My Thai wife owns and manages a business in the U.S. of A. that has a gross yearly income of more than $1,250,000.00 year!  So if she wants to manage my finances (she doesn't) she would probably do a better job than I am!  She can read American English too.

But can she pick her nose and send stickers on Facebook at the same time ?

Actually, I always found it funny that some farang claim that Thai are stupid, yet even uneducated farm girls seem to learn enough English to take care of their farang husbands who can speak no Thai...

Enough English to "manage" their foreign husband's finances anyways.

I think times have changed ...... as a UK person I would ponder why on earth would a Thai want to be illegal in the UK.

These 1st world countries are unable to handle the illegals that cross their borders by land or from the sea.... the few that fly in and come through legitimate channels, and would remain, are relatively small in number, and presumable financially more sound.

Is Thailand any more '3rd world' than UK for example?

    I still see Hubris...

You mentioned Brazil, I always recall a liberal attitude to entering there, I got 90 days no problems IIRC.

Seriously ? Have a think about working and the work permit/visa situation.

I can appreciated activism and strong demonstrations for just causes, but this instance was put to bed long ago.

Instead of pasisionately dwelling on the past [water under the bridge], why not use some of that pent up energy and angst directed at the currently placed government that appears to be a replicate of the successive military/elitist brand of government

Could it be perhaps that they realize or, at least believe, that the incumbent government is spawned by Thaksin ?

I don't think so, unless you mean a Thai lady pedestrian trying to avoid being groped by one of the countless old male geezers.

That said, crossing Soi Buakhao may be the greatest such challenge in Pattaya. I happened to be over there yesterday to visit a watch shop, decided to have a cold one, and walked a bit in search of a bar w/ no music and few customers.

Nah. I mean exactly what I said.

Yes, the clue is in the name, once boarded and in one's correct seat it should just be trash tucked into the seatback pocket.

Agree, although I guess most pax on long=haul have checked-in baggage, the receipt being stuck on the back of the boarding pass. giving half a chance of keeping it at least until baggage reclaim ! Which is where the warning to show the boarding pass should be, rather than too late at the immigration counter.
