I have no answer.
But I have a story from long time ago from refineries.
It seems often they have unused pipes. But nobody if anybody needs a new pipe then they add a new pipe and don't use one of those unused pipes. Why? Because they are not 100% sure if those apparently unused pipes are really unused. And to avoid any problems they don't touch those pipes.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same principle is not used with electrical wires.
Sounds like you've been on the pipe....

My young bloke and I had a steak there (sirloins we chose the cuts ourselves), I think it was last year or the year before, during COVID sometime, steak was expensive (no surprise there!) but ok, we both agreed what we buy and cook ourselves was better though.
As it was during COVID the selection was a but thin, quite a few cuts weren't available, maybe better now though.
Might give it another go soon just to see.
If you go, update this thread please.

Stayed on Phuket for a week in June; two different Hotels, 5 Star in Patong for 800 Baht a night, Buffet Breakfast Included and a 5 Star Beachside Resort for 1,000 a Night with Buffet Breakfast included. Both were bargains and we had several cheap Taxi rides and a cheap Island Tour, 9am-4pm 1,000 Baht in a nice SUV. In Rawai at the Seafood Market we ought live Asian Lobstes and had them cooked for 50 Baht each at a Restaurant Opposite.
This is not the Phuket of five years ago with everything overpriced and constant gouging; once again it's become a pleasure to go there and the only Tourists apart from a few Thai's were Arab Men and a few Indian Families.
We saw many Hotels, Restaurants and Cafe's closed and several for sale; even the Central Mall in Patong is still not open as not enough visitors for them.
You can't feel sorry for all the Traders though; as many were fleecing the Golden Goose for the last 20 years or more without ever thinking about 'what might happen tomorrow ? '.
Steady on, most who are posting on here don't want to hear anything positive!

'Foreign tourists flock to Patong Beach before long holidays, led by Indians"...maybe if the Indians hadn't got there first ????

So are these "tremors" what caused the recent shoreline flooding on Phuket, or was that a coincidence?
I've seen it happen at Kalim a few times over the year's.

Phuket Zoo was reputed to be a disgrace over many years. To be honest as have no eyes on input as i refused to pay money to find out. I am grad its finished. Like the dolphin show next door. Singapore Zoo Park is the way to show animals as best as possible in nature.
Gotta agree, Sgp zoo is amazing.
Went to the chalong zoo years ago, lasted 10 minutes and had to leave, one of the most depressing, sad places I've ever been.
I'm hoping the lack or Russians and Chinese will spell the end of the dolphin show.

However, we are investigating the incident as it was widely shared on social media and damages the solid reputation of Bangla Road as a leading tourism destination.”...thats gold right there????????

I'm looking for a restaurant and not a market.. I will have a lady with me but not a Thai. How about a least touristy place.
Are you familiar with Patong?

If it's on the beach or across the road and it's Patong then it will only be a tourist restaurant.
Better off heading sth, see attached.
They've cleaned the market up big time as well as the places to eat in on the water (same soi, can't miss them).

Thanks but it’s not what I really want to do.In all my visits to Thailand have up till now never used my bank card.Prefer to purchase things with cash or use my travellers cheques.
So open a PayPal account or use a debit card, go to AirAsia,NOK, Thai smile etc and book a flight.
Escape from Nai Harn ?

Thinking the same, way to many Russians and Muay Thai jerks here now.
Riding your max or whatever bike as fast as you can around Rawai without your shirt on actually makes you look like a DH, not cool in the least.
