  1. Next month we will be driving from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We will be spending 2-3 weeks in Chiang Mai, and then returning back to Bangkok.

We drove it once before and it was a bit much. We are looking for a simple, clean, inexpensive accommodation/hotel/guest house, etc. to take an overnight break at, where our vehicle will be reasonably safe.

Ideally a location at about 2/3rd's of the way up, to arrive safe and refreshed in Chiang Mai...and then a different location on the return trip about 2/3rd's the way back to Bangkok.

I'm sure there are some that have blazed this trail before, and can offer some sound advice. I'm all ears.

    Much appreciated...

  2. I got the same notification.

    To quote The Lancet:

"The study found that leaving less than 6 weeks between the initial shot and the booster gave a 55.1% efficacy. Leaving 6-8 weeks between shots increased efficacy to 59.9%, and waiting 9-11 weeks, efficacy was 63.7%. However, if the gap was 12 weeks or longer, efficacy jumped to 81.3%"

What's going on here Thailand...why are you moving me from 81.3% efficacy to 63.7% efficacy...?

    I do not like this...!

  3. This is regarding my 'Non-B' visa and the renewal of an 'Extension of Stay' based on marriage...at Cheang Wattana, Bangkok.

Last year at our annual immigration renewal, they handed back to us our TM.30 form as the Immigration officer said 'no need', telling us we were 'good to go', and ran off to lunch. We have owned our residence for many years, and the residence is registered and held in my wife's name.

Will we need this the TM.30 form this year?

    Thanking you in advance.

  4. You know, when the 'surge' started and we were getting close to up to 500, 600, 700 cases a day, General Coup d' Tat (with the advice of General Rolex, over martini's I'm sure) stated "not to worry, we have everything under control".

And now seeing todays numbers, confirmed for me that nothing is going to get better for a long, long time. And that a Thai will never tell you something that you can ever hang your hat on. 'I only have myself to blame' is the sub-title to my 'Lonesome Lockdown Blues' song that I sing here in the land of Lilliput.

Have you ever noticed that no matter how long you stay in LOS, that you can still be caught off-guard and taken in by what comes out of the mouth of a Thai?

  5.

I have some questions regarding a Thailand return.

I have been/and am residing in Thailand and married to a Thai woman, and we have a child. I have been on a 'B non-imm' visa, and extension-of-stay (stamped Thai Wife) for many years, which I will renew once again on Sept. 22, 2021.

By Oct. 20th 2021 I will have also received my 2nd jab of AZ vaccine via Phyathai2 Hospital, and plan to depart for the US for 7 days in mid November.

With a re-entry permit, what does reentry entail:

    • Will I need to purchase covid-19 insurance being fully vaccinated via Thai Gov?
    • Will I need to quarantine for 14 days in an authorized hotel?
    • Is there anything else I will need to re-enter Thailand?

    Thanking you in advance

  7. It appears that one of my kids has brought home bedbugs, and so far they are just limited to her room. But I fear they will or are spreading soon to the rest of the house. Rentokil Co. claims to have a specific remedy, however, would appreciate anybody sharing any previous experiences with the pesky little critters.

I hate the thought of exposing my family to potentially carcinogenic substances.

    What say ye...?
