Is there anything actually wrong with racism and xenophobia?
I ask because I am both racist and xenophobic, if I am honest about it, and I experience these things on a daily basis here in Thailand.
Saturday, I went to a hospital here in Thailand and gave my Thai ID as ID. When summoned to go to the next step, the nurses said "Mister Neeranam", based purely on my skin colour, and 'khun' for all the brown people.
Last month, I asked at the Royal Hua Hin golf club about membership, to be told foreigners can't join. When showed my Thai ID, they said, sorry.
A couple of courses in town charged me more(because of my skin colour) until I showed my Thai ID.
Few months ago, some Chinese Thai sitting next to me at the bank shouted out farang can't become Thai and my ID was fake; she worked in the MOI and knew. When I questioned her heritage and her grandfather's job position, she got very hateful, saying Chinese can but farang can't lol. Strange how accepted nationalities in Thai society are now the biggest xenophobes and racists. Last time I went to UK, I was sitting near a drunk black Londoner who wouldn't stop going on about the Muslim immigrants.
I brush these things off as I am not the normal colour here, I am not ashamed of what I think of certain minorities in the UK. I hate the wokies, wokeism is the dangerous thing here. I was even called a racist for saying my best friend when a teenager was black, total nonsense.
Don't be so bloody serious, bring back love thy neighbour and laugh about our differences, instead of looking to polarize us.
