Eventually, this will just get worse as I have seen rubbish everywhere.....but it's not a Thai thing, I never saw anything like this where I previously lived in CM for 20 years.
All I can say is that CM must be the exception ! As soon as the grass dies off you'll see the extent of the problem.

What about his wife? she said some nasty things, if you listen to it in Thai, sorry Im not repeating it here,
She'll lay claim to his assets in Thailand and share them with her police buddies, claim the lies she brazenly told were mis-understandings. and be forgiven by her people and social netizens . Most probably !😁

No further mention of the "unsuspecting tourists " who somehow were the recipients of this "clandestine peddling " .
Gosh they must have been shocked !

Typical Thai.. The singers were not so good and the audience complained... a fight broke out and he went home to get a gun to shoot the complainers...Probably all result of too much noise all the time that makes people oversensitive, too much alcohol and too long parties. Temples first of all should be a place to meditate and rest/peace, but in Thailand these temples are used as an entertainment venue with many activities, as movies, dancings, parties, just name it with a lot of noise. Rip to the victims, but probably Noppadon will face no charge as he a member of the volunteer defence corps... Justice in Thailand has we have seen many times doesn't exist. It will be a misunderstanding
Noppadon will face no charge as he was one of the four deceased. Death by gunshot apparently .

You should go back and re-read the full text of the article. It does state that she escaped off the bike, injuring herself, and the rider turned to come back to her but when he saw that she had assistance he bugggered off. You really think that it likely that she volunteered the fare or that the rider asked for it?!
Actually it states that she jumped off the bike. slightly injured herself and he stopped and walked back to her. 😁

What word would you use?
There were clues in my post...why not foreigner or foreign man/boy/lady/girl etc if talking or writing in English ? Farang being fine if talking in Thai.

Sometimes I think it's a wee bit disrespectful when foreigners refer to other foreigners as farang.

Why is it always the Brits? I have met some very nice British people but never in Thailand. It seems like the worst of the worst Brits come to Thailand.
The worst of most countries find their way to the worst parts of Thailand. Create the right environment and you'll attract the wrong sort of people.

Maybe meaning they will catch a bus or stay at home
yet potentially depriving their own home towns of the related extra revenue ?
Meaning either they'll be domestic tourists as in the 65% mentioned.....or they won't actually be tourists at all.

Chaiyapruk Thongkam, president of the Association of Domestic Travel, anticipates that 65% of Thai tourists will opt for domestic travel during Songkran
Meaning that 35% of Thai tourists will travel internationally then ?

It's always the foreigners fault....even if it wasn't the tourists fault, in Thailand it's ALWAYS the foreigners fault.
The logic is, if the tourist was there, the accident would have never occurred....TIT!
Not always. sometimes there are honest witnesses and occasionally even working CCTV. !😃

From what I've heard and read, I think he went alone, avoiding tour guide and others.
From the original post:
ThaiRath reported that Shanghman travelled to the dam with his friends and a tour guide. They were staying at a floating raft accommodation called Krisorn Float.
Perhaps the "tour guide" referred to was just a guy in a pick-up who took them there.
