First, how long do you have for this trip? You could spend a long time exploring that part of Thailand.
If you are already in Ayutthaha, maybe a stop in Kanchanaburi? Plenty to see there.
Hua Hin has some attractions, the beach is OK. I like some places south of there quite a bit. Like Ban Kruit:
http://www.rachavadee.net/site/
Bang Saphan is also very nice. Down near the ferry to Samui is Khanom. Nice small town.
The drive from the Samui ferry to Krabi is quite nice. I've only done this trip one time, but really enjoyed it.
I expect something like 1-2 weeks, my familly will stay here for 5 weeks
Can you advice me about Kanchanaburi ?
my plan is when we reach koh samui, we spend the time we feel is enough in the island, and then drive to krabi from there we can reach Phi Phi islands, james Bond islands ect. that area inthere is quite nice too.
Any advice is appreiated. with links is even better.
Jesper
In Krabi you might want to stay at Ao Nang, plenty of nice hotels there and possibilities to visit the islands. You might want to reconsider visiting James bond island. There's really no difference between that island and any of the hundreds of islands in the bay, except for the price of the excursion. I consider it a tourist trap.
The road to take from the mainland side of the ferry is highway number 44, very scenic and not much commercial traffic (trucks).
This road ends at Ao Leuk where you join highway number 4 to Krabi.
Sorry have no relevant info abt Koh Samui, my last visit was almost 20 years ago.
The info from CraigT above is also something to consider as alternative to Hua Hin (also tourist trap).
Anyway have a good trip.

Too bad, I banned myself to Belgium this month, bought 500gm of Leonidas white manons yesterday, paid 5.75 euros, around 225B.
Will check the price of Neuhaus (my preferred brand) tomorrow, probably around 30 euro/kg?
Mmmmmmmmm, white Manons from Leonidas. My absolute favourite of chocolates.
That, Lindemans kriek, Duvel and a Roggeverdoemeke are what I miss most here in Thailand.
Enjoy yourself !

Depends on the airline.
Most airlines open the check-in 3 hours before departure. Thai you can check-in much earlier.

The arrival card is all about your identity, and address were you'll be staying.
There used to be a separate card for custom's but these have been abolished quite some time ago.

Hmmm....as BA Silver I could use their lounge at BKK then?
If they ever get one that is!
One of the reasons I prefer Oman Air, they have one at BKK, nice one too !!!

Neil Diamond said it best in " Hell Yeah "
I've been livin' in a bowl
With a lot of people starin'
With my feet on shaky ground
And my head up in the sky
But it’s where I wanna be
It’s a life that’s made for carin'
Got a song to pass the day
And a girl to share the night
So if they ask you when I'm gone
Was it everything he wanted?
When he had to travel on
Did he know he'd be missed?
You can tell them this
Hell yeah he did
He saw it all
He walked the line
Never had to crawl
He cried a bit
But not for long
Hell yeah he found the life that he was after
Filled it up with love and laughter
Finally got it right and made it fit
Hell yeah he did
+++++++++++
It's up to you to make it worthwhile, nobody is going to do it for you.

I struggled through nearly 12 pages of this brigade thing, and I still don't know which one I belong too.
My fault entirely
Yermanee
The rare although very female poster brigade?.........(NO, I am not hitting on you!!! )
The confused and indecisive brigade?
If anything it would be the "old potbellied german sexpat with lederhosen"
Something like this :

I think OP is in dire need of some attention.
His Tesco girl must be working very long hours for him to be so lonely

3 hours a day and she earns 250K a month? Doing what? I assume 250K is baht, so that equates to around $8000 a month or $2000 a week, or $100 an hour. Have I got my sums right?
am = ante meridiem = before midday
pm = post meridiem = after midday
Just so you know for next time you get confused with time
Yermanee
I know who's confused and it's not me. 12pm is midday, 12am is midnight. Correct?
Oops, sorry. I'll clean my reading glasses now

It's one of the older resorts in Ao Nang and a bit past it's prime.
I never staid there because it's situated on a hillside in a side street of beach road between Nopparat Tara and Ao Nang beaches.
Lots of stairs to climb or descend, that's a definate no-no for me, but heard from people staying there that it's got wonderful views over the bay, depending on where your room is situated.
My favorite hotel there was the Golden beach (the bungalows) direct on the beach (breakfast only so-so) but at night a nice sunset and a stroll away from " The last Cafe".
However my last visit was 5-6 years ago, so don't hold me to it.

Hi Tartempion,
As you know I'm a fellow countryman and I exactly know and understand what your saying.
I feel much the same as you and I also travel twice a year in business class back to the old country for a week or so.
Just long enough to enjoy and sample the food, beer and a good bottle of wine, see old friends and re-live the past over a good meal.
But after one week I can't wait to go back home again, here in Thailand.
I do have to say however that politics never interested me, not in Belgium and not in Thailand, and do realize that if it weren't for the strict laws and regulations and heavy fines, the traffic situation in Europe would be the same or even worse than here.
Anyway enjoy your stay and a nice cold "Duvel" with the mussels !!!!!

I don't think reporting the names hurts - after all - it is what it is. The victim likes ladyboys and the lady boy team are crims. The location - Pattaya -
Now just suppose that the German man is married, or that he doesn't want everyone to know he likes ladyboys ?
No respect for privacy that's what it is. He didn't commit any crime did he ?

Very nice of Pattaya One to plaster not only the name of the victim of the crime, but also the approximate location of his business.
