It would be better not to withdraw Baht in cash but rather transfer to a Baht account since then you would get a better exchange rate.

It is very useful on any automatic gear when driving downhill since it engages engine braking. People with driving license should know these things since t is taught in the school and is one of the basic principles of safe driving .

Are you over 50? Get a retirement visa. Are you under 50? Then I suppose you must have enough money to support yourself (otherwise you better go back home and work on it :-) or work online, so you can either get married, or if you prefer to rent the girls, get tourist visa (if you do not work here) or business visa (if you work locally, i.e. not offshore). If you have even more money and prefer the added comfort, you can get investment visa, or the Elite card.
I suppose still enough options to choose from.

I suppose someone failing the exam should be asked to order and pay another year of study, at least this is how it works in the education industry. If you fail, you have to repeat the class

I propose that this and similar topics become "banned" topics, lest we give them any ideas.
I think you live here you pay taxes if you do not like leave
Not true at all. Thai tax residents pay tax from income earned abroad only in case it is remitted to Thailand (and even then only if remitted in the same year it was earned, otherwise it is tax exempt).

"Small loans of no more than Bt100,000 will be available to individuals at an interest rate of no more than 36 per cent per annum, averaging 3 per cent a month, he said, much lower than what they pay for sharkloans."
Well, this is what I consider an example of a sharkloan.

4% for 10 years is not competitive compared with 3.5% at CIMB for just 14 months. 10 years is a long commitment.

I have nothing to hide, they can look but I really doubt anyone would bother to inform my home country's taxman about a few thousand baht of tax refunded in here from fixed deposit account (and I would not care either, this is not subject to any tax in my home country anyway).
-
What about the 15% tax deducted from fixed deposit accounts? Can I voluntarily register and claim the tax back, or can I do it even without registering at the tax office?
-
http://www.cimbthai.com/CIMB/en/personal/promotion/deposit/special_fixed_deposit_15_months/ - 3,5% with just a Thai driving license
What Fees and Taxes are involved - especially if transferring in from abroad ?
Not sure what you mean, how is this related to transferring from abroad? This is a standard fixed deposit account, I suppose you can not transfer from abroad.

Google translate says:
The interest of 5% per year.
5% cash back for every 20,000 baht for the first year premium.
A tax break
Life protection
Cash back every year and 6% of the sum insured. The minimum amount to open an account to deposit 5 is 50,000 baht and up to 2 times the first year premium.
So it seems this works only up to 2x the first year premium of the life insurance. So 5% is real but you must buy insurance and the deposit is limited to twice the premium.

http://www.thanachartbank.co.th/tbankcmsfrontend/PersonalenDetail.aspx?PTypeID=9&ProID=226&PName=Personal - does this really pay 5% for 12 months?

Why useless?

His chances would be much higher (he would get at least 50%) if he was married. In case of a GF, it was a gift, no chance at all.

Well, as for me, I do not believe this story at all.

So having children means even more documents are required, only in Thailand.
-
You can have it "insured" but if the shit really hits the fan, your money can stay blocked in the account for many months with a limited withdrawal amount per month (like In Cyprus), the value of Baht could plummet in the meantime and the net result would be no insurance at all.
-
just get married as I did and you will have no more problems with visa, plenty of nice girls around :-)
and if it gets boring, can even get a work permit on this visa and do something interesting legally
-
OK, thanks for the clarification. What happened to the visa status of the lifelong members between 2011 and 2014? Did they have the visa revoked after the original card was cancelled?
-
11 year ago: 1 million for lifetime membership, a real deal.
now: 500,000
+ 20,000 per year excl. VATfor a 5 years membership.Form an article on internet you can search on Google: "The original Thailand Elite Card cost was one million baht, was good for life, had unlimited golf and massages, and allowed the owner to purchase land. The current Thailand Elite Card costs 2 million baht (or watered down cards at 1 million and 500,000 baht), is only good for 20 years, annual fees, limited golf and massages and cannot purchase land."
You decide. I say try harder or forget me spending money for this offer.
-
Yes, gerry, we know you have the condos and big money in the bank and despite that you bought the Elite card but the point is that you bought it 11 years ago and paid a lot less for it than it is sold for now and you also got much better conditions with it:) This is the most important point of all this discussion. Would you sell yours and buy yourself the new one? I doubt it
-
Why not? You just get a re-entry permit at the airport (10 minutes?) and you are free to exit and come back any time you want, very easy. I suppose with Thailand Elite PE visa it is the same, or do not they have to get a re-entry permit at all?

Indeed, good news this one!

Are you sure? Take a look at http://www.kasikornbank.com/EN/RatesAndFees/ForeignExchange/Pages/ForeignExchange.aspx, there is a big difference between the BANK NOTES and TELEX TRANSFER, almost one Baht in case of every USD.
