  1. I rode the long way to Nan today R118 turning onto R1252 winding through the mountains until riding north at the end on R1035 and various roads that are in the video below. A total of 359km. https://www.relive.cc/view/vYvE3PdXJw6
  2. Today I decided to go to the Maning Tea Estate area again near Chiang Dao exploring. The areas I wanted to ride were impossible as very steep off road beaten up single track I would not even want to walk up. The good part was the cloud cover broke and I had wonderful views of Chiang Dao from the south side. https://www.relive.cc/view/vrqDgxAE2L6
  3. Today I was riding to visit an elephant conservation center, but due to a mix up between me and the center it didn’t happen. Another time I hope. Anyway I had a nice ride of 186km to the north side of Doi Inthanon and looped around to Samoeng Viewpoint and back to Chiang Mai https://www.relive.cc/view/vrqDgxByVL6

  10. It was a painful lesson ????
  11. Yesterday was time for a bike service and today I rode a loop from Chiang Mai to The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) https://goo.gl/maps/AvSGGkVi4r3YbuJGA I then continued on through to Khun Khan National Park and Mae Rim. The roads were very busy with tourists and bkk registered cars which spoiled the ride a bit, but some great views around. https://www.relive.cc/view/vr63ApKy78v
  12. Today I rode to Mae Rim on the R107 before heading to the Samoeng View Point. https://goo.gl/maps/bRrH5YBeqkjrH9rU9 From here to a reservoir and Hydroelectric power plant here. https://goo.gl/maps/omP3ZXC8tNs4snZz9 The dogs at the entrance tried to munch my ankles but a slow ride away and no actual bite. I followed the river Mae Khan south for a while and ended up at this point and a dead end. https://goo.gl/maps/xvuYzYT1N6KiweR38 It seems there is a way through as two endure bike came speeding past me on my return. Gaia maps states “No access” And Google seems to show a turning right just before the dead end though, which Gaia does not. But nothing was clear and I rode back. https://www.relive.cc/view/vXOde1YNrk6

  15. Today I rode the small roads south of Chiang Dao again, taking a different route. R107 north until about 2km after R3052 and heading north west. https://goo.gl/maps/7rmWNp4WcMApc2Gu8 I stayed on this road and passed Raming Tea Estate and eventually came to a gate that closed the way through. I then went to visit Wat Pang Ma Oh and continued towards Chiang Dao on single track but concreted road passing Bura Phat Resort and onto R107 back to Chiang Mai. Another great ride with stunning views. https://www.relive.cc/view/v36A3M7QpZv

  18. Today I went to look around the small roads on the south side of Chiang Dao. Straight up R107 until to police check point at Ban Kaeng Panta. https://goo.gl/maps/VSzdndkxvXfXxjraA Turning west from there to Raming Tea Estate. This is a single track concrete road with what must be stunning views, unfortunately today it was misty and a lot of the views were hidden. From the Tea estate I carried on to Ban Pang Lak and just after that it became a sand and clay track disappearing up into the clouds. Looking on Gaia it shows the track continuing with many side tracks climbing up to 1500 meters in places. Good for people more skilled than I am for sure. https://www.relive.cc/view/vevYJ8LAZyO https://goo.gl/maps/Zpg2CdfNR2hm9MH87 https://www.relive.cc/view/vevYJ8LAZyO
  19. No, after a tricky ride down a rubble part i was thinking how difficult if i had to climb up, i carried on quite a way but was not comfortable, also i wondered if i was on the road you had issues, so as alone i turned back. At the rubble track a Thai in front of me very nearly lost it and came off of, i was struggling in first gear but found a way avoiding the rubble. Do you the track that goes north to Wiang Haeng? I want to give that a try.
  20. Today’s ride was straight north on R107 to Chiang Dao and onto R3024 to Mueang Khong. I was stopped at the park entrance and ask to pay entrance, I explained I was riding through not staying and the officer in charge asked to see my driving licence and let me through at Thai price. A great ride and wonderful views, I would ride further along off road if not alone. https://www.relive.cc/view/vNOP4w34jYO
  21. Mine too ???? Cheers for the dinner ????
  22. There was a lot of haze, it cleared a bit. It was worth the ride and walk up. Merry Christmas to you too ????
  23. My friend Al from Pattaya had his last ride this trip with me today to visit Wat Chalermprakiat at Lampang https://goo.gl/maps/zCRPB1yiQUP4VCLH9 We rode on R118 out of Chiang Mai then East on R1252 and looping to the temple. Great views on the ride there and back and of course of the temple. https://www.relive.cc/view/veqzX9m147O
