  1. If ,as is common practise ,you use the phrase "T.I.T " with respect to driving skills , logic ,law enforcement and a multitude of other issues , then it is very much the same TIT in Isaarn as anywhere else in the country.

  2. There are a lot of fun baht busses in Pattaya. They may be dangerous. The video of for those who don't know what riding a baht bus in Pattaya is like. Then, of course there is the baht bus of love. It runs up and down Pattaya Kang when the ladies get off work at the markets and department stores. If you are new to Thailand it may be dangerous to speak to a woman you don't know on a baht bus. In case you don't know you may want to ask an old time expat.

You might be just the old hand to ask. Why is it dangerous to speak to a woman you dont know on a baht bus?

You have to look at the way she sits and her eyebrows. Also notice if her husband is on the bus. If her husband is on the bus it may create problems especially if he is Russian. Getting her phone number when her husband is on the bus should be left to the experienced baht bus rider.

Why "especially if he is Russian " ?

  3. Another associated risk for baht bus riders is that they don't go everywhere. For example if your home is off the route and you need to walk home late at night down a dark soi, that would surely increase your risk of being violently assaulted relative to riding a bike. When I was shopping for condos, that was a big factor for me, to be on a direct baht bus route.

You might even trip over and be savagely mauled by a rabid soi dog , Of course you could always charter a baht bus door to door on those occasions , but only if you valued your well-being over your wallet .

  4. So...., the sex touts are illegal ,but the shows and the premises that they advertise and the people operating them aren't ???

Advertising these shows may tarnish Pattaya's image ....allowing (for a kick-back), them to operate ,somehow doesn't ?

    Two-faced and laughable .

People can choose to go to those shows or not. Walking down the street we don't need to hear about them every minute by having plastic cards with lists of obscene sex acts thrust in our faces. Not two faced in the slightest.

Some may try to paint these characters as passive innocents. But that's not what they do. They are extremely aggressive, obnoxious and pervasive. Like I said, they take value away from Pattaya as a tourist destination for the sake of increased riches for a FEW.

Don't get me wrong ...I despise these touts as much as the next guy . I also dislike the Nepalese/ Indian salesmen trying to shake my hand every 5 metres ,the guys supposedly thinking that I'd be stupid enough to want to buy hash from them ,or the ladyboys grabbing my arm ...or my wallet .

However , explain to me why is it that these particular touts are "illegal" when it would seem that those working in the same vein for go-go bars or discos are not ?

My take on it is that it is because of the obscene and rip-off content of these shows ...so why allow them to operate ? Completely two faced policing policy !

  5. Chai, whose real name is Somchai Katanyutanan, posted on his Facebook page photographs of Yingluck delivering a speech in Mongolia with the caption: "Please understand that prostitutes are not bad women. Prostitutes only sell their body, but a bad woman has been wandering around trying to sell the country."

Wouldn't it seem more logical to compare her to a " pimp" rather than a prostitute then ?

  6. Given the areas that tourists visit and that most foreigners meet their ladies because the ladies are also looking to meet them ,be it through the entertainment industry or on-line dating , I would say that the assumption is accurate.

It is also an assumption made by most Thais .

    correct
    Incorrect.

An assumption is an assumption. Only facts are correct.

    Wrong .

An assumption can be also be correct ( or incorrect ) . A correct assumption is ,by it's very nature, a fact .

  7. Recently went shopping with the wife ,early 30's, pretty, dresses well etc, parted company outside the bank ,where I had business to attend to.

Old Thai security guard started giving me the "nudge nudge wink wink " treatment . When I came out he grabbed my hand and with a big grin on his face tried to palm me a condom. I told him she was my wife ,but it didn't stop his charade . Now, I took it in good humour ,as did the missus ,when I told her ,although she wasn't that impressed !

So this guy obviously made an assumption based on us a couple .

Also , I wonder what would have happened if I'd landed one on him ???

Why do not you take a wild guess what would have happened if you landed one on a bank security guard:rolleyes:

If i had to bet, i would say you would have been shot in the head

    I think you'd be right !

It was all good natured , if somewhat unexpected ! I guess it made his day and he must have guessed that I wasn't the type to take offence . Wonder if he would have done so with a Thai couple though ?
