Yes Car720, imo you are 100% correct.
The farang has to be a right mug to take the bib, who are experts in this field to be mugs.
But that is not how they were caught was it.
And going by their expensive toys I'm guessing this wasn't their first shipment.

Sir Richard Doll, the man credited with making the connection between smoking and cancer, when asked on the BBC how he would feel about sitting in a room full of smokers replied he wouldn't give it another thought the risk being so minimal.
Maybe Sir Richard Dolls answer may be quite different now (if he were still alive) that statistics show that if you are a non smoker and live with a smoker you are 30% more likely of developing lung cancer. Not so minimal after all.

Book your ticket with a premium credit card and travel insurance is free
Never tried to use it though.
I read the terms seems legit
I was always dubious about CC insurance but have been using it for many years. Before the first time I decided to rely on it, I rang the bank and asked questions about motorbike taxis etc etc and was told I was covered. You have to keep in mind most will cover for a 3 month trip at a time, but you can have multiple trips in 1 year.
5 years ago I got to test it out, the insurance paid out a hospital bill on something that I was sure they would not cover, and did so without hesitation.

Some of those countries actually have a compulsory service charge added to the bill, talk about what you know about.
Switzerland it is always included in the bill.
Denmark it is also included in the bill.
Belgium it is also included in the bill.
Sweden it is often added to the bill but if not it is still expected.
Who mentioned compulsory service charge?
I said tip, a tip is something you give voluntarily not compulsory.
Please try to keep up and keep on subject.

Out of interest, which Western countries are you referring to that don't have a tipping policy?
Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appAustralia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Iceland, France, Finland, Denmark, Belgium etc.
Maybe Sambum could have used his actual nationality that tips, for example
"However, being American, I am used to leaving a tip when the meal and service deserve it."

I do indeed! I am only talking from my own perspective, and I use the term "westerner" as opposed to "easterner" or "oriental" or "asian" or ............... whatever!
So the point that I am making would be even more annoying to someone from a Western country that didn't tip!
I was referring to this quote from you "However, being a westerner, I am used to leaving a tip when the meal and service deserve it."
It suggests that all western countries have a tipping policy, which of cause they don't.

Tipping - either to taxi drivers or waitresses should be a way of showing your gratitude for a job well done. These days it seems to be accepted as part of the package - whether that is a journey from A to B, or a steak and chips. When I go out to a Thai restaurant with my Thai wife, she always tells me not to leave a tip - "No need " she says. However, being a westerner, I am used to leaving a tip when the meal and service deserve it.
What does annoy me however, (and I refuse to pay it!) is the "compulsory" "Service Charge" that some restaurants try to add on to the end of the bill (and also VAT) Unless it is on the menu, in which case I have to accept it, but usually all I have to say is "Sorry, but there's nothing on the menu to indicate service charge or VAT " and usually the waiter/waitress will either scrub it themselves, ask me to sign the deleted item, or take it to the pay desk for the Manager/Manageress to rectify.
You do realise not all western countries tip? Don't you?

I can't understand why so many are standing up for the taxi driver here, right from the start he lied about the meter not working!
Are the commenters here so used to being ripped off they think it is ok?
And for those that can't work out how the driver ended up with 200 baht for tolls when it would mean 2 notes, I'll give a hint, there were 3 toll gates. I'm sure you can work it out how the driver pulled it off.

The physicians who examined the injury say it wasn't a shark. The broken bones and absence of ripped or torn or shredded flesh suggest other than a shark bite.
How about asking a marine biologist who has knowledge of sharks, especially the alleged type, to review the documentation? There will have been close up pictures. Either there were tooth marks or there were not. So far no report of teeth marks. One other little detail not mentioned, when sharks bite, they can and do leave their teeth behind in the subject. They have rows and rows of teeth. No teeth were were reported as recovered. What's so difficult in asking an actual qualified person?
I have a hunch that this is just be an excuse to go wipe out the endangered shark population and to push back against the attempts to remove shark fin from menus.
It's ok to admit you were wrong, unless your thai of cause.

Sorry to correct you here Chiwas but I can indeed confirm that I have also seen him out.
He is currently working at McDonalds flipping burgers, he is wearing a disguise though, a hub ahuba.
I'm sure if he was let out on bail he would not be a flight risk ?.

Surely if this is the criteria used to prosecute and convict then the jails would be overflowing with past and current government representatives.
Its a joke and a farce. Selective justice to rid oneself of political foes.
Im not saying she is innocent but there would be scores of others that fit the same criteria and yet they roam free with impunity in a country where laws protect these shysters
Plenty of corrupt officials but most don't cost the country $8 billion US.

You definitely don't need a licence for a jet ski.. even a 6 year old can ride one. They should just have a proper training session beforehand with clear rules to keep a certain distance from others.
What I observed from a little more developed country (Croatia) where I was allowed to ride one at 10 years old, was that they had a remote control system that could be used to shut the engine in a second from the beach. So if you went too far, too near to the beach or too near to others they would shut the engine as a warning. You would restart and then continue, if you keep messing around they would shut the engine and come bring you back.
Legally you definitely do need a licence to operate a jetski in Thailand obviously this is never enforced, it is a boat licence. In Australia it is a separate licence known as a PWCL (personal watercraft licence), it involves practical, written and safety aspects to obtain. Maybe Croatia needs a little more developing.

when, if ever, will we see sanity return to mankind.
shooting and killing so many innocent people is not ordained

I'm guessing you have never read the quran and hadiths then.
Maybe your point is islam is not a religion.

"Might be an airport there as well? Funny name something like Swampy lol.
Might be more to Samut Prakan than your teacher told you"
Let me make this simple for you, have a look at the link and scroll down to the map at the bottom. The red pin is Muang Samut Prakan and at the top right you will see Suvarnabhumi Airport.Incidentally I use to live in Prawet which is far closer to Suvarnabhumi Airport than Samut Prakan and amazingly,it's also NOT in Samut Prakan!
http://www.tourismthailand.org/About-Thailand/Destination/Samut-Prakan
Unless someone has moved the airport Swampy is still in Samut Prakan.
If you can't understand that I'm sorry I can't help you.
