  1. This is only a guess, but I think that they were probably in a group with a tour group leader who took care of the passports for the tourists, when they go through immigration the passports are dealt with in a batch, the officer dealing with this or the tour group operator forgot to give them back!

Group passport control like this is illegal in Thailand as each person is meant to go through and be checked individually but the group leader probably had a deal with immigration to do this (as they do with VIPs)

As this is an infringement of immigration law that is why I guess he and his staff have been moved. As he and his staff relax security, everywhere else in the world is tightening up, that is an embarrassment.

  2. Well written and an accurate assessment.

But on a lighter note: Next time they gather get some crop duster aircraft and spray them all with a special dog shit aroma mixed in with a long lasting itching powder, that might be fun to see (Does anyone think I am pure evil?) :cheesy:

  3. There area lot of things that stretch the bounds of credibility in this story.

It seems to me the German has 'done' his Swede/Dane mate, or it's drug money, or the whole thing is a fabrication or whatever bizarre reasons.

Travel insurance companies won't cover cash stolen under these circumstances regardless of how many police reports you secure. I bet they wouldn't even cover cash stolen from a room safe. If they did, every second tourist would be having money stolen.

Are you sure about the travel insurance limitations? because about 30 years ago I lost 10,000 Baht on a boat going over to Koh Samet, just got a police report and sent with a letter to the insurance Co and within one month the money was in my account in London, no questions asked.

Of course that was in the days of the dinosaurs when things may have been less jaded!

  4. I would love to see the progress of this one, its fascinating!... A real "who dunit"!

With quite a serious accusation against the police, they are going to follow up with a full investigation are they not ?

    1) Talk to the bank staff and ascertain if and when did the German withdraw the cash and see if his "story" holds true.

    2) Study the security footage. a) to see if anyone was hanging around in a suspicious way B) Note exactly what the German did during his visit.

    3) Question staff at the Germans bar regarding anything they may have heard or overheard (The German is the owner of a prostitution establishment by the way and not a tourist as published)

    4) Do a full stake out on the German and the Swede to see if they are acting suspiciously.

    5) Find out if either men are claiming this alleged loss through travel insurance from overseas (I believe there is a 45 day limit on policies) if the German is working here is he illegal if he is on a tourist visa)

    6) Do background checks on everyone concerned.

I think "IF" the police did the above then we might see a much more colorful story emerging, and the Police might be able to clear their name ever so slightly!

  5. As long as the Thai police force remains a bad joke to the countries citizens & visitors nothing will change as far as anarchy on the streets and general lawlessness.

Without first gaining real respect not much can be achieved.

In fact if the general populous was to mimic the day to day actions of the police farce we would see: everyone always going through red traffic lights, all motorcyclists would use the pavement most of the time, Shootings in bars would become common place, Mafia style gangs would be extorting money and threatening everyone, People would stop people in thair cars and motorcycles to extort money.

In fact if we were to all follow the police's moral example this place would be the worst hell on the planet.

    :annoyed::o:bah::(

  6. Money, Money, Money, I wonder how much Head of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection is getting? Normally the Prosecution, The Chief of Police, and the Judge will be paid quite a bit of cash, this has very obviously happened already but I wonder how much I am guessing about 1M each?

My 16yo son got 3 months in Bang Buang jail for taking one yabba tablet, his punishment for hanging out with the wrong crowd. at that time the phony lawyer wanted me to cough up 20K to give to the police, but at that time i was broke and could not raise the cash. (3 months of sleepless nights) The moron who forced him to take the drug was released "obviously, as the dealers have plenty of money" The law sucks here.

  7. It has been reported that each protester has been paid 500 Baht each per day and the mission is to find broken toilets in the city.

Ageturn Pornstar a protester from the far north east was quoted as saying "we were told our mission is a very important one to find broken toilets, at first I dint know what they were talking about but when one of our brave leaders explained it to us, our question was why the city folk not learn from us and just hide behind the bush and use the hole in the ground?

    editors comment:

"Khun Pornstar is a typical protester and seems to have a good understanding of the issues facing them".

  8. Not The Nation is like the famous "MAD" magazine, would you believe as fact anything printed in that one? This is a joke.

But I do agree some of Pizza Co's products are pukey but they are enjoyed by Thais, theirs no accounting for taste.:D

    PS:

I have searched the internet for "The World Pizza Council" and guess what... it does not exist! so this article must be a hoax.

