Covid and it doesnt shoe up until their frist test in quarantine. People on the same flight can in fact be catching covid from these other non tested people.

To bad the Virus can not take care of the Thai and Cambodian drivers. 1,400 people die every year on the road. Who is scary? Virus or Thai drivers??
1400 lol that would be a good number in comparison to the 12,000 plus that died in thailand alone in 2019. And sadly you cant really compare the virus to driving as there may eventually be a cure for the virus but no cure for bad driving.

Look at my link. Only 20% who have CV19 are asymptomatic. That means 80% get sick. Guess what? That would overload the hospitals here. Guess what? They're not overloaded. Unlike Spain who knew, without testing, they were overwhelmed with CV19.
@mtls2005 laid it out nicely above. Nothing to do with testing. That's a debunked dog whistle for covid deniers.
80 % getting sick doesnt neccesarily mean they all go to the hospital mild conditions dont warrent going to the hospital so thats why hospitals arent overloaded maybe you need to revise your figures. People will self medicate as they think its the flu or a bad cold even just a sore throat...i mean seriously if you had a sore throat would you think oh my ive got covid and have to go to the hospital ?

Below are the questions that I posted in a thread about my wife and I going to Thailand as soon as possible. Would appreciate greatly any thoughts that you may have concerning vaccine in Thailand.
“A question please. My wife is 62. I am 66. Both have Feb birthdays and 35th anniversary. Would love to get to Thailand in February to surprise her. Both of us believe we will have our vaccine completed by end of April, two dozes.
We would move up our trip to Thailand if we could procure the vaccine in Thailand before the end of summer of 2021 figuring Thailand will stay Covid free until then.
Is this a “money talks” situation where you will be able to procure the vaccine?
Or, perhaps, our age would allow us to get it?
Might changing to retirement visa move us under the line to receive vaccine?
Thanks so much.”
Very Difficult questions to answer as a lot remains speculation at the moment.
Vaccine allegedly out in Thailand in May but no one knows if entry conditions will change. No 1 is even guaranteed the vaccine in May as its still under development.
Your assumption Thailand is covid free is exactly that an assumption. Im very sure if Thailand adopted a more vigorous testing regime they would be surprised at the results. A bit like these selcetive polls of 1000 people that are carried out and also with the more increasing threat of Thais and other local nationals illegaly crossing into Thailand.
Already been said that vaccine will be available for purchase in Private hospitals if they get their own stock.
Age and Visa probably wouldnt help you as you are and Ex pat and no reason for Thailand to vaccinate you for free.
Again all just assumption and speculation.
No one will really know unitl the vaccien is in Thailand and then what happens afterwards.

LOL love your optimism and it this happens it certainly wont be free. You cant get the FLU vaccine which is free for certain people or on perscription at your locak British Embassy but you can get it free at your local GP in th UK.

UK hasnt been given priority UK had the forethought to pre order just like any other country can do and then they had it signed off and able to use straight away.
Why all the UK haters on here ? If its not about vaccines its about Brexit. Give it a rest on the UK.
You probably dont even want the vaccine like the majority of people so why worry about which country is buying it lol........
The fact that Thailand has alreay gone into a deal with the Astro vaccine means as its not ready they cant get it so will have to wait longer. They to could have pre ordered any vaccine.

Thailand is doing nothing different then any other country...including yours when it comes to their citizens.
All Citizens are allowed to return to their own country
Im in the same catagory here cant get back to see wife and its been 11 months now, our relationship is fine. The annoying factor is i work and work offshore so my limited time to go and see wife would involve going back to my home country as no where else will process the paperwork so what chance do i have when i only get 3 weeks vacation. There is no way the paperwork could be processed so i guess im resigned to staying out unitl Quarantine and stupid visa'a that for me are unobtainable due to time are stopped.

Around 1998, KSR changed to a Thai students' nightlife scene.
Thailand can survive without tourists, and their over-inflated self-importance.
LOL tell that to all the hotel owners and businesses that have lost their income and work. Keep telling yourself that and people may believe you. More like Thai over inflated Ego's rather than tourists with over inflated self importance.

And if you wanted to buy a good wine in Asda in the UK would you expect the 16 year old stacking the shelves, or Muslim lady on the check-out till, to be able to recommend any?
Really stupid comparison as thats a supermarket enviroment and you wouldnt expect the staff to know about every single item in the Supermarket.
Porsche dealership or any vehicle dealership you would and in an upmarket restaraunt you would expect there to be at least 1 wine waiter with a knowledge of the wines on the menu.

And, as stated in the OP, most were asymptomatic so they did not even know that they were infected. This is not unusual as in the majority of cases elsewhere in the world, people with covid are either asymptomatic or only very slightly affected by this virus.
Whether Asymptomatic or not knowing they were infected all the more reason for them to be tested before getting on the plane as they are putting other people at risk by not having these tests.
Should be 1 rule for all and all should require tests before flying.

Wholly and utterly incorrect.
In 2014, a majority Scottish voters voted to leave the UK. However the extension of the franchise to voters from other parts of the UK and from the EU saw that majority overturned. A democratic decision, definitely, but do not state that the Scots want to stay in the UK. The majority of us didn't in 2014 and even more of us want out now.
This is of course including all the 16 and 17 year olds that the age was reduced for those to vote as it was anticipated for a win and yet still lost ? Very democratic of the SNP reducing the age to try and favour them. What they going to do this time lower it to 14 and let all the immigrants that the SNP are allowing into Scotland to vote also ?
SNP has the monoploly in Scotland and these referendums will keep going until she has won independence and screwed up Scotland. Then she will dissappear into the horizon never to be heard of again living a life of luxury as she wont be short of a bob or 2.
And as to your comment on the extension of the franchise to voters from other parts of the UK and indeed world that works both ways so you cant use that as an exscuse. But hey you still will try to justify it.
lol.....

Instead of all these young single males leaving afghanistan and illegally entering other countries why dont they stay were they are and stand up for themselves.
