I was drunk for 5 years here and certainly wasn't rich. A large bottle of Sang Thip whisky for 100 baht. 3 large Chang beers for 100 baht. For €6 a day, much cheaper than other countries I worked in, especially Finland, where there are more drunks.

I agree with quote, Thais don't really like foreigners but tolerate them. When one kills Thais, they lose tolerance, understandably. I worked with a guy who killed a motorcyclist when drunk; he paid his way out but was fired immediately. Another Ozzie I worked with killed his Thai gf with an axe and threw her off a high balcony, allegedly. A few days after being arrested, you couldn't recognizer him. Imagine if an African(for example) came to the UK and killed a young girl, there would be a similar reaction. No one like outsiders killing their own.

I think you misread my post. I was implying it is easy for rich people, including retirees, if the can tick all the boxes. I mean it's the ones that find the yearly immigration a problem that care about the 10 year visa.

Rich foreigners don't care about a 10 year visa. IMHO, it's the people that find the easy requirements difficult. Rich guys just go to immigration once a year or pay someone to do it for them or get the company rep to do it.