So Bill ya going to sue Not The Nation?

  9. All cigarette smoking should be banned worldwide.

Its a drug industry that governments make lots of money from, just as they did from opium at the turn of the century.

Ban The Cancer Sticks, "Thai Government", or Continue With a Very Bad Karma, with Death and Suffering on Your Hands.

Addicts should be sent to government rehabilitation centers.

    Facts:

Cigarettes should be banned from society and be illegal parallel to selling illicit narcotics such as heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

Tobacco smoking can be dated back to approximated 6000 BC. Today it is ubiquitous throughout the World.

The exponential increase in demand attests its highly addictive nature. Till today, some people rest assured that cigarettes are merely a mental addiction, and the "habit" can simply be tossed in the dust bin whenever they please. The media is culpable for this illusory misconception. Movie stars are seen quotidian puffing carefree on a cigarette. This allures many teenagers into thinking they be be lionized if they imitate their favorite actor/actress. In addition, teenagers are peer-pressured into smoking to maintain or achieve a status within their clique. There are an estimated 4000 chemicals compacted in each cigarette you smoke. Allow me to provide only a fraction of a percentage of them:

    A. Carcinogens: a chemical that can cause or aggravate cancer.

Approximate 60 of the chemicals in cigarettes are known to cause cancer.

    A1. Benzene: found in gasoline.

A2. Formaldehyde: chemical used to preserve dead bodies.

    B. Toxic Metals

B1. Arsenic: Commonly used in rat poison.

    B2. Cadmium: Found in batteries.

    C. Radioactive Toxic Metals.

    C1. Lead 210

    C2. Polonium 210

    D. Poisons.

D1. Ammonia: Commonly used in cleaning products.

D2. Carbon Monoxide: Present in car exhaust.

D3. Hydrogen Cyanide: used to kill people in gas chambers in WW2 in Germany.

D4. Nicotine: poison used in pesticides and addictive element in cigarettes.

As for second hand smoke, research has shown it contains 250 toxic chemicals, including 50 cancer causing chemicals.

Ostensibly, it is more pernicious than most assume. The makers of these cigarettes have kept the majority of these substances clandestine for a long time. There is no reason cigarettes should be legal anywhere. Greed, corruption, and dishonesty should be the producers motto. The egregious makers should be incarcerated and held culpable for their nefarious acts.

    :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

I bet you think that Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" is a documentary, too.

"Well, it was in the newspaper, so it must be true..."

So of course, even if you bother to read this you won't believe it, since it won't fit in with your preconceived belief structure.

    Zealots are so predictable...

Ok I read the article Oh wow smoking "is" ok then. I will encourage my teenage son to take up the habit, and we anti smokers have it all wrong silly me.:ermm:

You are over-analytical and too easily led by all this hype. If you break down the contents of anything consumable you will find ingredients that will make your jaw drop and sound dangerous in theory and on paper.

I've been smoking 33 years since the age of 13. Non-smokers cough more than me and are prone to illnesses more than me. My health is great and I breathe deeply and easily B)

No need to be paranoid and listen to your over-hyped scare mongering

Yea... smokers will always say this, just as heroin addicts will tell you their habit is harmless.

  12. 350 of them? That would take up half the soi..that's a big team...and have seen police in Bangkok wearing black polo's last year doing a raid!

    Its all show.

They don't want to stop the drug trade it makes them too much money.

Putting on a spectacular show is only to scare the people involved in their favorite industry (users suppliers, importers and dealers) so they can keep the "on the make" value high.

Of course we see some big arrests, such as Iranians, Somalians etc trying to move drugs without the police proxy's permission, and sometimes we see a drug gang (Khon Thai) being paraded in the media (what you don't see is the private deal being made behind closed doors)

  13. It's incredibly frustrating reading this story, it's blatantly clear that the operation was pointless from the beginning.

Are the honest & responsible people in power pulling their hair out in frustration, just as I am, at this complete lack of competence/blatant pointless excercise?

No they are not pulling their hair out, the people in power are celebrating with the benefits they received, first from the competition who wanted the raid. Second from what they got for the tip off.

'honest & responsible people in power'? Where have you been?

    Exactly...

