Millions of people sign up for social security without the need of a consultant, so I seriously doubt that you will find anyone with a shingle out stating that they are a "US Social Security Consultant" in Thailand

Unfortunately the new shingles vaccine (Shingrix) is a two dose regimen to be effective.  Second dose is administered 2 to 6 months after the first.  When it was first offered the manufacturer did not have enough vaccine for the second dose, so many (myself included) were forced to eventually end up with 3 shots, in order to get the series done during the recommended time frame

So if it does make it's way to Thailand, only half of the battle will have been won, since you will need two doses

I have been advised by my lawyer that I could sell my farang quota condo in Pattaya via a Power of Attorney to my girl friend,  if I wanted to sell it, and she found a buyer and I was not here  

The car on the other hand is an unknown as far as I am concerned.   When we sold my car as a down payment on her new car, I had to go to Immigration and obtain a residency permit or could have gotten one at the US Embassy in Bangkok for $50,  before the dealer could effect the sale

So you will have to find someone here who has gotten around the residency permit required for car sales or transfers 

Sorry but I agree with the above poster.  AirBnB are no longer a cheaper alternative, at least in the US

Found it cheaper to stay in motels since they don't charge me extra for cleaning the room when I leave and give me a free breakfast

And now that AirBnB have to pay sales tax as well as local occupancy taxes, they are no longer cost competitive  with hotels and motels 

I think the date for resumption of transit through Taiwan will be on June 1st to coincide with Thai International's resumption of International flights.  The designation of "cross-straight " flights is what makes me think they are mostly concerned with flights originating in mainland China, based upon the wording below:

I am not going to get into the LHR part of this discussion but I cannot get back to Seattle since EVA is not currently flying to Taipei

They were initially going to try a one trip a week schedule, on Fridays, from TPE/BKK/TPE.  Their first scheduled one was Friday May 1st but that flight was cancelled just a day after it was announced

As of right now I am wait listed on the June 3rd flight,  BKK/TPE/SEA.  If you call EVA in Bangkok make sure you have plenty of credit on your mobile, since my last three calls to them have been in excess of 30 minutes just to talk to an agent

Don't worry about the Royal Thai Navy, they are making plenty of money selling government land to developers between Viharn Sien and Khao Chi Chan

So far there is an exclusive golf village and more developments to come, who needs pineapples anymore when the land is free for you to sell 

The Sattahip Land office is right next to the Naval Base Main gate, you think they are not going to listen to the Navy when it comes time for issuing chanotes !

You're making the obvious beyond obvious point that unless you first register your Google Voice number with your bank, you can't possibly receive SMS messages on your GV number from your bank?

No, I am saying that if you want to insure that your bank will accept SMS from Google Voice you register that number as your text enabled cell phone number that many banks now require

And many times a bank or financial institution will ask for a text number to complete a banking function and if you give them one that is already in your profile it will go a lot easier, but you might just be lucky and they will send it to whichever number you give them at that time.  I personally don't like to depend upon luck, proper prior planning prevents <deleted> poor performance 

I will add to the group that has never had a problem getting US based banks and financial institutions to send one time passwords using Google Voice 

The key of course, is making sure that your Google Voice number is in your profile.  They all universally appear to require that the number be in your profile before they will use it
