  1. The problem I have is that my income is as an online poker player and of course gambling is forbidden in Thailand. The other problem I have is my bank account is in my dads name as a long time ago I had bad credit so he setup the account. I have my own bank account now but I have always used my dads one as all my bills and payments come out of that account so its easier to keep it. My income is a hell of a lot more than 40k a month but not sure how I can go to my embassay and say ok my income is so and so I need documents to prove it as poker isnt a profession in their eyes I am guessing.

Sorry to be a pain but I am trying to explain this to my wife as she is worrying. After my 30 days is up I go back to the immigration in Jomtien and ask for a 60 day extension based on me being married and they should grant that ok? Then after that is done I can get myself to Laos or KL and sort myself out a proper visa.

    Thanks again for your help.

"Online Poker Player" - that is going to look great on the kids' birth certificate. I wonder how that will translate from Thai to English ?

  2. Hey meat chap or whatever now u say it was Roger before u said it was secret agent paul ie Nookie nobody Bear u keep changing your story pal,and THE CLAP is a problem in your pants so take care DARLING

I've read some of your posts across the forum mate. Are you talking in code?

Clear evidence that the drugs don't work! :D

  3. As Bangkokney says, Thai nationals are allowed dual nationality; my wife and step-daughter are both dual Thai/British nationals and both are over 18, although the daughter was under 18 when she became British, and neither have ever had a problem. It is legal.

You don't say whether the Dutch boyfriend is the father or not; indeed you say 'her son' not 'their son.' If the Dutchman is not the father, whilst I know nothing of Dutch nationality law, I doubt very much that his mother marrying a Dutch citizen will make the boy Dutch.

Procedure for obtaining an AFM, Dutch visas and, if appropriate, a Dutch passport for the boy can be found on the Dutch embassy website.

  4. From the way you descibe the guy it would be unlikely he would gain too much sympathy from readers here when he broke himself instead of others. <_<

Indeed - you couldn't tell from the OP whether he was condemning the guy or looking for sympathy.

  5. It is not the Will that is the issue - it is what happens after death that is the important point.

Lodging Wills with the bank seems pretty pointless to me - you will naturally review your Will each year and any changes will necessitate withdrawal/depositing of any old/new Wills.

Just keep the original and translation handy - together with an A-Z list of what your wife should do once you die.

One minor (perhaps not so minor) aside - if you are a Brit, and have assets in the UK, you will perhaps need to make sure you you have made adequate provision for your wife.

You cannot just leave assets to whomever you wish.

I mention this because many Falangs (myself included) work on the basis that whatever "I" have in Thailand can stay with my wife and my assets in UK can go to my Falang children. Not quite that simple.

That doesn't sound right. If I have bought a house for the wife and left her a few Bob in the bank I am certain that I would be free to do what I wanted with my UK assets. I can't see a any problem leaving my 2 sons my 2 investment properties - no IHT to pay as the combined value is £275k

  6. The guy obviously buys catering packs of 48 then splits them to smaller bags to retail.

Nothing wrong with that, i am sure people do it all the time.

Nothing wrong at all, as long as no one tries to pass the food off as home made.

  7. Does BR have fish fingers ??

Just had fish fingers from Surin and chips.....delicious.

Which brand were they, or were they home made ?

Think they were home made, no branded packaging.

The labels may have fallen off on the bus trip from Pattaya.

    :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Think they were home made, no branded packaging.......they was vely tasty.

Also had a salad made up with their pickled onions and baby beetroot in it......outstanding.

Home made - that would be a first !

  9. Whether bananas likes the advice that he has been given or not, a lot of people have spent time putting together replies, which they believe in.

Bananas could at least re-appear on the thread to thank those concerned for their time and trouble!

Trolls don't usually come back and thank people for their efforts.

  10. Tis the beat --- simple.

    The words are simple.

While I don't particularly like or dislike the song, tis a lot better than Hotel California.

That is very subjective and entirely dependant on your likes and dislikes of different musical constructs.

    Yes.

    Unequivocable.

But, it fits the Thai requirements for musical content.

    Goodnight.

  11. From Belgium, I am receiving every two months a twenty kilograms parcel -and this for the last six years- containing cheeses, coldcuts, chocolates, canned food, +++... but only two bottles of wine sad.gif

Anyway, I never got annoyed with this by the customs -receiving them directly at home- and my Dad pays something around 120 euros to send the box by "La Poste" EMS service.

P.S.: while living in Koh Phangan, years ago I tried it once... but the box never arrived!

I am amazed at your shipping cost.

    A 20 kgm( 45 lbs) for only 1120 euro(100gbp)unsure.gif

If I ordered that weight the shipping costs would be far far higher from UK

Try doing an online quote with Cardinal Maritime - a 20kg, 1cu box is GBP 112 delivered to Bangkok (drops to GBP 34 if you take the box to east London docks).
