  1. This is MaeYa waterfall about 3 weeks ago.... There's pools just below the main falls & in the stream below....

By the parking lot you can buy food & refreshments & sit with your feet in the flowing water or claim a rock to picnic in...

On the way to Ob Luang there's a river you can splash around in....

There's a river through Pai with drive in access....

I wish there were more closer so I could take my dog swimming.....Mae Wang has river rafting & a national park with splashing areas....

  2. They have no due diligence in study or in practice..... Coupled with no social skills....

They take whatever programming that is shoveled at them as gospel & live on a very shallow level.....

It's precisely true, the government wants a dumbed down, zombie like population to control (one reason they allow recreational marijuana in many places).....

Prescient thinkers are  trampled & shouted down by a tsunami of programmed lemmings..... Courtesy of the social media's task masters....

I'd agree that is a possibility but it also just as possible that banning will not happen and so far no one has been threatened with, or actually deported, as that other poster claimed.

They deport him = they lose him....I doubt that they let him keep his passport....

By keeping him around there's time to build other cases or connections, possibly involving more crimes....

Does anyone know if there are charges lodged against his wife?

  4. In the few times I've been around the monkey havens they've been unwatched, huge numbers, waiting to snatch/grab anything that might get their attention..... They're not cute & can be intimidating if you have a family/group to watch out for that catches their attention....

Even to the point of them jumping onto the hood of the car while we were trying to drive away....Sling shots are better than euthanizing them or paint ball guns.....

At the places I've been it's clearly their territory....

  5. We found the Banana store on the 3rd floor in Airport Plaza to have some good deals.... I'm not sure if they have a sister store near you....If in Central Festival you might want to look for that name.....

Most people in Thailand love the Thai Myna bird.

I am one who loves this bird, almost above all others.

What can I do to attract even more of this species to my lawn?

    a.  Should I use recorded bird calls from an audio speaker?

    b.  Should I set up a Thai Myna Bird...bird feeder?

    c.  Or, what would be the best way to have the maximum number of Thai Myna birds strutting around my property, anyway?

This is NOT a JOKE Post.

The Thai Myna bird provides me with an enhanced sense of wellbeing.

    Need some good input here.

    Thank you.

One thing I love most about ASIAN washing machines, including the old TaTung washing machines from Taiwan, is that they always tie one's clothes into knots during the wash.

This never happened to me when I was young, on The Main Line, using quality machines with a far better design.

These days, after each wash, it takes me about 5 minutes to untangle the knots in my clothes.

In addition, this knotting method of washing clothes can, in my opinion, have nothing but a very deleterious effect on the life of one's clothing.

Therefore, I must assume that the washing machine companies must be "in league" with the Asian clothes manufacturers....

Because, the quicker we have our clothes worn down to nothing, the better for the clothing industry.

Also, why don't we use the machines which rotate horizontally instead of vertically?

    Good question!

Those machines which have drums which are horizontal are far more efficient and effective than the Samsung garbage most of us are forced to use here in Thailand, when resorting to the COIN-OP Option.

    Regards,

    Gamma

Get some of these....They minimize the whirly knotting....I got them at Big C.....They also have them through Lazada.....About 7-10฿ each..... Usually sold in 4 packs at the store....

  8. I haven't really noticed this....I don't live in a touristy area + I've been in the area long enough to become a "local" (known entity) = that can work both ways.....

It's possible that with some groups the TIT folks are recently trying to attract - Chinese/Indian/Russian have the locals at a defensive posture.....

Having a farang physically attack & kick a Thai woman Dr. away from his villa makes all of us suspect..... Headlines none of us need..... I was told about it by my Thai neighbors before I saw it online....

    Envy you your planned trip.

Used to do a yearly USA trip Montana down to Texas and wherever. Not being a US citizen I was ineligible to buy a gun and you are right some of those roads are real lonely and you would be a bit vulnerable if stranded. Highway 50 in Nevada we thoroughly enjoyed but we never saw another vehicle. Would have been more comfortable with my CZ 9mm than the can of Bear Spray we had.

Ahh - fond memories of hwy 50, "the loneliest highway in the world"......We took it - starting from Reno, heading to St. George, Utah..... Mile after mile of desolation.....Brown land untouched by water, no lakes or streams, nothing green....No cattle, no birds on fences or in flight, no animals, jack rabbits - nothing - no traffic, and no signs of life.....We stopped to make lunch in a parking lot of a broken down motel = no cars parked, but people watching through the windows; you could see & feel it - dueling banjos creepy in the middle of nowhere.....

Hundreds of miles between rudimentary service stops & no cell service.....Driving along I thought I saw a sign for the St. George turn off at a slight fork in the road....I asked my wife and she said no.....

We wound up traveling 220 miles further to the north ending up closer to Salt Lake City than St. George.....

So, we saw about 220 more miles worth of Hwy 50 than we wanted....

It still comes up in conversation when we are near desolate sites.....

  10. I've bought many 100% cotton T shirts through Lazada that are holding up well....No messages, but I've ordered in the colors that match the days of the week.... They're perfect for wearing at home but would be fine to wear out & about  (I prefer to wear a polo shirt style when venturing out).....

  11. We booked EVA - CNX to SFO & IAH to CNX.....They code shared the departure from IAH to UAL & that was the only leg that had problems causing a 2 day delay....The EVA flights were seamless + they provided two nights of 4 Star accomodations & meals to offset the UAL delays.....

In fairness, the UAL leg was hampered by a huge weather front....However, there was no way UAL came even close to the proficiency, or experience of flying EVA....

We left CNX in Sept 23 & returned Jan 24.....

  12. No - I have been a fill in bouncer at a well known North Hollywood CW bar = fortunately mostly unchallenged ..... Although I had to disarm a situation involving a 44 magnum when I just happened to be there, mainly because I was standing behind the guy that he was aiming at across a pool table.....The bullet would have gone through both of us....

One time in Napa I tossed a guy out the front door by his collar & belt that was blindsiding other patrons punching them as their backs were turned - he was picking & choosing who to bully.... I'm not really sure why I ran him & settled the situation, it was just a reactionary experience.....I got an ovation & free drinks for the effort....

Little did the guy know that the woman I was there with was crazier & more dangerous than he could ever be .....She was dynamite in the sack though.....But, she's a story for another time.....
