According to Maritime Labor Convention everyone is crew except real passenger. Also CBP would not accept crew on passenger manifest. Whilst certain crew may get away without some Training / certification requirement, such as basic firefighting, crowd management etc.  the personal survival training is a must. That includes rudimentary swimming.

Back to the thread, I think swimming should be taught in school as part of PE. I could really become handy.

Nope, I know guys who've worked offshore on ships for years that can't swim.

You can do your HUET and basic offshore seas survival (in Europe, UK or Australia) and be  non-swimmer, they even have designated bump caps for non swimmers at the courses,

I think you are correct, I’m not sure  what has happened to Thai Visa recently - it now seems to have been taken over by foreigners / expats ( call them what you like ) who hate this country ( do they live here ? ) .

It is  relentless, the idea that posts are not meant to denigrate the Thai people is a total joke - it’s just getting so boring . This is my home.

I dont understand the baying for death of the soi dogs - it is not their fault- we put them there through irresponsiblity , it can be sorted if organisations such as Soi Dog are fully supported.

So what should be done about the estimated 8 million strays?

Do you envisage 8 million familys adopting them?
