  1. Had the same thing happen to me when I ordered a Pixel 2 from Google and had it shipped to Thailand by a re-mailer.  I filled out the customs form and declared the full value, yet when it got to Thailand it was seized by Royal Thai Customs and I was informed by my local Post Office that I had to go to Lam Chabang Customs Department to get it

When I arrived there and provided the mandatory signed copy of my passport I was suddenly told that I would have to go into Bangkok and obtain a "radio controlled device" registration and license from the NBTC.  If I did not, the item would be returned to sender (me) in the US

I eventually filed a claim with the US Postal Service for the lost phone and received full price of the phone minus shipping.  The phone showed up a the re-mailer in the US 3 months later.  I told them to keep it, since I had already been paid

Good luck,  but I guess that Customs has to seize a certain amount of imports to show that they are doing their job.  But a license for a cell phone in Thailand of all places it a bit over the top but that is why we say TIT

Fascino will tell you they don’t have or stock them depending whether they have an actual chemist working in the shop, or just brain dead shop girls

That is the imported brand. He asked for less expensive locally made of which there isn't one

True, but now anyone can take the picture into Fascino and they can get it whether or not a pharmacist is present

  3. Why does everything have to be done on a phone ?

I use online banking from a PC and have International roaming on my phone so that I can receive One Time Passwords since outbound text messages are free from Thai banks

Even with online banking I don't think you can change your registered phone number, but since I never have had the need I am not sure

But I certainly don't use my phone "app"  as my only lifeline to my bank

  4. The only long term solution is physical therapy

Sciatica is caused by muscles pinching the nerve in the lower back

A good physical therapist can identify which muscles are being pinched and design an exercise regimen that will eliminate that "pinching" naturally

That being said,  my experience with Thai Physical Therapists has been mixed.  Here in Pattaya, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is totally useless.  After doing my elephant tricks for the attendant the head doctor walked by and asked why I was using my own ice pack after my session, and I replied because your people are too stupid to provide it

Immediately went to Pattaya International and the department there was excellent and continued the exactly the regimen as in the US (including ice pack cool down after the session)

I feel the OP's pain, there is just something about back pain that effects your entire body, and with the Thai aversion to pain killers, your only effective option here is Physical Therapy, in my opinion

  5. No, don't have a safe

Having a safe means you have something of value to protect

How safe is it going to be if a armed intruder is standing with his gun pointed at your wife or children demanding you open it

    Think about it

i could not fly on the 10th so was forced to go to travel agent and had to cancel so i could apply for a refund.

No, you were forced to seek a refund because YOU were not able to fly on the 10th, so YOU cancelled, and since you cancelled you had to apply for a refund

Next time when an airline cancels a flight and offers you an alternative, take it, or you are going to be out the money because their obligation is to provide you with carriage, when available, not when convenient to you.  How much of a refund you receive will depend upon they type of ticket issued; one way, round trip, or multi city

I have had four Eva flights cancelled and am scheduled again for July 3rd and they just issued me a completely new ticket for it, as well as a confirmed reservation.  But if they cancel,  I will patiently wait till the next time it is rescheduled
