Traffic lights are supposed to be timed so that all directions are red upon a change of illumination. In the UK, the red clearance standard is 2 seconds. In the US, it is anywhere from 0-3 seconds depending on the length of the amber(yellow) signal. In any event, at least for a split-second, all directions should have a red light. Here, the CCTV shows the traffic lights were changing at the same time. That would be huge liability for the local highways department in the west. Ms. Goldstein will probably pick up a huge part of Mr. Rabl's hospital bill (insurance won't cover much) . . . because this is Thailand and we all know they don't know f'all about traffic light timing.
Both going through the same set of lights

There spending money at a lot of small places in Phuket town, was in there during the evening tonight and groups everywhere, eating in the small shops and shopping.

There's always lots of Chinese at the big gold/diamond stores, also at the new large King power stores, you'd have to go beyond Patong to realise it though.

"It is meaningless to do this. If the pick up track had hit his van he would lose time to fix it which would affect his income. He has no reason to do this,“ Mr Tinakorn said."
Calling BS on the above statement, you can see these clowns pushing in at the risk of damage almost every time your out on the road.

The picture in the article looks nothing like a snake bite. Probably just some thorns.
They look alot like the bite marks from a young python.

It's more young kids with no helmet, to young to realise their heads as fragile as an egg.
Many years ago coming over the hill from Patong to Kathu i witnessed a mother beside the road holding the saging body of her child(maybe 6 or 7 yrs old) thats head was pulp on one side, brains everywhere, a fallen scooter nearby, no helmets.
For that reason parents, cops, teachers NEED to teach/insist kids wear helmets, it's so bloody easy to get then into the habit at a young age.

Chinese have never ridden a bicycle before
It's a very common mode of transport over(probably more so than any western country) there actually, you can see massive amounts of people using bicycles in there day to day life.
Back on topic, my rant the other day about the stupid BIB not enforcing the law to wear a helmet justified yet again!
BIB continue to not give a FF on a daily basis re non helmet wearing motorcycle riders then FA will change.
Same goes for schools and parents (Thai & Western) that don't encourage it or lead by example, I see so many idiots drop their kids at school (an international one in Kathu) with one or both not wearing a helmet it amazes me, guess they really don't give a SHT about their child's safety or well-being.
Hope some of them read this an take offence.

Which will be the next food related question on Phuket forum?
- Are potatoes available in Phuket?
- Best Philippino food available in Phuket?
- Are we allowed to drink beer in Patong beach?
- Is it true that scrambled eggs are now illegal in Phuket?
Fyi for the one, who is creating these topics, we farangs are not that interested about the food. Ask us about the weather and we become nuts about the topic. What weathers best for Indian food or maybe a Sushi with some bbq sauce?