    AND:

Problem is they come down hard on the people who are the victims (the drug users) Innocent teenagers are lured into taking various drugs by the dealers. The users are arrested... the guardians are phoned by some crooks calling themselves lawyers, they say come down to Soi 9 with 20,000 Baht and we can help you and have your kid out in a couple of hours otherwise he or she will be going to Bang Buang Center. The police literally make millions out of the drug trade from families of users, addicts and from the dealers.

Are there no truly compassionate Thais in authority that can stand up against this disgusting racket? :bah:

  14. As a resident of Pattaya, I would love to see "most" of the sex trade bars closed down and restricted to a few small zones: one area for the straights one for the gays and one for the katoeys (the katoey area are should be wired up with surveillance cameras to attempt to prevent the usual crimes they commonly commit... drugs thieving etc...)

I moved shop to Pattaya after working 20 years in Bangkok, I like the idea of a city (big town) being so close to the capital yet having good beaches nearby and fresh air etc.. But it has to grow up a bit more and become beautiful (The Monti Carlo of Thailand) I would hope prices don't go through the roof as it is in Phuket when it starts to improve.

The police should concentrait on their work of removing the scum out of Pattaya... Thieves, gangs, drug dealers, bad police officers and scammers. Drug addicts should not be arrested but sent to a rehab center to teach and cure them (Most Yabba addicts in Pattaya are sadly teenagers) (take away and cure the customers)

It would be so good if the City Council could devote a lot more planning and zoning to Pattaya as it has the potential to be great.

  15. I would say the Abbot would be responsible for allowing people near the Tigers, some people have the misconception that the Tigers wont attack because of some strange karma from being in the care of the monks, but these are not "Buddhist Tigers" they are semi domesticated natural born killers.

Everyone who goes near these animals is putting themselves in serious risk. The monks who actually feed them and keep them content are of course are in slightly less danger, until they forget a feed time or the Tiger is in a bad mood.

An anti Tetanus jab and a broad spetrum antibiotic and some pain killers is all he will need.

But lets hope this rings the alarm bells and puts a stop to people keeping animals that only belong in the wild.

    :jap:

  16. It does beggar belief that this sicko can avoid any form of immigration or residence checkups in 12 years of living here - unreal!

Nasty, digusting events and too often, reported people like this seem to gravitate this way to LOS and SEAsia....go figure.

    Brewsta

If it was Cambodia or Vietname he'd probably not even be caught...

and in some Arab countries he would be hailed as a great Imam

  17. So why is it they are always found in Thailand? and why is it that it is a known place to run to? Feed him to the sharks!

Maybe it is an easy place to hide out and there is many people willing to supply the product for thier lust for a couple of hundred baht. Wth the amount of these people being rounded up in the last few weeks there must be hundreds if not thousands of them in the country.

    Just think about this:

If Pakistan and other similar M------im counties rounded up their boy lovers the entire male population would be in jail.;)

And the boy and his parents thank the surrogate uncle for the "experience" in these countries.

  18. One down and how many child molesters need to go? You are Right about Human Rights in foreign jails but, what about the Right of the children who are suffering? My take and opinion.

I'm sick and tired of people like this obviously disgusting guy. Had a very weird day at school, where an Indian got fired molesting a 12 year old in a toilet at school.

A chat with an older Thai English teacher was telling me what I already knew. They started to hate foreigners because of people like this (*&^%(_

They're the reason why everything's getting more difficult and we all get only a one year contract. What a sick world, I can't eat now, after reading what this guy did.

18 months old? I wanna cry..............

That's a little harsh considering the regularity that reports of molestation by Thai teachers appear in the Thai press.

Lets not forget, we are talking about infants, toddlers, dogs, movies, big money, victims lifelong hangups. Forget FONDLING. This guy is EVIL. together with who was in on the act. I,ve heard of some stories in my life but this is as bad as it gets

Oh'... so you know this man then? :o

  19. Seems to be averaging one a week at present..Will they extradite him or is this the last we'll hear of it?Back in Australia for Xmas and even they have got problems with child pornography being found to have been downloaded from the offices of State Paliament!!!Surprise, surprise ,they have decided not to investigate any longer...and wait for it...not bring in the police!!!!(I kid you not!!)Corruption is alive and kicking (along with N.S.W State parliamentary low life scum!)Laws...for whom??? Absolute joke and they think we'll buy it...wrong!!!

"My Dog" at this rate Thailand wont have any eldery farangs left
