To sum it up: anyone hiring Thai stuff for securing a visa is just following the rules, and if he pays the tax and social security for them, he has ABSOLUTELY nothing to worry about, if you like or not. Even if the staff does not do any work, it is ONLY up to the owner to decide if he fires them, NO ONE else. No law is broken in here, go whine somewhere else please.

I just do not get it what is with these forum thaifarangs a.k.a. wanna be converts to Thais like Beetlejuice who think they suddenly became by some miracle native Thais and must now quiclky enforce some crazy nonexistent rules to make lives harder for normal people.

They asked me to get one of my staff? I could not get them because they were all working in there other jobs (I used them to get my permit as my accountant advised) I did not tell the officers this, but I just told them they are away and I could not get in contact with them.
Than this means the OP has obtained his work permit by deceit and deception. No argument about it, he is not a legitimate business owner in Thailand.
It is good that the police are doing their job. They were extremely decent towards the OP as by rights and by law they have the powers to suspend the OP`s business activities while making further inquiries.
But the OP is not out of trouble yet, as the police report will probably be submitted to the Immigration department and his next visa extension and work permit maybe denied, which I sincerely hope will be the case, because it is those like the OP who continue to abuse the system that places critical observations on everyone else.
Don't be silly, the owner can do with his own staff what he wants, even give them holidays 355 days a year. It is the racist law that forces us to hire useless staff.

if they came to me and asked about my staff, I would tell them I pay them to do nothing and this is also my "business plan" here in Thailand, if they like or not, since such is the law which requires foreigners to hire staff they do not need. Is there a law that prohibits paying lazy staff doing nothing, or throwing my money in the bin? I really doubt it.

Is not it up to the business owner if he pays his own staff with his own money even if their "work" would to lay on the beach all the day? I do not see any problem with this.

I wonder who set the limit to 50 years and why one can not retire as early as he wants?

Is it time to Invest in Ban Chang?
I would not say so

Well, I am pretty sure the school knows this better than anyone else, they have thousands of students and never had a single problem. Also, I am doing extensions every 3 months for 2 years now so I suppose they would notice this in case it was a problem.
-
Well, I am on student visa for over 2 years and have never done address reporting. I even asked about it at the school and they says no address reporting is to be done since I extend every 90 days which makes sense (since the address is reported during the 90-day extension). It would be a duplicate task.

There is no address reporting on ED visa in case you do the standard 90 days extensions

...and since my country is over 8,000 km far from Thailand and the ticket costs a few monthly salaries of the immigration officer, who would go just for 2 or 3 days?

I would say my grandfather just died so I had to fly back. What is the issue with taking holidays abroad, this is not daily University study, just a relaxing 4 hours per week Thai language course.

"That means that after 1 year you have to leave the country and maybe apply for a new ED-visa."
Maybe? So is this a new rule, or just some maybe? Please clarify.

I would say this is not going to work and most of it is just rumours.

and safer, too :)

And what about human rights of foreigners living in Thailand having not equal rights with Thais living abroad?

if you really need to prevent anyone getting inside (detected or undetected), you need to use a metal safety box instead of a suitcase
-
if you lock the zipping mechanism to one place on the bag, one can not move it to reseal the bag and problem is solved, too
That only solves the detection problem, it wont stop people getting into it.
well, but in such case they can directly cut the bag open with a knife so the real issue is to stay undetected (no one working at the airport/hotel will risk opening your bag this way since he/she would be the top suspect)

A bird flying 10 km high in low oxygen environment and -50 degrees Celsius? I thought the only time a bird can strike a plane is take off and landing.

Well, as for me, I really doubt one could be denied entry having a valid ED visa, paid language course + paid reentry permit, no matter how good student he/she was. Also, even if his/her visa would be canceled, he/she should still get the 30 days visa exempt entry.
Entry to the country is always at the ultimate discretion of the immigration office at the point of entry.
Having a visa or otherwise is no guarantee of entry
he wpould have to have some real reasons to refuse the entry, especially if the immigration has previously granted a reentry permit so his decision would go directly against the inland immigration issuing the reentry permit

But no one is going to check if the employees got any salary, unless they complain. And again, it is up to the employees if they return any salary to the employer, too. The key is social security in here. If it is paid and no one complains, all is OK.
