Appreciated or Revalued?

Then why did other countries have to donate covid 19 vaccines to Thailand? There was and is enough money to buy them. Apparently Thailand chooses to be a developing country when it has advantages for them. -
In The Netherlands 23rd febr. no more restrictions. We had Carnival (the biggest holiday of the year in which people drink and drink and drink and try to be funny while being drunk) on febr 25 2022 and the wintersport holidays after which the number of cases rapidly increased to numbers we had never seen before. It looked terrifying but the hospitals covid cases did not rise at all. Now 4 weeks later the number of cases dropped even harder then ever before. Elderly people 60+ can get a 4th vaccin. We have less patients dying of covid with more infections a day then Thailand. The infection rates are even higher then those in Thailand. Thailand has 70 million people and 27.000 cases a day with restrictions still in place. The Netherlands (a country 10 x smaller then Thailand) has 17 million people and now 30.000 cases a day without any restrictions. But we had almost a 100.000 cases a day in the beginning of march this year. It is over, there seems to be immunity given the fact how hard the numbers now drop. How long will Thailand keep on going on like this? Make sure people get their boosters 3rd and 4th vaccines and relax the rules. It is nothing more then a cold now for 99,9% of the people who got infected. Is it still worth to kill the economy for 0.01% of the population who might land in the hospital? NO !

after all these years that everybody was complaining about the strong baht currency they now suddenly see the light because tourist stayed away? They are not coming because of the ThailandPass requirements. Not because of the (poor) baht exchange. But then again weakening the baht would enable people to come more then once and invest more into the Thai economy. When the baht was 50 to a euro i came twice a year to Thailand. At 35 i will most certainly not. What took them so long to figure this out? -
Government Urges Provinces to Prepare for Songkran Travelers

It will never work because of the way people use their masks (shifting them up and down from chin to nose), re-using them for days in order to save money, remove them for a unnecessary selfi with friends, it wont work at all. It is only psychological protection between the ears. Even elderly people re-use their masks for days, and keep on moving the mask up and down while talking touching the mask all the time. And then they start eating with their hands they just touched everything with and without washing them. And when alcohol comes into the mixture all boundaries are gone in a split second. They should be using IIR of ffp2 masks and not the cheap paper or fabric masks. It is doomed to fail. -
Will tourism in Thailand bounce back from Covid differently?
ThailandGuy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Stop with the ThailandPass, the PCR test 72 hours and or on arrival, the 20K usd insurance idiocy and they will soon come by the millions. If they maintain the ThailandPass and the 20k insurance people will visit another country. It is really that simple. Covid is not longer life-threatening. So act upon this. In June until October Thailand will face a large number of covid infections because of the winter season. Be prepared and deal with it like they now do in Europe. Just open up and let the immune system take care of it. Start boostering people and stop the contstant panic mode when infections happen. -

The buttons where probably translated the wrong way in to the Thai language ???? ? Sorry i had to make this joke. -
As long as all the requirements like the SHA hotel on day 1 + 5, the extra covid insurance, the treat of being put in a covid hospital/hospitel exist i will not go to Thailand. I don't mind being tested. But having to pay a $100 usd per night for a mandatory hotel reservation just to get a pcr test? What if you are on day 5 in another part of Thailand? Do they expect you to travel all the way back? What if you test positive but you are asymptomatic? No thank you! I will, like many others just wait until they ease the entry requirements.

How simple it would be that, in such cases that Thailand doubts about the correct test being taken, people can get a new PCR test done at the airport and just wait until the result comes in. It would cost max 100USD and a lot less frustration and anger. Under these conditions and with more of these stories people will NOT visit the "Land of Smiles" which they just claimed to be a top place for retirement? I don't understand why everything has to be so troublesome when traveling to Thailand.

Exactly. Being a boxer does not mean that you can just kick someones ass. She could and should have filed a complaint for what he did and walked away from it. But is often has to go all the way from 0 - 100 in a split second. How many times have we seen these kind of agressive actions in the Thai News? Nobody likes that someone throws a drink on their head but does that qualify for such agression? My answer : NO ! Walk away is always the better solution to such.

I know Thai who stil drive while being drunk or under influence of drugs.... apparently the rules the country has for such do not apply either? But the main issue here is she left quarantine while being instructed not to do so. That you should not do in any country. Just follow the rules. If you have asymptomatic covid its sounds not fair. If you have omicron which is less severe and which after 3-4 days does not even transfer anymore it is also hard to maintain the quarantine. But is Thailand that should change the rules for such not the tourist. They can learn from what is happening in the rest of the world. If they choose not to look at external data they make a mistake in my opinion. But also then it still is Thailand who decides and makes these rules and regulations and not others. Given how covid regulations are imposed on tourist i would not visit Thailand at the moment but i would prefer to go to another country with a more relaxed covid policy. But that is a different discussion.
