  1. OK, all my post have been deleted, never mind. I say read the conditions properly and think twice before paying 100k per year for the visa which is not guaranteed in the future and can be obtained in other and cheaper ways, too. If they offered a lifetime option, it might be different story. If one is rich, he/she can easily get investor visa with just 10M baht invested into his properties/condo, bonds, etc which will stay his/hers and he can sell it in the future, if needed. And after one is 50, TE is just useless.

  2. Please remember that if you drive with a health condition that is considered as illegal, better pray not to get involved in an accident since all odds will be against you.

I doubt it, many people are driving around half blind (glasses don't look good and are expensive) but their eyesight is NEVER tested . Not just in Thailand.

well, you can doubt it, but it will be the insurance company who will have the last word convincing you of this fact ...

  3. SO...when do they realise that, if they can do it so easy for anyone they want to, WHY isnt this available to us who are married to a Thai and supporting most of the family as well

lets put another persepctive on "easy" shall we, some who is married can put 400k in the bank and have an annual extension of stay for the rest of their natural life, therefore the married option this is cheaper and one could argue easier than paying 500k for 5 years and at the end of 5 years having to pay again, so over the long term TE is more expensive and BTW everyone does 90 day reports even the TE holders...wink.png

Yeah, I'm not married and I have no plans to ever get married, especially not for a visa.

I'm going to earn a load more money over the next 20 years or so and I plan to keep hold of it for myself, there will be none of that 50/50 crap for me.

but do not forget that you can not take your load of money to another life so sharing with a nice woman is actually a good thing but you might find the wisdom later in your life :)

  4. Two drunk Thai men come upon two farangs making out in the sand, kill them, then get in their longtail boat and slip off back to Koh Phangan. Meanwhile the police run round in circles pointing fingers at everyone except the local Thai population who seemingly are beyond reproach.

Definitely, I agree with you. This is what anyone who would do such a horrible thing on a very small island would try to do as first, flee as far as possible and as quick as possible. My guess: they will never be found, too late.

  5. Can somebody clear this up please. Is it legal to only pay the social security of the 4 thais ? Is it legal to employ them part time instead of full time ?

Social security has to be paid on full time salaries.

But no one is going to check if the employees got any salary, unless they complain. And again, it is up to the employees if they return any salary to the employer, too. The key is social security in here. If it is paid and no one complains, all is OK.

  6. To sum it up: anyone hiring Thai stuff for securing a visa is just following the rules, and if he pays the tax and social security for them, he has ABSOLUTELY nothing to worry about, if you like or not. Even if the staff does not do any work, it is ONLY up to the owner to decide if he fires them, NO ONE else. No law is broken in here, go whine somewhere else please.

  7. They asked me to get one of my staff? I could not get them because they were all working in there other jobs (I used them to get my permit as my accountant advised) I did not tell the officers this, but I just told them they are away and I could not get in contact with them.

Than this means the OP has obtained his work permit by deceit and deception. No argument about it, he is not a legitimate business owner in Thailand.

It is good that the police are doing their job. They were extremely decent towards the OP as by rights and by law they have the powers to suspend the OP`s business activities while making further inquiries.

But the OP is not out of trouble yet, as the police report will probably be submitted to the Immigration department and his next visa extension and work permit maybe denied, which I sincerely hope will be the case, because it is those like the OP who continue to abuse the system that places critical observations on everyone else.

Don't be silly, the owner can do with his own staff what he wants, even give them holidays 355 days a year. It is the racist law that forces us to hire useless staff.
